Why connect
Connected, the extension becomes the fastest import route there is: rank a profile, pick the winners in the overlay, click ViewRank AI, and they're in your workspace ready for transcription and analysis. No copying links one at a time.
The one-click way
- In your workspace, open the getting started guide (it appears on first login, and lives under Getting started in the sidebar).
- Click Connect extension.
That's the whole procedure. The workspace hands your API key to the extension directly, using Chrome's verified messaging, so nothing gets copied by hand. If the extension already holds a different key, it won't be silently replaced; you'll be asked.
The manual way
If you'd rather do it yourself, or the one-click button can't find the extension:
- Open Settings in ViewRank AI and copy your API key.
- Click the ViewRank icon in Chrome, open the menu (⋮), and choose Settings.
- Paste the key and save.
Send your first videos
- Open a creator's Reels tab on Instagram or Videos tab on TikTok.
- Click Rank Now and wait for the overlay.
- Pick the videos worth studying and click ViewRank AI to send them over.
They land in All Videos in your workspace.
FAQ
I rotated my API key. Why did imports stop?
Rotating the key in Settings kills the old one immediately. Paste the new key into the extension (or hit Connect extension again) and imports resume.
Does connecting give the extension access to my Instagram or TikTok account?
No. The key only links the extension to your ViewRank AI account, so imports end up in the right workspace. Ranking works the same connected or not.
The Connect button says it can't find the extension.
Make sure the extension is installed in the same Chrome profile you're using for the workspace, then reload the workspace tab and try again.
