Overview

This policy explains how ViewRank AI (the web app at app.viewrankai.com) and the ViewRank Chrome extension handle your information. We built ViewRank for creators to research short-form video — not to sell your data.

Extension vs. workspace

The extension's core features — sorting, favorites, notes, tags, and CSV exports — run locally in your browser and stay on your device unless you choose to send something to ViewRank AI.

Data is sent to our servers only when you take an action, such as:

• Importing reels from Instagram or TikTok into your workspace.
• Uploading a video or pasting a public link (including YouTube Shorts) in the web app.
• Requesting transcription, ideas, scripts, or visual analysis.
• Preparing a stable media copy when a platform link is temporary.

Imports may include metadata (views, likes, captions, URLs) and, when needed, video or audio files stored on our servers so workspace features keep working.

What we collect and how we use it

If you create an account or subscribe, we may collect and store:

• Account info — such as your email and sign-in details.
• Workspace content — imported videos, uploads, transcriptions, ideas, scripts, visual analyses, and projects you create.
• Reference-video data — public captions, creator handles, metrics, thumbnails, and URLs for content you import or analyze.
• API key — a unique key you copy into the extension to connect it to your account. Treat it like a password.
• Billing status — subscription and payment status from our payment processor. We do not store your full card number.
• Usage counts — how many AI features you use each month, to enforce plan limits.

We use this information to run the product, connect the extension to your account, process subscriptions, respond to support, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal information.

When you use AI features, we send the relevant content (such as audio, text, captions, or video frames) to third-party AI services to generate results. This is used only to provide the feature you requested.

Third-party services

ViewRank AI relies on trusted third-party tools to operate — for example, sign-in, payments, cloud hosting, file storage, and AI processing. These services handle data on our behalf only as needed to deliver the product. We may change providers over time without updating this page for each one.

The web app uses cookies and browser storage for sign-in and preferences. The extension uses Chrome storage for settings, your API key, and local sort, favorite, note, and tag data.

Our marketing website uses PostHog analytics to understand aggregate visits, page views, countries, device types, browsers, and clicks on selected calls to action. We do not use analytics to sell your personal information.

Retention, security, and children

We keep your workspace data while your account is active. You can delete items in the app where deletion is available. To delete your account, email viewrank@metlymedia.com from your account email.

We use secure connections and standard industry practices, but no system is perfectly secure — keep your API key private.

ViewRank AI is not intended for users under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
