This is the full transcript of 5 HUGE Grok Bot Updates (It’s SO Good Now), published on YouTube by Moritz | AI Systems. Every paragraph carries the moment it was spoken, so you can click any line to jump straight to that point in the video, search the whole thing for a word, or copy it out.
0:00Grokbot has been getting so much better lately. They've made a bunch of upgrades and I really enjoy using it now. In this video, I want to walk you through all of the recent upgrades and show you how I'm using Grokbot in my day-to-day now and what use cases I have set up. My ultimate goal with Grokbot is to have it running multiple businesses autonomously and I actually think we're really close to getting there. So, let's dive in. All right, so the first update that just came out today is that they have unified plans across Grok, Cursor, and X Premium and it's all under one subscription now
0:29called the X subscription. And they have five different plans all the way from free to ultra. And here you can see the prices of those plans. So, all the way from zero to the ultra plan, which is 200 per month. Now, what does this mean concretely? So, Matt Palmer summarized it. So, first of all, if you have any of those subscriptions, every change here is opt-in. So, you don't have to change anything about what you have right now, only if you opt in to this new umbrella X subscription. So, the question is, should you opt in? Now, the benefit is definitely that they have increased the
1:03coding limits. So, for most users, Grok and Composer coding limits are at least double what the matching Cursor plan gives you today. And so, you can see the usage limits here. Um, ultra is actually at 50X plus usage now. So, that's a good part. Also, if you have an X Premium subscription, it's pretty good because you can combine it and then you don't have to pay for your X Premium subscription and you can pay all combined in one plan. So, any paid plan
1:29now includes the X Premium features. Now, here's the part that's not too great. So, if you're using a lot of third-party models, so if you don't use Grok, but for example, use Opus a lot. It says here now, "What's changing is how those models are built on the new plans. They come out of your usage credits at the provider's API list price, the same as paying the provider directly." While currently, the Cursor plans are actually subsidizing these third-party models. So, you're actually getting some inference below the API price. And so, if you're using Opus a lot, for example, for coding, it might actually make more sense for you to
2:05stick with the legacy plan. So, yeah, everyone can kind of decide for themselves if it makes sense for them to switch. Now, for me, it I have my X subscription and I have my Cursor Ultra subscription. And on the one hand, it would be good to combine them into one because then I don't pay my X subscription. But, on the other hand, I do use a lot of third-party models, so I don't know if it actually makes sense for me. But, if you do want to do it, you can go here to cursor.com/unify and then just go through this process and then unify your accounts. All right,
2:34the second big update, and this actually happened a couple of days ago already, is uh Elon announced it here. He said, "Important note regarding Grokbot. Going forward, SpaceX will use the best back-end model for any given task, including Claude Opus, Midjourney, Suno, and other leading APIs." And so, they're basically, you know, previously, Grokbot was only using the Grok model behind the scenes. And now, they're opening it up to other models. And I think this was mainly a re- reaction to Claude Opus 5.5 just being so incredibly good that they are now opening this up and saying that Grokbot will use Opus behind the scenes for certain tasks. And for me, this has
3:11actually been the main reason why I've been using Grokbot more and more again in the last few days. I just feel like it's gotten so much more intelligent again. It's making less mistakes. And they've also made it faster now. All of these things combined are making me use Grokbot a lot more again. Now, what's interesting is, and I'm inside of my Grokbot app here, and I asked my Grokbot, I said, "Is there a way to tell what model you are using behind the scenes? I saw this tweet by Elon which said that you're allowed to use any uh other model now, not just the Grok models." And then, it's uh saying, "I
3:43can't actually see or share which model runs behind me. So, I can't tell you anything beyond that." And then, I kind of pushed a bit more, but it's still saying, um "I cannot I cannot tell you. So it's So it was mainly a feeling that I had that in the past it made a lot of mistakes and wasn't as good at it as it is now and I wanted to see if I can find any evidence for that and I said, "Can you go through my past messages on Grok bot and tell me before the switch to opening up the models which of your answers have been dumb where it was
4:12pretty clear that you're being stupid and how that has changed now." My feeling is it has changed now and you're much smarter but I need concrete evidence. So it kind of did this like little audit and went through my chats and it gave me this report here. So it's saying it's partly true and then it went ahead and listed like all of these instances where it gave me answers which were wrong or answers that I had to correct and then it compared it to after this change was made and what things have gotten better. For example, it answering the product questions that I had correctly the first time that it
4:44checked the Frame Jam repo before actually answering and a couple of other things. But it did say that after October 7th there were still some mistakes that remain but a lot of them were actually taste related or it merged things too fast. So it's not concrete evidence but I do feel like it is gotten much better. And what I've just noticed from my own usage is I'm being more and more ambitious with the tasks that I'm giving it and just letting it handle things more autonomously and most of the time they come back and they're done very well and this this just gives me like more confidence and trust in giving
5:17it more tasks. All right, another huge update was that Grok bot now has its own email address. I have used Agent Mail in the past to do the same thing but it's nice that this is now built in and it was super easy to set that up so I just pasted the tweet here and then I said, "Go set it up." and it went ahead and read that and said, "Okay, Dan's post is about grabbing a short Grok bot email address like this." and it asked me,
5:40"What name do you want before the at?" So I just said, "I want Moritz." and it went ahead and claimed that for me and then came back saying, "You've got moritz@mail.grokbot.com now." But if you don't have one yet, there's actually an even easier way. You can also just on X tag bot and tell it to set it up for you, and that should then also work. And once you set that up, you can either send a test email to your other email address, or if you go here into connect apps, you can click into your connected apps, and then if you should click show all plugins, you
6:10should see this one, which is basically the email connection here. Now, you can always only have one email. So, if you want to change it, you're going to give up the one that you have. And real quick, guys, if you want to learn more about Grokbot, I just put together this Grokbot playbook for you guys. You can download completely for free. I'll put a link in the description below, and it just includes like all of the things that you need to get Grokbot set up and all of the tips and tricks that I have uh discovered and written down. You'll find all of them in this playbook,
6:39including my routines and my skills and my use cases. It is 16 pages long, so if you want that, go and grab it below. Back to the video. Okay, another huge update has been that Grokbot can now search, read, and monitor X directly. And this was like one of the big kind of pain points before that even though Grokbot is owned by the same company, it doesn't have it didn't have a very nice and easy integration into X. Now it does. And the cool thing is you don't have to do anything to set this up. This already works. So, just go in and basically I said, "Since you now have
7:12direct X access and also access to my account, so you actually have two different ways of X access now. One, uh the thing that was just enabled, which is direct X access, and this is all for public information, okay? And so, this includes things like public tweets. It includes your own tweets as well, since they're also public. And it also includes things like searches. So, your Grokbot is able to use this access to access basically public tweets that are done by other people or like just search for tweets. And then there's also still the API, which is for all of the things related to your account. So, for
7:49example, DM access to your account, your bookmarks, or also if you wanted to check your home timeline specifically. And this access you will still have to set this up through the API, and you will have to pay for that. Although, when you set it up the first time, you get a free $99 credits. But anyway, now that you have this public you can actually do most of the important things through this for free. All right, so I told it that since you have this direct access now, I want you to regularly daily read my timeline, my X posts, and so on. And I said based on that, I want
8:25you to surface interesting posts or things that I should definitely know about so that I don't miss things. Just give me digests throughout the day so that I don't need to doom scroll daily to keep up with everything I need to know. And so it went ahead and set up this X timeline digest for me. And this is how one of those digests would look like. So, it's basically giving me the relevant tweets here along with links, and kind of giving me a nice little update on like what's happening in my timeline and what are the topics that
8:52people are talking about in my bubble. Now, one thing I didn't notice until later was that when it's doing this digest, it was actually looking directly at my home timeline, and therefore it was going through the API and not through the free public access. And so it was using up my API credits. And uh so I just told my bro bot to change that. I said I want to save those credits and not spend too much cuz they were really draining pretty quickly. And so I just actually told it to switch it over to public data. So, it's just now it just like takes a couple of accounts
9:23that I am following and just checks those regularly through the public data access. And then that's free. Other than that, there are also a couple of other things that I set up. So, one of them is a Frame Jam mention scan. So, the new product that I just built is called Frame Jam, and I want it to every time when it mentioned by somebody on X, that it just like I get that in my digest or I I see that and can reply to that. And also, I want it to do a kind of scan where it's looking for people that are talking about related things where I can
9:54suggest Frame Jam as a solution in the comments. And so, it's doing both of these scans for me as well um every day. And then, other than that, I think this uh native integration is really powerful now because I can use it for all kinds of things where I would be searching X now. So, for example here, I remember there was this one post where um someone was describing this process of switching when you have an X subscription, and I asked it to find it for me, and so it went ahead and found that post. I sometimes also just ask it to do some research for me. Or here, I also said,
10:24"Do I have any recent DMs I haven't answered yet?" And it can also go into my DMs, and it can even go into my requests now, and I think that is something that is new because I tested this before and it wasn't possible, but it is now possible to go into my DM requests and also see them. So, that's uh pretty useful for uncovering brand requests, for example. All right. And then, another big update that I want to show you is that they have integrated Cursor into Grokbot in a much better way now. So, it says, "Grokbot is now more powerful for building software. Bots can
10:54hand off coding tasks to Cursor, manage your PRs with GitHub and Origin plugins, and share video demos of what they built." And so, here's how I'm using that. So, I have set up this Frame Jam bot here, which is the bot that is managing my Frame Jam project. And I just asked it initially like explain what exactly you have access to. This is what I see in my Cursor app. One of them is the Frame Jam project, another one is the Claude uh Frame Jam site, uh and the other one is a local folder. So, if I switch into my Cursor app here, you can see I on the side I have These are the
11:27relevant ones. So, I have one which is a Cursor project, you know, this is their new feature where it's essentially like one thread. So, it's one agent that then can trigger threads underneath it and basically coordinate sub agents, but it's like all one thread. This is this new project's feature and this is all in the cloud. And then I also have here a cloud project. This one is my GitHub repo in the cloud of the Frame Jam website. And this one here is the Frame Jam repo, but like the local version of it. And so, my Grok bot actually has access to this one, the Frame Jam
12:05project, and then also the cloud repo. And you can see here it was triggering these threads within that cloud repo, but it's also able to trigger threads or basically send messages into the the Frame Jam project. So, you can see from this example here from Moritz via Frame Jam bot and then it answered inside of here. So, the cool thing about this is if I send it into the project here, I can actually trigger local agents as well. So, I can do both. I can trigger cloud agents from there and I can also trigger local agents. And with all of these updates, I am naturally asking
12:41myself, and I think other people are asking that, too, is like at what point do we have these agents getting so good that you can more or less give them like super high-level tasks and have them handle that autonomously all the way to them running a business autonomously or, you know, just like making money for you by by themselves. And uh here's just like one person describing something and saying something similar saying, "I think I've experienced AGI. Just did a 30-minute phone call with bot. Together we got back to about 20 emails, organized my calendar for the week, wrote a proposal for my team, ordered lunch for my family, booked and paid for
13:15a hotel, and arranged a cab to the airport. It also gave me some great advice along the way. Did all 100% hands-free with my baby fast asleep on my chest. If this is what life is like with super intelligence, I'm all in." So, this is great and I think I want to try to take it even further and really set up routines in the right way that it can do most of the things that need to be done in my business and then later on potentially for other businesses I start so that it can do these things autonomously. And um I'll show you a couple of examples of what I've started
13:45doing already and what I'm testing now. Okay, so the first thing I've set up, which is actually becoming really useful, is this partnership spot. And the the goal of this spot is basically to be like a partnerships manager for me, which is for my business where I create a lot of content, I get sponsorship requests from brands. And most of them are companies that I don't necessarily want to work with and some of them are companies I want to work with. And so this bot's job, he has several jobs now, but one of them is that he does a daily sponsorship inbox scan. So, he will just look through my
14:18inbox and I gave it a couple of criteria of what the companies are that I like to work with and it will do this scan for me every day and then give me a summary. And so here you can see an example of this. It kind of said there are two new paid pitches today and then it actually also goes ahead and just drafts a reply um along with also some of the rules that I've given it and and how it should reply to these people. And right now I've still set it up in a way to have some control over it. So, I want it to
14:46like draft all of these things, but then get my approval before it's actually sending them off. But I am slowly transitioning it to just make it fully autonomous so that it should only really get back to me once the transaction is about to be made and it should do the negotiation and things like that by itself. And another thing that's really helpful here is that the the sponsorship requests actually come in through different channels. So, email is like the main channel, but I can also be getting sponsorship requests through Passion Fruit for example, which is a platform which is like a marketplace where brands and creators are being
15:20connected. And then on X people also sometimes just DM me and ask about sponsorships, so that's also a potential channel. So, I basically set up like all of these scans across these different channels, and it can accumulate everything for me here. So, this is something that, you know, used to take me a lot of time to try and manage that, and now I've outsourced most of that to my bot. All right, the other example here is with my Frame Jam bot again. So, I'm not just using Grok bot here for the development of the app. I've actually also started using it for my SEO strategy. So, I've said here, "Give me a
15:53summary of the to-do list of the SEO strategy of where we are." And basically, I had it create a like lengthy and comprehensive SEO plan, and this plan we're going to work through it bit by bit. And the goal is just of the of the plan is mainly that it improves the SEO and also AEO of my Frame Jam site. And then, what I've done is I set up these weekly Frame Jam SEO checks, so every week it should go and make some progress on this plan. And that can include creating new pages, uh doing some research, and then creating, for example, comparison pages or just like
16:26fixing something about the site. And of course, you want to steer it and give it kind of the right guidance. For example, one thing that I've done is I said, "When you build the pages, the new sites in the future, I want you to basically use the Opus 515 model when you trigger your sub-agents to do that, whether they are the sub-agents through the Frame Jam
16:47project or just the cloud sub-agents." Just because I found that if it uses other models, the design often lacks something, and the Opus 515 model is a bit better at design. And so, here you can see how it's actually doing the development and how it's creating new sites. And then, I have put in this check now that it should always like check with me before it merges anything, but I will probably over time also remove that. But once it's finished building something, it will give me the screenshot of what it's done, and I can just check it out here. So, I can check it out in the Grokbot desktop app or
17:21also on the Grokbot iOS app. And when it builds something, it actually also gives me this Vercel preview, which is pretty cool. So, this is a deployed version of what it has built, but in a with a different URL, not on the live URL. And so, this way I can open it up in the browser and actually go and explore the thing that it has just built for me, whether it's a new page or or whether it made a change to an existing page. And then yeah, I can also ask it, "Can you
17:47do a video demo of what you just built?" And here it would then went ahead and recorded a demo um of the changes that it just made. Okay, now one final thing that I am currently also testing out is this trading bot here. And I'm always kind of skeptical when I see these people talking about this on X that they have these like autonomous trading bots that are making them money. But I thought I'll just test it out and I actually once saw an account that's doing the experiment where it's just giving the bot just like full autonomy to research and do the trades for it and
18:18then just seeing how well that portfolio performs over time. So, I thought I'll I'll try to do the same thing and basically I created a new bot here, trading bot, and just said, "I want [clears throat] you to do something similar to this other Twitter account." So, I gave it some context here. Had I had Grok research like how this other account actually set everything up and how it's doing the research and what the conditions are so and so on. And I just put all of that in a prompt in here. And so, it went ahead and did that research and says, "Okay, we will use a platform
18:47called Alpaca because it has API access. It has a solid API here and this way we can like basically come up with a plan. I can write everything in code and then I can drive this whole thing and just do the trades for you." So, all I had to do was sign up to this Alpaca platform. So, it looks like this. I just signed up here and then I gave the credentials over to my One Password. By the way, this is also something I can really recommend setting up. You should use one password and put all of your passwords in there and then if you connect one
19:17password here in Grokbot, you can very easily share your passwords with your Grokbot and this way all of your credentials are secure. And yeah, now my bot has this like trading plan here set up. I've I've only made it paper trading for now. I just want to see maybe for a month how it performs and it created this Alpaca account. Everything is set up and then it started trading. And now every day it will post the trades that it's making in here. It will do research and it will then close the trades or open up new trades. So I'll just be following and seeing how well this
19:50performs and yeah, it'll be a fun little experiment for me. All right, and that's it for this video. Again, if you want to download the Grokbot playbook which I drafted here for you guys, you can do that for free. I'll put a link in the description and then otherwise, thank you for watching till the end and I'll
20:04see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
