How to build an agent to automate video research & script generation? | N8n + Open AI

0:00last week I created my first video on YouTube and to my surprise without sharing it without any promotion it started to get some views I checked out the analytics and it got 308 views since it was published which to me that was an interesting nugget that hey we might be on to something however the more we dug in the more myself and my team realized that succeeding on YouTube is going to be painful it's going to take a lot of time there's a lot of manual work that you have to do to research topics to structure scripts to identify talking points to figure out how to you know

0:32structure your videos so that you can stack the odds in your favor and uh people will watch it so I'm going to go pretty much completely off the cuff here I'm going to walk you through how we did it what the goals were and I'm going to share as many of these resources uh with you attached to this video as I can so that you can set this up for yourself and hopefully see some success when you go and publish your next video as well I'm going to give you some thinking in terms of what I think the implications are of this and uh what I think it will

1:02do to our own strategy to kind of you know spread the word and get more marketers talking about agents and AI workflows so let's dig in first let's take a step back what's the goal of the automation that we created so I touched on this a bit but there's a lot of timec consuming research script writing things of that nature that you have to do when you want to create successful videos so can we automate the boring stuff can we automate research to identify viral Hooks and structures can we generate AI generated scripts based on top performing templates and videos can we autosave those and pump them into a

1:36Google sheet so that we can access them merge it with data and understand uh which ones we need to focus on in a given day the benefits are we're going to save a lot of time hopefully we're going to use this to figure out how to scale up the amount of videos that we can create not just on YouTube but across platforms and channels uh so what this workflow does here it automates the process of extracting YouTube script structures from videos on specific topics or from specific creators that have more than 10,000 views pretty simple the goal is to generate structured scripts that can be used for

2:14Content creation and analytics okay so what do you need to do this uh you need Nation you need uh YouTube data API access you need to have some python or JavaScript support you can use you know Claud or perplexity or whatever your uh your preferences there you need to be able to integrate with GPT models for script summarization so maybe you have an API key that you can plug into your workflow here uh so the first thing that we do is we identify Target videos so you can start with keywords you can start with creators or topics we uh decided to start here with identifying specific creators then we're going out

2:49and fetching all their videos um you know our our AI models are are watching and transcribing those videos and identifying patterns so we're essentially training this script generator um based off the information that it's Gathering uh for how it can generate really great scripts for us so uh I'll share this with you um but let's take a quick look at uh how we set up the workflow here uh it looks pretty complicated there's a lot of steps a lot of nodes this is just for one Creator we can copy and paste this for you know certain topics keywords other creators that we want to extract structure um uh

3:27ctas and ideas from so basically this is going to scrape a Creator it's going to structure all that transcription data into a usable format so that you know GPT or whatever llm we're using can understand and use that information to create a great script for us so it goes through a bunch of steps to essentially extract and prepare the data uh and then at the end of the day what we're able to do is chat and interface with this workflow or agent whatever you want to call it uh to build us great scripts really fast so uh here I asked for a a script uh that talks about the power of

4:06AI agents for marketing teams and uh comparing this output to what I got from just chat GPT it's like night and day uh this is great it's learning from people who have gotten a lot of views and who know how to how to talk on YouTube okay compare uh the script here to uh again what we got from chat GPT which is like super basic um and there's minimal prompting uh that went into into this to get a killer output um How Will I use uh these scripts uh one way I can use these scripts is by uh passing them to haen uh via API so what if I can you know

4:44produce three four five 10 videos every single day um that you know are based on uh structures and and scripts uh that are actually doing really well out there can I use this as a way to expand my surface area learn faster figure out what topics and styles and templates and formats are performing so I can double down and record more videos and repurpose content around those I was uh I I thought the haen output was okay uh I think until it sounds a bit less robotic I'll just record these scripts myself I'll give you a quick view as to how this looks and uh I'm curious to get

5:24your thoughts uh in the comments in 2025 if we still face bottlenecks and scaling content creation we are certainly not doing marketing right even now the process to create a basic blog is timec consuming think of videos you spend hours brainstorming IDE so not too bad it's a little bit robotic a little bit awkward these will improve there's probably some ways that we can uh optimize this a little bit it's not ready to to post yet so I think I'll opt for recording them myself uh for now um the big idea here the really cool thing is that you know I was chatting with uh with my growth manager and uh yesterday

6:03she shared that uh that view count with me and that day uh she went and took action and built this automation so uh what one marketer can do the amount of Leverage they can get and the amount of value they can add to a team uh by spinning up a workflow an automation or an agent is just absolutely incredible imagine if everyone on your team had the agency the knowhow and the capability to go and identify an opportunity and capitalize on it in less than 24 hours so now we've got a bank of scripts we've got a strategy we have a plan I'm excited to see how this performs and
