0:00Welcome back to another monthly update video where I share with you all of the stats, all of the details, the raw and real numbers, the behind-the-scenes of my Etsy shop for the previous month. So, today we will be talking about February, and we will get into all the numbers. So, the revenue I brought in, the number of orders I brought in, the amount I spent on ads, and best of all, my actual profit, how much money I actually took home. So, February was my 14th full month on Etsy. So, if you are new here, I started my Etsy shop in January of 2025, and I sell Canva templates. More

0:34specifically, I sell party printables in the like digital invitation niche. So, think things like invites, banners, signs, really any kind of printable party decor. So, I create the designs, and then the customer actually prints them out. So, I don't actually have to worry about any type of inventory or shipping or any of those kinds of logistics. I just create and post my designs, and then Etsy sends those designs to the customer when they purchase it. So, I don't actually have to do anything besides create and list the designs. It has been a wonderful side hustle to start because while it has been a lot of upfront work in the

1:05beginning, it does become more passive over time. Now, I'm a little late to posting this video cuz it is like almost the end of March, but we're catching up here. So, in my last monthly update video, I did mention how I was really kind of contemplating if whether or not making these YouTube videos was worth it, and I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who commented on that video cuz I got so many nice, heartfelt, amazing comments, and they really like reinvigorated my desire to continue creating those videos. So, thank you so much to everyone who commented. I tried really hard to respond to as many as

1:37possible, but I definitely did read every single one of them. So, let's go ahead and get into it, but I do just want to kind of give some reference for what I put into my shop in February. So, kind of like the work that I put into it, and I mentioned this in my last monthly update video, but my family just went through a cross-country move for

1:55the second time in 4 months. Um and February was the actual month that we made the move. There's just a lot that goes into a cross-country move, especially when you are very pregnant with a toddler. So, in February, I did not list nearly as many new products as I usually do, but I still did list some, and I did hit I think around 700 listings in February in total for my shop. So, I think that is an important frame of reference as you go into watching this video. Okay, let me go ahead and share my screen and we can

2:24look at all of the numbers together. Okay, so here is my Etsy dashboard for February. So, we have February 1st through February 28th. February is a little bit of a shorter month, so I did expect that sales would be like a little bit less uh just because it is a couple days shorter. Um I will say that February definitely was not as good as

2:42January for me. So, let's talk about it. My shop in February brought in 24,300 visits. I brought in 948 orders. So, my highest order day I had 50 orders, and my lowest it looks like I had 22 orders. I had a 3.9% conversion rate, which I feel good about. And my total revenue, so the total amount of money my shop brought in

3:06in February was $6,521.50. My highest revenue day was $366.11,

3:16and my lowest day looks like it was around $166.63. So, I did not have any $400 days like I did in January, um but I'm still pretty happy with 366. I definitely just overall had less revenue in February compared to January. For reference, I did hit $8,000 of revenue, or I think it was close to 8,000, somewhere really close to 8,000, maybe a little over 8,000. I forget exactly. May- I think it was like 8,100. Think I had 8,100 in uh in January. Um so, February, even aside from the couple days shorter that it was, I did just overall bring in less sales. I think a big part of that was

3:56because there was like a big rush in January after the holidays because people really aren't worrying about planning parties around the holidays. Uh and so, a lot of people that might maybe were like trying to have a party in January or February, as soon as January hit, they were like, "Okay, let's plan this party now that we've been waiting

4:13for it." Um and then kind of come February, things slowed down a little bit because people weren't as like jumping on the gun to do it. So, little bit less than January, but still can't complain about the $6,500. So, let's go ahead and jump over to my Etsy ads dashboard and talk about this. So, I always like to share all of the money that I spend on ads cuz I do spend a pretty significant amount of money on ads. I get a lot This is probably like

4:40the most controversial thing that I do. This is probably like the only hate that I get here on YouTube and other platforms is that I spend a good amount of money on ads, but I will always say ads do make me more profitable, and that is the number one thing that I care about. So, in February, I will say though that my ads did not perform as well in February. A little disappointed, but they brought in 295,000 views. Um and a view is different for your ads than it is for like your general organic reach. So, with your ads, a view just means your product showed up on someone's feed. Even if

5:16they just scrolled past it, it doesn't mean they actually clicked on your listing or anything. It just means it actually showed up on someone's feed. Um those 295,000 views brought me 11,000 clicks. They brought me 603 orders, so over half of my total orders for the month. The amount of revenue my ads specifically brought in was $4,609.40. So, this is like well over half of my revenue came from my ads. And then the total amount that I spent on ads was

5:48$2,633.75. And so, in February, for all of February, my ad spend was set to $110. And Etsy ads, they don't spend like your full ad spend necessarily every time. They only spend you as much as they can get you that amount of clicks cuz they only charge per click. So, in January, because my shop was doing so well and my ad spend was running out quickly, I increased my ad spend to $110, and then I just left it there in February. So, even though things were slower, um I just still just left it there because my ads were still profitable, uh and they weren't spending the full

6:29$110 every day. So, you can see from the beginning of February, they were spending like 80 to 90, sometimes in the 70s, and then towards the end of February, it did go up where I was spending close to that $110 each day. But yeah, I never messed with my ad spend or my ad budget in

6:45February. Um and then the most important number that we always pay attention to uh is going to be the ROAS. And my total ROAS for February was 1.75. And this is still a profitable ROAS. So, really for like digital products, anything over one, a little bit over a little bit over one because you still need to make up for like your Etsy fees and things like that. But anything over one, generally speaking, is going to mean that you are profitable because your ROAS is just a direct correlation of your spend to your revenue. So, 1.75 is still good. It's still profitable, but I usually like to aim for closer to

7:21two. And in the previous months, I was like hitting two or I was really close to two. And so, 1.75 is definitely down from that. And I can kind of pinpoint it, which makes me feel better, uh but it also doesn't make me feel better because the reason this is seems to be that my best-selling product of all time, uh and my ad my product that, you know, eats up a lot of my ad spend, but still gets me a decent return, it stopped performing as well. And I started to get

7:49a lower ROAS on that specific product. And because it uses so much of my ad spend, it brought my total ROAS for the month down. Once I noticed this, I was a little worried, and I'm like trying to tinker around with how to bring this product back to life a little bit. Like I knew this would happen eventually that products start to die out. There's more competition. People, you know, are

8:12making better versions of that product. But nonetheless, it's still a little disappointing to see my best-selling product of all time start to fizzle out a little bit. But not giving up on it. I'm trying to give it give it some life, revamp it a little bit very strategically and very slowly. That way I don't like accidentally ruin it. But yeah, that is like the main reason that my ROAS is lower for February. Um and then in case you missed it, I did finally create a video all about Etsy ads and my personal strategy for Etsy ads, which I will link in the description below if you do want to

8:41check that out because I am a big advocate for Etsy ads. Okay, let's go ahead and jump over to my monthly statement so we can talk about how much profit I actually made, how much money I actually took home. So, under the sales section here, you can see my shop brought in $6,565.01. So, this is like amount of money that my

9:01shop brought in as a whole. Um this is including like my organic sales and my sales from ads. My total fees that I paid, so the Etsy fees were $972.40. So, I have my listing fees, my transaction fees, and my processing fees. I always like to mention this in all videos that the listing fees and transaction fees are the ones that are specific to Etsy. So, like this is kind of like the cost of running an Etsy shop. Um so, out of my $6,500 in sales, uh Etsy's fees specifically took out What is that? Like 500 and 30-something dollars. And then payment processing fees, you're going to pay that on like

9:39any website that you use, even if you host your own website. It's basically just like the cost that the payment processor uses to like run people's credit cards essentially. So, that was around like $443 for that. And then my total marketing costs, so the amount that I spent on Etsy ads was $2,653.07. That brought my total profit for

10:01February to $2,939.54. Now, this is over $1,000 less profit than the previous month. This is just a combination of less revenue, my ads not quite doing as well for the month. But, I will say, considering I like really didn't work on my shop very much in February because I was going through the cross-country move, I cannot complain about almost $3,000 pretty much passively coming in. But, again, like I said at the beginning of this video, starting an Etsy shop is not passive. In the very beginning, you're putting in a lot of work for like no return, essentially. And then, as time goes on, it kind of goes in the other direction

10:40where you can put in less work and still continue to make money. So, I'm kind of like coming out on the other side of that where I can take time off and money still comes in, which was the goal from the beginning. And especially coming up on having another baby where I'm probably like barely going to be able to work, it'll be really nice to have this kind of base set up for me where I can like take some time off and still continue to bring in that money for our family. And one other thing that I forgot to mention in terms of being able to kind of pinpoint why my shop brought

11:09in less money for the month, um was I did have a product that was doing really well that was kind of seasonal. And after January, it fizzled out. So, that also makes sense as to why my shop brought in less money. I always like to have reasons where I can pinpoint it cuz it's gets a little scary when you can't pinpoint it. It feels like kind of out of your control. So, between that product uh kind of fizzling out of its seasonality, and then also my most popular product starting to fizzle out a little bit, um those were going to be like the main reasons that my shop

11:38didn't perform as well. And I wanted to really note that because I think what I'm noticing with Etsy, again, cuz I'm a fairly seasoned seller at this point, right? Like, I've been doing it for over a year, but a year is still not that long in the grand scheme of things. And so, I'm still learning things along the way. And what I'm thinking I'm realizing happens with Etsy is you don't just build your product base, and then it like only just continues to grow as you continue to list more products. You're going to have some things that fizzle out over time just due to increased competition, just changing up trends. In

12:10order to continue to have growth, you have to have your growth outpace your fizzling out of products, right? Otherwise, if your fizzling out of products is outpacing your growth, you're overall just going to go down slowly. Um so, it it is going to require effort to maintain growth over time. So, while the income can become more passive and you can take time off, you can't count on your shop to be able to continue growing unless you are putting more into it. And if you want it to really grow and not just like stay stagnant, then you have to put in more than your products are fizzling out, if

12:47that makes sense. Like, if you're only putting in a little bit, just enough to kind of like match your fizzling out of products, then your shop can probably just remain steady. But, I'm not at a point where I just want it to remain steady yet. I still would like to continue to see it growing, so I'm still going to continue putting in as much effort as possible. So, hopefully in these videos and in my shop this year, we can continue to see growth throughout the year. But, we will see. I will keep

13:10you posted on how everything is going. Going into my second year on Etsy, there is still a lot that I am learning, and I am excited to continue sharing those uh learnings with you. So, thank you so much for watching this video. Thank you guys so much for all of your support on my channel. I truly appreciate it more than you can imagine. And I would be remiss if I did not say at some point in these monthly update videos to remember, while these videos might be some source of inspiration or motivation, they don't

13:36actually show you how to do anything. They're not actually getting you any closer to your goals. So, make sure to check out my other videos that do teach you how to do things and that will get you closer to your goals. Because at the end of the day, what is most important to me is that I am helping you create

13:50your own successful money-making shop. And if you have anything that you want to see that will help you do that, please let me know in the comments below. Again, thank you so much for watching, and I will see you in the next one. Bye.
