This is the full transcript of Claude Duet Is in the Claude App Now (What It Can Do), published on YouTube by Leslie Samuel. Every paragraph carries the moment it was spoken, so you can click any line to jump straight to that point in the video, search the whole thing for a word, or copy it out.
0:00This morning, I went out for a walk, and while I was gone, Claude scheduled a bunch of shorts for me on YouTube. I didn't touch a thing. When I got back to my desk, I opened the Claude app, and there was something new I could add to the sidebar that wasn't there yesterday. So I asked it what it could do now, and its answer makes me excited.
0:19But let me start with the shorts, because that's where the day started. Every day, I publish a new video about AI on this channel, and every one of those videos has moments that could be their own YouTube short or Instagram reel. For a long time, the reels just didn't happen. Cutting them, getting captions done and then uploading them to each platform
0:39is a lot of little work and I've got other things that I need to do. I knew AI could help me with this but it was just another thing to figure out while trying to figure out how in the world I'm gonna be posting a new video every single day. But now I finally got Claude to do it. When I finish a video, Claude edits it and then it goes
0:58through the video and pulls out three to five reels. I gave it one rule. Every reel has to stand on its own. If someone sees it and has never heard of me or the video that it came from, it still has to make sense. Right now, I have 16 reels scheduled over the next five and a half days. Five reels have already been posted
1:18and it's putting out three new ones every single day. I'm recording two videos today. So by tonight, there should be at least six more in the queue. Mind blown. And here's the best part. I don't use a third-party scheduling tool to post my content. There's been some talk that posting through them can actually hurt your reach. I don't know if that's actually true,
1:41but I've always felt more comfortable uploading directly to each platform. So now Claude just opens up my browser and uploads every short itself the same way that I would. To the platform, it looks like I uploaded it because, well, I kind of did. Well, my assistant did. And it gets better. Sometimes a short is scheduled before the full video it came from is published.
2:03So there's nothing to link it to as yet. You can't link to a scheduled video. It has to be live on YouTube. So every day at 12:30 p.m., Claude checks what's been published. If a video just went live, it'll go back to those scheduled shorts, edit them so that they point straight to the video.
2:22I set that up once and now it just happens. And so far it's worked perfectly. Nothing has been broken and nothing has needed fixing. I mean, I'm just not used to saying that about automation. Okay, so now the thing in the sidebar, it's Claude Duet. If you haven't heard of it yet, Duet is Anthropic's AI agent. Instead of you starting every conversation, Duet keeps an eye on your work
2:48and comes to you when something needs your attention. And you can use it like it's your personal or your business assistant. It's their version of what Meta is doing with Muse and what OpenAI is doing with Dots. I've been using Duet since it came out and I really like it. I even made a video about how it caught something my other agents missed,
3:06but I had one problem with it. It lived in its own app on my phone or in a browser tab on my computer. And on my computer, I kept forgetting it was there. With Dots, I just open up ChatGPT and it's right there. With Duet, I had to go looking for it. And most days I found that I just didn't. Now it's sitting right in the sidebar of my
3:27Claude app next to the chats and my projects. And if you have access to it and you don't see it, you just have to edit your sidebar and then you can add it. So I asked Duet, now that you're in the app, what does this make possible for me? It said it was mostly the same Duet, but on a bigger screen, same chats, same tasks. And it doesn't get control of my computer just
3:48because I opened it on the desktop app. But it did tell me a few things that are really useful. It shares the same memory as the rest of my Claude. So I'm not explaining myself all over again. If I have the Claude extension running in Chrome, it can use my browser to finish a job on a site where I'm already signed in
4:07when its own browser gets stuck at sign in. And it can see the work Claude is doing for me on the coding side of the app. And that work can hand a task over to Duet. I haven't tested out the last part yet, but my wheels are already turning. It's still a little rough around the edges,
4:22but it's headed in the right direction and that's exciting for me. What changed for me is mostly convenience and convenience was exactly my problem because the tool I actually open is the tool that I actually use. And Duet is just one piece of something bigger. When I look at the sidebar now, I see my chats, my projects, design for anything visual, Duet and a customized section full of skills for things like
4:50managing your finances and running different parts of your business. The part that used to be called Cowork got folded right into chat. Not that long ago, I was bouncing between different apps and tabs. Now it's all in one place and I'm finding myself using Claude a whole lot more for everything. I'm also using it better. I'm setting up skills that do actual jobs for me, like the reels that I was talking about,
5:15and they're doing them so much better than they used to. I kind of feel like this is the rebirth of Claude. By the way, if you find this helpful, subscribe. Every day, I show you how I'm using AI in my real business and my real life so that you can use it to save time and stay ahead in yours. There's one more new feature I wanted to mention,
5:34and I don't even have access to it yet, but I can't wait to get it. It's called Claude Motion, and it makes animated videos by writing them as code. Now, this means that if you wanna change one word or one object, you change just that piece instead of making the whole video again. And it doesn't burn as many tokens.
5:54And don't worry, you're not actually touching any code. You're just speaking to Claude like you normally do. And it does the code stuff in the background so that the videos can be fully and easily edited. Now, as someone who makes a video every single day, I love that they're thinking about stuff like this.
6:12When I get access, you know I'm gonna be testing it. Now, does all of this mean you should drop ChatGPT and switch to Claude? Well, not necessarily. Most of the people I meet use ChatGPT. And all the major tools are good enough now that you can stick with whatever you're comfortable with. Since I teach this stuff, I try to use them all so that I can best serve you. But for me personally, Anthropic is the company I trust
6:35the most right now when it comes to their leadership. And it feels like they're building for people like us, people running businesses. So if you're already paying for Claude or you've been curious about it, this is a really good time to take another look. Pick one job you keep putting off, like I did with my reels,
6:52and see if Claude can take it off your plate. Now, I have a different question for you today. What question do you have for me? I would love to know what you wanna learn about so that I can help you even more with my videos. Let me know in the comments. Anyhow, that's it for this video and I'll see you in the next one.
7:07Peace out.
