This is the full transcript of AI Trading Is a Lie: I Lost Real Money Twice, published on YouTube by Creator Magic. Every paragraph carries the moment it was spoken, so you can click any line to jump straight to that point in the video, search the whole thing for a word, or copy it out.
0:00I gave my Grok bot $3,000 and went to sleep. 9 hours later, $12,500. That post has 740,000 views. This Claude bot on Polymarket made $78,000 in 5 days. A million views. And then there's this one. A 19-year-old student built an AI trading bot with Claude Code in 2 days. That's my favorite, by the way, because it's not just one post, it's the same post copied word for word 14 times by 7 different accounts, and
0:33together over 2 million views. And this is the best bit, in my opinion. In the first one, the student is American. A day later, he's Japanese. Same student, same bot, same profit, different countries. What exactly is going on here? Well, I've got to say it, since I've started my experiments, my X feed has
0:55become full of AI trading bots making people rich overnight. Yes. So I went out and tested it with my own money twice. And today I'm going to show you exactly what happened to me, because I think that AI trading, the switch it on and go to sleep thing, is a lie. And I think real people are actually getting hurt by this.
1:17And this is the pure ethical thing. This is why I'm doing this video, because 30 days ago, I gave 3 AI trading bots $999, basically real money, a real crypto exchange, every single trade live on a website anyone could watch. I called them bees: Breezy, Bizzy, and Boozy. 75,000 of you came in and watched them trade live. Yes, there's a lot of eyeballs that want to watch this kind of thing because it's kind of exciting, the idea of printing money or going to sleep with AI
1:51working for you and waking up rich. Okay, now take a look at day 30. $999 went in, $786 or so out, down $213, minus 21% if you want it in percentages. And that's before AI billed me and I had to pay for the trading fees and everything else. Add the $40-odd it takes AI to do whatever it does, I mean, that's not bad, is it?
2:20But it's still minus 25. Okay, now compare that if I'd done nothing, if I'd just been at zero, and if I just bought Bitcoin and walked away, right? I'd be down about 3.5%. My AI trading bots lost 6 times more than just holding Bitcoin. This is ridiculous. They won 40% of their trades, which means they lost 60% of their trades.
2:48And the best day of the whole experiment for me It was day one. The excitement, the dopamine. Up 3%. Wow. Amazing. They never got it back again. Here's the part I think that you should really pay attention to. Okay. Every time it went wrong, the answer was the same. Just make AI smarter. Try a new model. Go from Astra 6 to Opus 5.5.
3:10Try the new Gemini 4 Argon. Week 1, the AI picked what trades it was going to do. It went down 13%. 1 winning trade out of 16. That's just insane. So then I bought in the Beekeeper and its only job in my experiment I ran over the last month was to watch my bees trading and rewrite their rules.
3:32It rewrote them 29 times and it was totally furious. My bees were losing money like crazy. Brilliant lines, but It made the bees lose more money. So then I rebuilt the whole experiment with a better AI model, as you may have seen, for 12 days with Gemini Argon 4, and it made, hmm, That's the smartest version of my trading bees. Yes, they stopped losing eventually, but they never, never started winning. Oh, and Boozy, my degen, Boozy went into meme coins from the
4:06start, from day one, and lost 45% of its money. now if this all sounds familiar, it's because I've actually done this experiment before. This is not the first time I've tried this. Back in February, I went with lobsters. You know, when OpenClaw was a big thing, AI agents trading on their own, real money, and the same promise.
4:27And then about 340,000 of you watched that series. So again, eyeballs watching this thinking, is there a way to make money with AI? Can I print overnight? Well, 22 days in, they were about $100 up. Sounds phenomenal, right? My lobsters are winning. Except it was costing me around $530 a month for all the infra, everything I was running. And back then I was using API credits because of course
4:54OpenClaw wouldn't let me use my Claude Max plan. So really I was losing a lot more money than I was making on paper in front of you guys. And that series never got an ending. So this video is kind of that ending. And it wasn't a happy ending to film. None of this is a happy ending to film.
5:13I said something back then that I think should really stick with you. These agents report their own balances and AI sometimes hallucinates and lies. So that's two AI trading experiments with 2 different setups, real money both times, and neither one of them made me money. Pay attention to that. Neither one of these experiments made me money.
5:34They cost me a lot to run. Yes, a lot of you watched. I got a little bit in Google revenue from you watching my YouTube video, but nowhere near enough to pay back all of the costs and all of the losses from the experiment. So we have to ask the question: Why is your feed full of people turning
5:51$50 into thousands overnight? I ran one more experiment. I made 200,000 fake trading bots. No AI, no brain, nothing. They just flipped a coin for me: buy, sell, or sit out. And I ran them over exactly the same 30 days as my bees. I was doing this in the background. 35% of them made a profit. 35%
6:13from a coin flip. They're monkeys. And only about 3 in 100 did as badly as my AI bees. Think about that. 3 in 100. Okay, to be fair, the coin flip bots only traded in Bitcoin. My bees traded wider coins and tried all kinds of things. But think about what that actually means. Give 1,000 people a trading bot that literally flips a coin, and after a
6:37month, about 400 of them will have a profit screenshot to show you. And those 400 are the ones who actually post and say, hey, look, my bot's just made money. The other 600 don't tell you anything. You never see them. No one wants to hear a bad story, right? Hey, I tried to make money with AI trading and it never worked. And that's before anyone goes and fakes anything or manipulates or shows
6:59you simulations and stuff like that. Now remember that Grok bot turned $50 into over $5,000. 1.2 million views. X readers even added a note to it, which I think helps a little bit. It says the dashboard in the video is fabricated and the account behind it was trading months before the bot supposedly started.
7:21But it's still up and it's still getting eyeballs. So here's the thing. I'm not just being grumpy. I'm not just telling you this because I lost money twice. The regulators have actually been saying this for years, and I want you to pay attention to this. This is advice from me. You will lose money if you do this and you don't know what you're doing. The US regulator, the CFTC, put out a warning with this title, and you should pay attention to it: AI
7:49won't turn trading bots into money machines. Yes, an official US organization said that. Their words: instead of getting automatic money-making machines, customers lost tens of millions of dollars. The biggest case they've ever brought was an trading bot. Mirror Trading International, over $1.7 billion of Bitcoin from tens of thousands of people, and there was no bot.
8:15It's a Ponzi scheme. Okay, I want you to pay attention to this. Now, just last month, the SEC charged two more. Both sold AI trading bots. Neither one did any trading at all. $15 million. And by the way, my friends in the UK, nearly two-thirds of 18 to 29-year-olds follow influencers who promote this kind of stuff. Two-thirds of people in a vulnerable age range are following people who are telling them to set up
8:46AI trading bots because they can make thousands or millions. And here's the other thing that I read when I was digging into this and looking for myself. Three-quarters of them say they actually trust what these influencers say. This is just mind-blowing. I'm trying to be the antidote to that. I'm someone with, you know, a few people who watch me on YouTube and have
9:05watched these experiments. The regulators have words for you: potentially vulnerable. And when someone does get caught, 7 influencers, 4.5 million followers between them. They pleaded guilty to promoting an unauthorized trading scheme. There are sharks in this water. They're after your money. This is crazy. But get this, the smallest fine that any one of these people got for doing this,
9:31£600. £600. that blows my mind. And 3 more were charged last year. Their trials are in 2027. So is nothing being done about this? Well, not nothing, but nowhere near enough, in my opinion. After trying this twice, I can tell you with authority, this is not a way to make money. Because these posts that I've shown you from the start of this video, they
9:54are still up circling around X and other platforms. So it got me to thinking, somewhere along the line, somebody is making money from all of this AI trading and look, my AI bot made me rich overnight. Go back to the Claude bot on Polymarket, the $78,000. Read to the end of the post, comment the word code, like and retweet, follow me so I can send it to
10:18you. That's the product, not the bot. You, you're the product, your follow, your comment, your attention. And this is the thing that really gets to me. Next week, the account will probably try and sell you a course or a bot template or a coin. And the exchange, well, the exchange gets paid on every single trade
10:35regardless you win or lose, right? My bees traded $72,000 of positions with a $999 stake. The exchange got its cut every single time. Those exchanges make money whether you win or lose. It doesn't matter. Someone is making money. And I'm telling you, it's not going to be you. It won't be you. Definitely not doing this.
10:57Okay, so I've said enough. Hopefully I've concluded both of my AI trading experiments now. And I'd like to put an open challenge out there to you in the comments or wherever you are on socials. It's basically open to anyone. If you've really got an AI trading bot and it makes you money on its own, show me,
11:14show me that bot. I don't want a screenshot. I don't want a backtest. I don't want a first night, $6,000, I got lucky. Give me some read-only access to a live account starting from today. Like literally the moment I publish this video, leave it running for 6 months. Do not touch it. Do not alter it and beat simply holding Bitcoin or something else like that, or
11:37a savings account or something. After fees, after all your AI bills, steady gains, not one lucky bet. I don't think it can be done. Okay? I don't think this can be done. And, you know, I'd love to be proven wrong. I'd love to see someone who's built something that prints money. But I think if someone had done that, they'll either keep it to themselves
12:00or everyone else would be doing it and we'd all be mega rich, right? Now, I just want to end this video to say this is definitely not financial advice. In fact, it's quite the opposite. And I hope you're gathering that from the video. It's me spending my money twice so you don't have to spend yours. If someone Someone online promises you that, money can be made while you sleep with AI trading, close the app, unfollow them, block them, mark them
12:24as scammers, whatever you can do. And if you know someone who's been sending money to one of these, send them this video. The bees are still running for a little bit at the website I spun up. If you want to watch them not make money live, I'll leave it going for a bit before I take it down.
12:41But I'm Mike Russell from Creator Magic. And YouTube is showing a video on your screen now, hopefully not one about AI trading bots, that you should watch next. Thanks.
