0:00So, will doing less on LinkedIn actually help you land more job interviews? My honest answer, yes, 100% yes. And in this video, I'm going to show you the new way job seekers are using LinkedIn to attract recruiters and hiring managers without applying for hundreds of roles, without the job boards, and without competing against 500 other applicants on the same posting. And the best part, it's actually less work and leads to more interviews. Now, to understand why this works, you need to know what's happened in the job market since it's been flooded with AI tools from all angles. Now, previously, things were easy by comparison, but we're
0:38seeing a downward spiral. Job seekers are frustrated with recruiters using automation tools. So, in response, they've been doing the same. The idea being that you can now put your feet up, send hundreds of applications on autopilot, and watch the interviews roll in. It sounds great, doesn't it? But what's happening is that people are simply accelerating the speed at which they're getting rejected. It's a case of apply, apply, apply, refresh your inbox, get rejected, repeat. Now, as a former recruiter turned career coach, I've spoken to people who have sent upwards of 3,000 applications and still heard nothing. And while you may not have hit 300 rejections yet, you know how painful
1:17this can be because you're living it. The new way job seekers are winning is by doing the opposite. They're getting found. Recruiters are coming to them, and my clients have done this time and time again, landing roles in just 60 days or less. Some of them went from zero interviews in two months to six interviews in six days using this exact strategy. Others have been searching for two years before making the breakthrough. And in some cases, they got hired not just once, but twice because they simply couldn't turn down what they'd been offered. And if you think that sounds far-fetched, take a look at my LinkedIn recommendations
1:52where you can see what other clients have had to say, too. Now, if you want results like these two, hit that subscribe button and stick around because I'm going to give you the simple three steps you need to follow. So, step one, LinkedIn SEO. Because when you're applying online, you're working for attention. But with LinkedIn SEO, that's attention working for you. And the result, you show up in more recruiter searches and your inbox fills up with opportunities. You see, when recruiters have the choice of filtering through thousands of applications to find that perfect fit for their openings or running a quick search on their own terms, they typically opt for the
2:30latter. Why? Because they're human, too, and it's less work. So, what they do is jump over to LinkedIn and literally type whatever they're looking for. They literally type VP, marketing, and London. Clinical project manager and oncology. Senior accountant and IFRS. And the people who appear in the top 20 results usually get contacted. Effectively, they use LinkedIn like you use Google search. So, if you're not appearing on those first two, three, or four pages, recruiters may not ever see you. Not because you're not qualified, but because LinkedIn doesn't understand what you do and the recruiters have already found three or four people to speak to. Now, the fix is keywords, but
3:13I can't stress this enough. The keywords you need are simply what you want to be found for or the words recruiters are most likely to enter in that search bar when trying to fill the types of roles that you're targeting. So, take a leaf out of this New York based restaurant that went viral and don't overcomplicate things. Choose your role, choose your
3:33specialism, and choose your sector. Think about the specific skills required and most importantly, think about what people will be searching for. Now, these are all keywords and they should be showing up in four places: your headline, your about section, the first two lines especially, your experience job titles, your experienced descriptions. And I'm talking about an exact match, not variations, not five creative versions of the same title. If you want to be found as a chief technical officer or CTO, then be a chief technical officer or CTO everywhere. Not tech leader, not head of tech strategy, not transformative executive, actually not anything but a chief technical officer or CTO. Because
4:17I can assure you that is what recruiters will be searching for. So yeah, fix your keywords. Find 10 to 20 jobs you like the look of, study the most frequently used words in the job descriptions, and if they apply to you, add them to your profile. Okay? Enough of that, step two. Turn your profile into a landing page, because being found is only half the game. Once people land on your profile, you have five to seven seconds to convert them from hmm, maybe, to I need to message this person. So to convert visitors, you need a couple of things, and they vary depending on whether you're targeting full-time work as an
4:54employee or as an independent contractor or consultant. So the first of which is measurable results, not tasks, and this also helps with your SEO, by the way. So most people leave their experience and about sections blank. Don't do that. Other people share personal stories, and some just list responsibilities. Don't do that, either. Recruiters don't care about your personal story, yeah, and neither do they care what you were responsible for. At this stage, they care about what you delivered. So for example, instead of saying managed social media accounts, highlight that you grew engagement by 140% in 6 months
5:30through a targeted content strategy. Instead of just saying supported project delivery, add on that, delivered 12 clinical studies ahead of schedule, reducing trial delays by 28%. Numbers get attention, numbers create trust, and numbers equal interviews. Oh, and dollar signs, too, If you're in sales or if you're a consultant and your work has helped companies make money or save money, note that stuff down because we all know that money talks. [snorts] And this applies to both sides. Job seekers, prove your impact. Freelancers, prove your ROI. Now, as a quick segue here, if you're a freelancer, it's also a good idea to show proof of your work. So,
6:09this could be a profile of your work, a GitHub site or website, whatever. And you can link these things in your header or via your featured section. Of course, if you've not got anything like that just yet, it's worth checking out my video about using your LinkedIn profile and AI to create a killer website in 5 minutes flat. And then the third thing that you should add to your profile is recommendations. Now, these aren't necessarily going to help with your SEO, but this is about social proof and
6:36backing up the quality of your work. Now, naturally, a recommendation from an old work buddy isn't going to hold much weight, but if you've got a former employer holding a senior position singing your praises, it's going to help. And believe me, if you've hooked a recruiter with your profile and they like the look of your achievements you've shared, they're going to take a look to see if you have any recommendations. It's human nature. We all do it. We do it when shopping on Amazon, we do it when booking restaurants, and we do it when booking holidays. And after reading those recommendations, we begin to create a
7:06mental picture in our minds. Well, this is your chance to build that picture for anyone visiting your profile. And this is your chance to give yourself an unfair advantage. Because like it or not, we carry biases. And even just a single strong recommendation from a credible source can boost your chances of securing that call more than 20 bullet points ever will. Okay? So, now that you've got your profile working for you, it's attracting recruiter views and converting those profile views to opportunities in your inbox. The third
7:36step is like pouring fuel on the fire. And it's this part that has helped my clients completely blow up their LinkedIn because it quite literally forces LinkedIn to push your profile even higher in the search results while allowing you to build KLT. And by that I mean that people feel like they know you, they like you, and trust you. And what I call creating power content on LinkedIn. Now, all of my clients follow the same EBC method which consists of entertaining content, valuable content, and credible content. But what you need to know is that there's also a proven framework that will help your post go viral without having to post anything
8:16overly personal or cringeworthy. It's very simple and it looks like this. The hook, the re-hook, the body of the post, and then the call to action. So, what you want people to do. So, let me explain. The hook is quite literally the most important part of your post, particularly on LinkedIn because if that doesn't do the job of stopping the scroll, well, nobody will click the see more button to read the rest of the post. And that's why inside my Career Growth Accelerator program, I give clients access to my LinkedIn hook vault which is packed full of 500 plus plug-and-play viral LinkedIn hook templates as well as my ChatGPT mega
8:53prompt that will help you write viral LinkedIn posts effortlessly. Now, next comes the re-hook which builds on the hook and creates a curiosity gap that almost forces people to read on so that they can get the answers they're looking for. And of course, the next part of the post, the body, needs to give the reader
9:10the answers that they're looking for. So, this is where the value is. You might be educating them, entertaining them, or simply telling a story. And then you're going to close your post off with a CTA. So, you might be driving engagement by asking people to repost or respond with their thoughts. Alternatively, if you're a consultant or freelancer, you might be driving them off to your resources where they could perhaps inquire with you. Either way, if you follow this framework, you're going to see your engagement skyrocket and you can now track the impact that has on your follower count. So, if you jump into post analytics, you can now view
9:47this screen which goes into detail. So, this is actually from one of my posts because only you can see this information. But, like I said, not only do I give this framework to my clients, but I also use it myself and that's how I know it works. So, right here is my hook. She applied to 50 jobs, zero replies. And then the re-hook, "Then this happened." Okay? Now, if you want to know what happened, it means my hook and re-hook have done their job and you'd be like the thousands on LinkedIn who clicked see more to read the rest of the story and get the advice. So, the
10:19post got over 1 million views and led to 7 and 1/2 thousand profile visits and helped me gain over 2,000 followers. Look, posts like this mean I'm always fully booked and get more inquiries than I can manage and it's completely inbound. I'm not messaging anyone to say, "Hey, can I apply to be your job search coach?" I just follow the
10:38framework and that was just one post. Crazy, right? Now, imagine you did the same and imagine your profile was set up specifically to convert recruiter views to interviews or freelance opportunities. Now, here's what my inbox often looks like and for my clients, it's often led to them getting hired in less than 60 days and then moving jobs again just months later because employers have bombarded them with opportunities with more money and bigger titles. All because they followed the step-by-step process outlined in this video. So, now it's your turn. If you want to show up at the top of recruiter searches, turn your profile into a magnet for opportunities, and start
11:18doing less but getting better results, then implement these three steps. And if you want my help with this using the system that's now helped hundreds of my clients move from feeling helpless to getting hired and then headhunted, click the link in the description where you can apply for the program now. I'll see you there.
