This is the full transcript of 10 AI Video Editing Hacks You NEED To Know As A Creator, published on YouTube by Modern Millie. Every paragraph carries the moment it was spoken, so you can click any line to jump straight to that point in the video, search the whole thing for a word, or copy it out.
0:04There's a fine line with AI and the content creator world. And for me, I'm all for using it when it makes a process automated or more efficient without AI getting in the way of my creativity and uniqueness as a content creator. So, my team and I hunted down the top 10 best AI video editing hacks that you need to know the most as a content creator. most of which my team and I are actually using. So, in this video, we're going to cover things like automating cuts on your video edits, how to improve your audio quality so it sounds like you have a mic even when you didn't, AIdriven
0:43storyboarding, and a genuinely easy way to repurpose your content. As always, timestamps are below. Use them if you need them. Let's jump in. First, let me reiterate this video is about AI for efficiency. We are not getting into anything AI video generation or replacing you as the creator with AI. So that's out of the way. Let's move on to our first hack. Hack number one, getting
1:09that first rough cut automatically done. Automated video trimming might just be my most used AI video editing hack. We usually use an app called Gle. It's my personal favorite for this. You can cut silences and bad takes, remove filler words, and get your first rough cut of your video done in seconds. I use this
1:33the most with editing my course content. I'm constantly upgrading the BSP model throughout the whole year, and there's over 100 video trainings within BSP. And that's a lot of videos to edit. So, when we discovered Gleing, it was a huge relief. Basically, I'll just upload the raw footage directly into Gleing. I'll select what I want Ging to do. It's usually just like cutting the fluff, removing bad takes, cutting awkward pauses, and then Ging edits the video for me. When it's done processing, you can edit your video using the transcription that it generates too on the side. This is super helpful for me to just kind of like skim through the
2:11transcript and make sure nothing was accidentally cut or nothing was accidentally forgotten to be cut out. Gling has definitely gotten more advanced since I first discovered it maybe about two years ago because in the beginning it was just simple edits and now it's definitely gotten more advanced with more editing options. But I typically just stick to the basics of getting my first rough cut done, exporting it, and then uploading it to Adobe Premiere Pro to finish doing final tweaks. Gle has a free plan that allows you to edit up to 1 hour of video footage per month. So, if you're just getting started editing a couple short
2:47form videos, this is a great place to start when automating that first rough cut. And when you're ready to upgrade, it costs $20 a month for 10 hours of footage to be edited. Hack number two is enhanced audio. This is one that I have been talking about in my videos probably for a long time. And if you watch any other videos on my channel, you probably already know about this, but I use this one all the time whenever I don't have an opportunity to grab a mic before filming my short form content. And basically, you can use AI to enhance your voice or your audio, remove
3:22background noises, isolate your voice so that your audio can sound a lot more crisp in your final version of your video. There are a lot of tools that offer this. A lot of editing apps that offer this and each one does this a little bit differently. Some do a better job than others. I personally when I use like Cap Cuts enhanced audio feature, I feel like it makes your voice sound more echoey instead of crisp. So my absolute favorite tool for this is Adobe Premiere on mobile. Whatever they have in that
3:53tool, it's just honestly Chef's Kiss. Their enhanced audio feature is so crisp, so clean. It truly sounds like you recorded with a highquality microphone. I'll insert clips here of like before and afters. Consistency is key for growing on social media, right? Consistency is key for growing on social media, right? Using the feature is free and easy to use. So, whenever you're in the app editing a video, if you just click on the clip that you want the enhance audio to apply to, you just click on it and then press enhance audio and turn it on and it'll start the analysis and 5 seconds later your video
4:30sounds pretty crisp. They also have a feature in Adobe Premiere on desktop. So, I also have an Adobe Premiere desktop tutorial. So, if you want to watch how to get comfortable with editing on desktop with Adobe, you could watch that video next. But I truly think their enhance audio feature is top tier of all the tools we're talking about today. Adobe is going to be the most expensive tool. If you're editing using Adobe Premiere on your phone, the app is free. If you're editing on your desktop, I believe Adobe Premiere on its own costs $35 a month. But like I said, there are a lot of other tools that
5:06offer enhanced audio like we talked about Cap Cut. Gling also offers this as an option if you're editing in Glang. And I'm sure a lot of the other tools that I mentioned throughout this video could have alternatives, but like I said, the Adobe Premiere mobile one is just top tier. Hack three is auto captions and subtitles. So, adding captions and subtitles. This is not a
5:26new thing on your short form content. It's also not a new hack. You know, there are plenty of tools and resources that allow you to auto apply subtitles onto your content. For example, the most popular one is probably Submagic. My team and I have used Submagic. We love Submagic. But here's the thing. What I'm looking for when I'm applying these automated closed captions. Like I want it to be aesthetic. You know, I don't
5:54want it to look like a standard font. And yes, you can update and have like a brand kit in Submagic, but there's still limitations to the aestheticness that you could achieve within Submagic. So, if you want captions that are going to match your brand and want to make your videos feel more elevated and more aesthetic, then what I recommend using is the Templify app. This is probably my favorite app that you could use to auto add captions to your videos because they have so many options and it's like very stylistic. They have a bunch of viral fonts and aesthetic options that you could choose from. And when you find one
6:35that you feel like matches the vibe that you're going for, you just click generate captions and it automatically applies it to your video. Then of course, I love that you could also like customize and make tweaks any way you want with captions that were already autogenerated. So like if Templify generated one of the words to like be sideways cuz it's like it matches the style, but I wanted that word to be like front and center, I could just tap the word and rearrange it, make it bigger, change the color. So, there's still a lot of customization that you could apply after you've achieved the aesthetic that you're going for. There
7:07is a free version of Templify that is absolutely amazing. If at any point you want to upgrade to Templify Pro, you can. At the time of filming this, it's $12 a month. And I believe the app is only available to iPhone at the time of filming. So far, with the three tools that we have talked about, you've probably noticed a pattern. They're not necessarily creating the content for you. that they're taking care of like the repetitive parts of the editing process so that you have more time to focus on the parts that actually matter, which is like your ideas, your story, your unique voice as a creator. And as
7:41more AI content starts flooding the internet, sounding like yourself is going to become the most important part of being a creator. AI can help you create faster, but it should never make your content feel less like you. So, if you want to use AI without sounding like everyone else, then there's this free guide from HubSpot called Create Authentic AI content that actually converts. That's exactly what you need if that's a huge goal of yours. It's basically a stepbystep playbook that breaks down the exact system that top creators use to create authentic content without using their human voice. Inside of the free guide, there are two frameworks that I personally think you
8:27would love. The first is called RIFF, which stands for role, instructions, and format. And it teaches you how to give AI direction that's specific enough to get the output that actually sounds like you instead of sounding like a generic robot, you know, content that we could probably all spot from a mile away at this point. And then the second framework is called chef. Not another acronym. It's actually a cooking metaphor for the four-step process for creating content with AI, refining it into your voice, and then scaling it. My favorite part is that this guide shows you how to build custom AI assistants that remember your brand voice, your
9:08tone, your formatting rules, so you're not having to like reexlain who you are every time you open a new chat. These are the same methods that have helped creators grow 97,000 followers and get over 30 million impressions on their content. So, you could download the guide completely for free using the link in the description below. And a huge thank you to HubSpot for sponsoring this video. Now, let's get back into it because this next editing hack might
9:35just save your sanity as it did mine. This is video organization. And to be honest, I had no idea this existed before doing research for this video. And it's so funny because my husband and I, we were just talking about how annoying it is to like have to build our own B-roll folders and like organize footage that it's just let me tell you about it and then you your mind could
9:59probably be blown as much as mine was. So, you can use a tool called clip tag to categorize and tag your footage based on its content. and it will even rename the footage so that you never have to spend hours looking for a single clip again. So, if you're somebody who has ever like scrolled through your phone library looking for specific B-roll footage that you got from like months ago, you will know how valuable this can be. You can create like your own story blocks. Y'all know about story blocks because we use story blocks. I love story blocks. I've talked about them here on this channel. It's like you
10:37could create your own organized footage library that's named correctly and easy to find. I feel like I'm explaining this horribly, but it's a game changer. This is one of the AI tools that can genuinely take hours of tedious work off of your plate. You simply just upload your clips into clip tag. It will rename them and sort them into folders, tag videos for easy sorting, and even spot weak shots, which can help clean up your footage, too. This is also helpful if you have a team that needs to access your files or look through your footage and find certain clips and maybe they don't know what you saved it as or what
11:14it's saved as or where it's organized. It's so easy for people to find what they're looking for searching through your content. Clip tag has a free to use plan and then you can upgrade depending on how many files you need to organize per month. But what I really like about their pricing is that your credits will roll over to the next month if you end up not using them during a month time frame. Their plans start at about $7 a month for 500 files and $13 a month for a,000 files, which like I feel like is a pretty good deal. So, it's definitely one that you're going to have to check
11:47out. If you've learned something new so far, consider giving this video a thumbs up since it tells YouTube that other creators like yourself find it useful. And if you learn two new things by the end of this video, consider subscribing since it's a simple and free way to support me and my content and allows me to create free videos like this for you every single week. Hack five is automatically adding B-roll into your video editing. If you have a long talking head video like the one you're watching, one of the best ways to keep viewers engaged is through B-roll. Y'all
12:16already know that I love me some B-roll. And these days, there are some helpful AI tools that can take your talking head video and then automatically add relevant B-roll where it makes sense. A tool that I've seen this work well on is Opus Clip. I feel like it's a very popular AI video editing tool with a lot of cool features. They use the pixels library of B-roll footage, which gives their editing software an advantage when it comes to finding relevant shots for you and your content. There's also an option for you to just upload your own B-roll clips. And then the AI tool will place those clips where it feels
12:56relevant for your video. The starter plan on OpusClip is $15 a month and the pro plan is $30 a month. That was fun to say. The pro plan is $30 a month. If you switch to pay for Opus Clip yearly, you can save 50% on either plan. All right, hack number six. What about like all in one video editor? You know, with how can
13:18you get that first rough cut done? Cutting bad takes, silences, adding auto captions, doing auto zooms, AI editing. So many things to think about when editing your video and keeping the video engaging. I mentioned this tool earlier and that's Submagic. If you're just looking for like an all-in-one AI video editing tool that you just want to play with as like a first time testing AI video editing, then I would probably recommend Submagic. It's $12 a month for 15 videos. And with that, you also get three AI credits. Within that 12-month plan, you could do simple edits like the removing bad takes, cutting silences, simple things like that. But on their
14:00$23 a month plan, you can edit up to 40 videos and you also can do other cool things like they have a AI hook title where it'll like generate the AI hook, you know, the text hook that appears at the beginning of your video. You could do the enhance audio or AI clean audio. This is where you could create your own brand kit so that the captions that you generate don't look like boring [laughter] or standard, but you could have it look
14:29more customized for you and your brand. Also, on the $23 a month plan, you could like publish your videos to Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube, etc. Submagic, like I said, is a tool my team and I have used before. And it's also the tool that like if we just need a quick edit done and we need quick turnaround, we're just like, "All right, let's just upload it to Submagic, use the brand fonts, just let's see how quickly we could get this video done." Specifically short form content, I'll say. I haven't done any long form with Submagic. I'm just talking short form. Typically, Gling is what my team and I use for long form and
15:05then Submagic is what like we've kind of defaulted to when we're in a time pinch for submagic. Yeah, speaking of short form content and hooks, if you're somebody who wants to create engaging short form videos with solid hooks, I do have a free 75 hooks guide. It's 75 proven viral hooks completely for free that you could just like copy paste and use into your own content. If that's something that sounds interesting to you, I'll be sure to leave that link down in the description below. Hack number seven is video background removal. Background removal has honestly been so huge to adding advanced editing elements throughout your video. I don't
15:45know how to best explain this. I've done like a 10 cap cut editing hacks video. I've done a 10 Adobe Premiere hacks video and a lot of the cool editing hacks of like getting the text behind you or like a Spotify scrolling on your phone effect. There's so many cool things that you can do when you're able
16:04to remove the background of a video. Tools that you could use to do this are CF cut, Adobe Premiere, and in case you don't know, you could also do this in Canva. It is a Canva Pro feature. So, you would need to have a Canva subscription to do that. But if you're already editing in Canva, it's pretty simple to do. You just start a new project, upload your video, click on the option for BG removal, background removal, and then Canva will just remove the background from your video, and then you could add all of those other fun elements with your edit. In case it wasn't clear, you could remove
16:41background on Adobe Premiere, both mobile and desktop. Video editing hack number eight is syncing clips to music. This is one of those AI editing features that honestly I feel like just keeps getting better and better. It allows you to upload multiple clips and then autosync your clips with the beat of the music. I remember the days where I would like be editing and then like I would have the music in the background of my vlog or something. Usually I'm editing short form and then I'd like play and then try to pause right when the beat so I could like clip it or cut it, delete and then like okay play pause to like
17:16get the beats just right in a song. And now this is something that like editing apps do for you already. I can't think of a tool that doesn't have this. You could do this in Canva, Cap Cut, Tik Tok's editor. I don't know about Instagram's inapp editor, but I'm pretty sure Edits has it. So, if you're somebody that likes to edit to the music and the beat of the song, just like autogenerate beats and then you'll see those beats appear and then you can finally edit your video cuts pacing specifically to the song and the rhythm of the song, which I personally believe actually helps with the retention of
17:54your video. When your video is edited in time with the music, it's more visually appealing for the audience and it keeps them watching just a little bit longer. So, if you're adding music, make sure you're editing to the beat of the music. Hack nine is about repurposing content. Let's talk about repurposing content. Maybe there's like lots of definitions when it comes to repurposing content because it'll depend on the type of creator you are. For example, if you're a YouTuber, repurposing content might look like taking a long form video, clipping it into short form content, and then like repurposing that to short form platforms. Or if you're a Tik Tok
18:31creator and you have one video here, repurposing that might just look like, okay, I edited this video. Now, let me post it to reals and shorts. So, there's different definitions of repurposing. And before I share my favorite tools for repurposing really easily, I also want to say if you're a creator who is just getting started, you do not need to repurpose content. You do not need to be posting multiple places at once. you can just grow on one platform. Start with one, go all in. Once the traction starts building and once the ball starts rolling there, then you could explore repurposing. But yeah, I don't want to
19:10give this tip and then have it be assumed like, oh, I need to be repurposing my content if I want to be successful. Like, that's not the case. This is specifically for creators who maybe you've already established a presence or a platform and you're ready to start diversifying your platforms and repurposing them elsewhere. So with that said, four places that I think are great with repurposing content depending again
19:34on what repurposing looks like for you. One will be Opus Clip. I had mentioned Opus Clip before in this video and they have a bunch of features. So with this one, what I like is if I've already posted a YouTube video, it's already live on my channel. I could copy the link to that video, paste that link into Opus Clip, tell OpusClip what I want it to do with repurposing, and it'll basically do the rest for me. So, it takes an already existing long- form clip or piece of content that's live, and I just paste the link there, and it does the rest. Another really cool long
20:09form to short form repurposing tool is Riverside. A lot of people know Riverside for like podcasting and I've done a few podcast episodes in Riverside and I love Riverside. What I find the coolest about their platform is when you're editing long form videos because like I could upload this footage into Riverside and not only can I edit the YouTube video in Riverside, but Riverside has AI tools and they do something called magic clips where it'll automatically edit short form videos
20:41from this YouTube video you're watching. And I think that's amazing. I don't have to edit the short form. It automatically detects the best moments of my long form video. Boom. Shakalaka. I have magic clips that I could then go on to schedule or post onto short form. And within Riverside, you can, depending on which plan you're on, there's like a $24 a month plan and a $34 a month plan. On the $24 a month plan, you can just post those magic clips. On the $34 a month
21:09plan, you can schedule magic clips out. So, if there's like five clips from one YouTube video I like, I could schedule them out over time. So, if you're doing like long form, whether YouTube or podcasts to short form repurposing, I think Riverside could be a cool tool. Now, let's talk about short form repurposing. There's two platforms that I really like for short form repurposing. Metricool, which is what my team and I currently use, and Repurpose.io, which I know is really popular, but not one my team and I use at the moment. Metricle is pretty much free. And I say pretty much because if you are a solo creator and you want to
21:46repurpose your short form to multiple platforms, you can schedule up to 20 videos a month on the free plan, which I feel like that could be plenty. If you want to schedule unlimited posts per month, then you could go to their starter plan, which I think is $10 a month. So metrical, great cost. If you're already, let's say, okay, here's the process. If you already have a video edited and it's not posted, short form video edited, you upload it to metricool and then you schedule it to post multiple places at once. That's
22:18metricool. Next is repurpose.io. Repurpose.io is basically setting up automations where like I'm editing in Tik Tok, right? That's my main platform. I edit in Tik Tok, I have the caption done, and then like I publish it to Tik Tok. You can set up an automation in repurpose.io io where any video you post to Tik Tok, Repurpose io will download it and then post it to Instagram for you or it'll like save it into a Google Drive folder that you've asked it to save like okay upload all Tik Tok videos here after they're uploaded and then you can auto post them to platform. So you could set up automations where as you
22:57upload content it will autoost around for you. Repurpose.io is $35 a month. So, if those automations sound a little bit more up your alley, then Repurpose.io would be a good option. And then our 10th AI video hack is AIdriven storyboarding. There's a tool that I think is really cool. It's called storyboard. That basically this helps you use AI to assist in creating more visual detailed storyboarding. This can be really helpful if you're trying to do visual storytelling and you want to plan out your shots before filming, but you've never created a storyboard before. Storyboard that has a lot of visual templates that you can use and
23:41assets to pull from that could help speed up your workflow with storyboarding. I see this being the most helpful one. If you're a visual person and you love storyboarding, you love like visual creative storytelling, maybe you're like a cinematic creator, you love to have that storyboard where you're planning out that shots. Obviously, this tool would be helpful for that type of creator. But I also see this being helpful for like UGC creators where maybe before you film for a brand, you're creating a story board and sending that story board to the brand so that they could see visually what your inspiration and vision is and then you
24:16guys could get on the same page before you even film and reduce the amount of revisions on videos that you're creating for brands. With a free account on storyboard that you can create two storyboards a week, but you'll have limited access to some of the elements to build out a more detailed design. If you find yourself using this tool a lot, then you can definitely upgrade. Plans start at $10 a month. Now, before you
24:39go, I do have two honorable mentions. One of them is a feature that I've seen in a few tools called eye contact. It's a great way for AI to make sure that you're always looking directly at the camera, even if you're like reading from a script, right? If you have your script off to the side, like I said, I like this as an idea. I think this is great for again people not wanting to memorize scripts. When I'm filming my short form content, I use scripts. I print out physical scripts and then I read a line to the camera and then I look at it and
25:11I memorize it. Then I read a line to the camera. And if I could just look off to the side and just like read the whole script and then AI makes my eyes look like I'm just like looking at the camera, that'd be great. And it's great in concept, like I said. But I've seen it used and I feel like it just it's not quite there yet. And that's why it's an honorable mention because I feel like it could get there, but at this moment it's not there yet, but maybe in the future it'll look more real. So that's one to keep an eye out for. And an honorable
25:41mention, we got to talk about Claude. And I wanted to include Claude for this video because I feel like I see a lot of people on social media being like, "Claude just edited this whole video for me." And like Claude is constantly improving and is really cool. But when my team and I was doing research for this video because we're like, we got to use
26:01Claude. The amount of setup that goes into making Claude actually usable to edit a video for you, it's like a lot of work. And I don't consider that to be a hack. Like for me, hacks are all right, let me apply this tool. Let me get this result real fast. That wasn't Claude. [laughter] It would take like a full video tutorial to teach you how to edit videos in Claude. So, if that's something that you'd be interested in seeing, then let
26:27me know down in the comments below. Thank you so much for watching and I will see you in the next one. Follow your joy. Bye.
