0:00If you can read the mind for the searchers of your target keywords in the macro, you make way, way, way more money, you save a lot of time because you don't waste resources making content for keywords that aren't going to give you much. On the micro, you reduce pogo sticking so people aren't going back to the search engine results pages to get their answers. They are sticking to your pages. You increase brand affinity and trust. You're reading the mind of the searchers that you're targeting. These searchers are coming to your site, to your pages, thinking, "Wow, this brand always gives us what we want. I feel

0:33safe to convert with them, to purchase with them, to use what they are selling to use their services." You usually require less content and therefore effort. You don't have to put in a lot of fluff. You just give people what they're looking for, and you know what they're looking for, and you increase click-through rate. there's more accurate stuff on your pages for Google to pull out and then use for its own

0:54metad description or its own page title. Google loves rewriting page titles and metad descriptions and it could take accurate stuff from your page to use that gets higher click-through rates. Now, if you're not deliberately doing SEO where you are targeting keywords, you don't need to think much about this. But if you want to rank higher on Google and make way more money from SEO, understanding keywords and keyword intent, it has to be top of mind for you. So on this episode of the show, we are going to look at two different example keywords that might not be completely obvious in what they mean and what their intent is. We're going to be

1:32looking at two examples and breaking them down. Breaking them down with what they mean, the intent, the best way to target them. Let's go. The first one, the first keyword that we are looking at today, first example keyword is voice notes for dentists. So what what could this mean? Some people might think that people that searchers who are putting voice notes for dentists into Google, maybe they are looking at how dentists are using voice notes. Maybe people who are searching voice notes for dentists are comparing features of different

2:05voice notes recording apps for dentists. Maybe that's what they want. And I would say that's not that's not what it is. It's I don't think it is at the top of the funnel where people are looking at how dentists are using voice notes or more middle of the funnel comparing features of different voice note recording apps. I think what this likely is people who are searching voice notes for dentists. These people are likely dentists themselves or people working for dentists who are literally just searching for voice note recording apps to use for them like right now. They want voice notes to send to patients to make notes for themselves. They want

2:42something that has AI that can help them transcribe and summarize voice notes. They want to be able to organize voice notes in special ways that dentists might like. Maybe they can actually have links to voice notes go to patients within their system. They can pull that up and it's transcribed. Maybe they want something that they can use while doing procedures and something that they can use afterwards. And I would bet that they also want to try something right

3:09now instead of researching the best one. I would bet that people who are searching voice notes for dentists would love to click a button and try something right now. And what you would do if you were targeting this is you would let them do that. You would have a button that takes them to an app on your subdomain and lets them do this and you would give it to them with premium or like a free trial with no signin required. They can just go and record a voice note right there. that already gets them using your product, getting them into your ecosystem, and then they're clicking around to see if this

3:40has what they want. Your page should also say you're you you should be reading their minds, thinking about what they want, saying what they want on your page, saying that you do what they want on your page. If you don't know exactly what they want, you're also doing research to figure out what people want. But you would have a button above the fold before people start scrolling that that allows them to go into the web app and start recording right there. So,

4:02okay. So, that's probably the intent. It's lower down on the funnel. Should you target this with a blog post? Should you target voice notes for dentists with a blog post? And the answer is a big resounding no. That's not what searchers want. The searcher, again, a dentist or maybe somebody working for a dentist,

4:21they know what they are looking for. Just give them a conversion-based landing page showing what you do is what they are looking for. Show that you're trustworthy and reputable. And most important, show that the searcher can use your your software right now. Having screenshots of the software so searchers, visitors know exactly what they're getting. Say how you are perfect specifically for dentists and all the

4:45ways that you fit into a dentist's work. Again, this is a conversionbased SEO landing page, not a blog post. You have a use now button right there above the fold. And you also have another one at the bottom of the page. You could also actually So I was looking through the search engine results page for this keyword and surprisingly there's a bunch of people targeting the keyword with videos on YouTube. And so after you make the page, while all this information is top of mind because you just put up the page targeting this keyword, you can make a short video where you just show yourself using if if you're making an

5:21app for voice notes for dentist where you show yourself using your voice notes for dentist app and how it's perfect for dentists and it could be a very very short video. People like short videos and you have a link to use it to jump into it right there in the description. Who should target this? If you are not a company that does this, can you target it? All right. So, who definitely if you were a if you're a software company specifically where you have a voice note recording app for dentists, 100% target this. Even if you are a related software and it's not specifically for dentists,

5:53but you believe that your software can satisfy search intent, you can target a keyword like voice notes for dentists because you can likely give them what they want. you'll have a harder time predicting what they want because you're not in that niche. But very easy to just do some research and tell people, hey, we do what you want and you know what they want. You're reading their minds because you've done the research. You can also target this if you are a dentist resource site. Lots of resource sites out there for dentists and maybe you are recommending a voice notes for dentists app that gives you an affiliate

6:26commission and that you believe is good and just builds trust with your brand. Now, if you are doing affiliate SEO for this, would you would you use a blog post then for voice notes for dentists? And I would still say no. Use the conversion-based SEO landing page. And that button at the top of your page goes to your affiliate link because again, people who are searching voice notes for dentists, they know what they are looking for. And you just want to say this is the brand or we are the brand that gives you exactly what you are looking for. the voice note recording app or online recording app for

7:01dentists. All right, let's move on to the second example. You gotta read minds. Read minds or just do good enough research so you could read minds. So the second example is and this one might even be a little bit harder actually for people to predict. Tell me if you if you predicted it right away. The second example is best materials for coffee mugs. Now, is this keyword best materials for coffee mugs? Is it people looking to buy materials to make coffee mugs in bulk? Or is it people trying to decide what materials are safest and healthiest for coffee mugs? Because maybe they're worried about hot liquids

7:39or acids degrading the material over time. Well, probably when I say the second one, you realize it's the second one. It's people who are trying to decide what materials are safest and healthiest for coffee mugs. In fact, when you Google best materials for coffee mugs, you actually see that at the top of the search engine results page. You see from healthier homes, what are the healthiest and safest materials for coffee mugs. So, this keyword, this one is very top offunnel. It's not people who are looking to buy materials to make coffee mugs in bulk. It's likely consumers who want to make sure they are drinking from coffee mugs made from the

8:17safest materials. You will be able to move people into your funnel with something like this, but it's just going to be a lot harder. You're not going to target a keyword like best materials for coffee mugs with a conversion-based SEO landing page. You're going to target this one with a blog post and or a video. You might do both, a blog post

8:36and a video. Very, very top of funnel. People are exploring. People are learning. When you're writing the content, you're really thinking it through why searchers are searching this. They're worried about hot liquids or acids degrading the material over time, making them drink harmful materials. Nobody wants that. And you call that out at the beginning of the blog post. Put in a too long didn't read a TLDDR right at the top of the blog post that says ceramic, borosyic, glass, I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right, and stainless steel are the best materials for coffee mugs because they offer a balance of heat retention,

9:10safety, flavor purity, and durability. And then go deeper in the blog post. And you can if you are targeting a keyword like this, you can move people into your funnel with pop-ups or lead magnets or relevant resources. Maybe there are a small fraction of people making coffee mugs who are trying to figure out the best materials. Small small fraction you I mean but I wouldn't waste I wouldn't waste time on a keyword like this if I actually sold the materials. I wouldn't do that. Who should target this? target this if you are an e-commerce brand selling like table wear or like a home company and you want to build trust, if

9:48you're a health company and you want to build trust and move people into your funnel that way. Definitely if you're a coffee company, but again, even if you're all of these companies, the conversion rate is going to be a lot lower cuz it's just people at the top of the funnel. You got to understand that in order to prioritize which keywords to go after so you don't spin your wheels and you don't waste time and you don't waste effort and resources on content that's well straight up not going to convert as well versus content where people are specifically looking to buy something or use something or make a

10:21discovery call. And so again, if you can read the minds of your searchers, you save a lot of time and money and you make more money. So it's pretty good. This is that's what it's like for me to think through different keywords and what searchers want and search intent. And that's why I wanted to make this episode. In my SEO course, compact keywords for 2 hours and I think it's like 16 minutes, I show myself doing keyword research, thinking through keywords, but also I have every week for 15 weeks, I have weekly breakdowns of different keywords in different niches, showing keywords, showing search engine results pages, talking about the best

11:00ways to target the keywords that we're looking at. I'm looking at local. I'm looking at ecom. I'm looking at services at info products, wellness, pet care, SAS, AI, marketing, crypto, appliances, fintech, home tech, outdoors. We're looking at a lot of niches with the weekly compact keywords breakdowns. And if you want to see those, that's at compactkeywords.com. And that's everything that I got for you on this episode of the show. This is episode 965 of the Edward Show. 965 days in a row doing this podcast. If you watch this one on YouTube, thank you so much for watching. If you listened on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, thank you so much for
