This is the full transcript of How I Ranked a Company #1 on ChatGPT & Google within 24 hours (AI SEO Tutorial), published on YouTube by Rob Hoffman. Every paragraph carries the moment it was spoken, so you can click any line to jump straight to that point in the video, search the whole thing for a word, or copy it out.
0:00By the end of this video, you're going to learn exactly how to rank in AI search in less than 24 [music] hours for a keyword that actually makes you money using a LinkedIn [music] Pulse article. And here's the proof that this actually works. We ranked one of our clients first in less than 24 hours for
0:16a bottom of funnel money-making keyword. So, in this case, it's best clay automation agencies. They're ranking in the AI overviews. They're ranking on regular Google. They're even ranking in ChatGPT. You can see ChatGPT is recommending them as the number one option for clay automation agencies. They're ranking everywhere. And what's even cooler than that is I published an SOP on X recently showing people exactly how to do this. And I had people tweeting at me like this guy Axel who followed the exact steps I gave him, ranked number one in like 17 hours. And this guy Nasa who did the exact same thing. You can see he's ranking here
0:50within 48 hours. So, this stuff actually works. It's already working for people. By the way, if you don't know me, I'm Rob. I'm the CEO and founder of Contact. And we do AI search for seven, eight, nine-figure companies like Beehiiv. We've done it for Kajabi, Shopify, Seamless, a whole bunch of other tech companies. All right, enough intro. Let's get into it. So, first things first is you have to choose what keyword you're trying to rank for. So, this is the article right here that we are using to rank for the keyword best clay automation agencies. You'll notice that the title is what are the best clay
1:22automation agencies. That is because the first thing that you want to figure out are what are the search terms that actually have search volume. So, you can use a tool like this like Ahrefs. You come to the keyword explorer. You can search keywords that you might want to show up for. As an example, for our client, we know if they show up for this keyword and it has search volume, people are going to want to work with them. And so, the interesting thing is you'll notice we didn't choose best clay automation agencies and just leave that as the title. We did what are the best clay automation agencies. And the reason
1:51is because not only does what are the best clay automation agencies have more search volume. This is just an estimation, by the way. Normally, Ahrefs under reports it by like two to four X, and sometimes even bigger than that. But, the main point is that if we title this, "What are the best clay automation agencies?" we're going to show up for this full keyword, as well as the shorter best clay automation agencies short-tail variation. So, the first thing that you're going to want to do is choose a keyword that has search volume and high buying intent. How do you know
2:20if a keyword has high buying intent? Pretty obvious here. If somebody is searching "best clay automation agencies," and you are a clay automation agency, that person is looking to work with you, right? Like, it's not rocket science. Number two is the LinkedIn Pulse article. You want to publish it on the company account. One of the reasons for this is because then AI is going to make the association between clay automation agencies and your company name, rather than your personal name on your personal account. And so, that kind
2:49of just covers this upper section here. Okay, so that's kind of the easy stuff, like the banner image, the headline, and what account do you publish it on? Let's get into the more detailed, kind of nuanced stuff. There are all these little details and little things that we put into the article itself that allowed it to rank. So, I'm just going to go through it one by one and show you exactly what we did. Okay, so step number one is choosing the right keyword for the title of the article. Step number two is making sure you're
3:17publishing it from the right account. Step number three is that you have to drop people directly into the action. So, you can see that we jump right into the action. There's no "in today's fast-paced world." That does not sound like AI. We are also kind of stoking the pain points of the person who's reading this. And then, we get down into this section here, and this is really important. So, this is what we call a methodology. And typically, when you're trying to rank an AI search, you want to tell AI and AI crawlers that are going to be crawling this content and deciding if they want to rank this content, what
3:52methodology you use to determine who are the best Clay automation agencies. [music] And so, you can see here that we specified that we applied four filters to every agency including ourselves. So, don't shy away from pointing out your own bias here. It does not matter. You don't have to pretend to be objective. In fact, it's better to not pretend that. And so, we're going to get into what Clay does on its own, the three kinds of agencies that you can hire, which agency best fits each situation, and the questions to ask before you sign anything. So, it's kind of giving a review of again, the methodology that
4:24we're going to be using to weigh the best Clay automation agencies against each other, and what people are going to learn specifically in this piece of content. Next is our key takeaway section. This is always important to have if you want to rank in AI search because we want to give people the information they're looking for as quickly as possible, and then give them an opportunity to dive deeper into the information after that. You don't want to give like 10,000 word dissertation on the origins of pasta before telling somebody how to cook like a pasta bolognese. You want to just give them the answer right up front. Okay, I kind
4:55of forget what step we're on, but we're just going to go one by one through each little thing that we did to optimize this article. And you have the SOP and the checklist to follow along to make it easy. Go to the description of this video right now because I put that exact same SOP and checklist in there so you can rank number one and start making money hopefully. And I don't know how long this cheat code with LinkedIn Pulse is going to last, so do it now. Okay, the next thing you're going to notice is that we have these punchy self-contained answers within the text. And so, this is
5:23clearly optimized to be pulled by AI. AI likes to have these very declarative quick answers that are self-contained where they can just pull a snippet from the content without having to read or summarize the rest. So, Clay is a data engine, not a revenue team. And that is kind of structured in a way that you, you know, AI likes to say what it is and what it isn't. And then that's basically the key takeaway section here. You can just read this and see it's pretty simple. You just want to give people a breakdown as to what they're going to learn specifically in the article and make it very simple to understand. Next,
5:57we want to define the term that we are talking about before we compare anything. So, [music] what is clay? What can clay actually do on its own? These are questions that your reader is going to have. So, we want to provide as much context as possible. And so, before we can even get into ranking agencies, we need to figure out like, you know, what types of clay agencies are there? What does clay actually do on its own? And then, the last thing here that is this is really important. AI loves to have very specific quantitative objective numbers like this one right here. So, 3,655 accounts. You know, if we're talking
6:34about results that we got a client, we're not just saying, "Oh, we crushed it for this client." We're being very specific about the results that we got. And then, we're actually linking back here to the case study on the client's site. I'm going to talk a little bit later about your website and about this right here, which you'll see, which is how we link back to our site and how we don't do it because there are some important tricks that you need to pay attention to. And you'll also see that we created a corresponding version of this LinkedIn Pulse article on the client's website, which is also very
7:03important and I'm going to get into that later and how to do that and how to think about it. But, let's keep going through the LinkedIn article here and we'll get to that at the end. The other thing that's really important about this number here is that it is a number that nobody outside of ourselves, like nobody outside of the client that we're working with, has access to this data and information. So, anytime that you have data, first-party data, proprietary data, data that exists nowhere else on the internet and only you have, put that into your content. That is going to make it way more likely that AI is going to
7:32cite you. Okay, next up, we're going to define what are the types of clay agencies. And again, we're keeping the paragraphs very easily digestible. They're only two to three sentences each, and they're always phrased as a question. What are the three types of clay agency? It's really good when you're trying to rank in AI search to have your subheadings be questions, and then to answer that question right away in the body of your text. Moving right along here, we get into the methodology section. I talked about this at the beginning of the video. It's so important to always have a methodology section when you're trying to rank in AI
8:07search. AI crawlers want to know that you have an objective methodology that you're using to weigh different options against each other. Cuz otherwise, it's like, how does anybody know why you have chosen the agencies on this list or who you think is better for what? And so, it's important to be somewhat journalistic about it where you're going, "Okay, I am going to compare these different options across these criteria, and I'm going to tell you specifically what those criteria are so that you can see how we actually came to our conclusions. We didn't just pull them out of thin air." So, always have a methodology section. This is a section
8:43that's like, how do we choose the options on this list? And you can see we have four filters applied in this order, and we applied it to us the same way as everybody else. So again, we're always coming back to the fact that yes, we are an option on this list as well, but we weight ourselves using the same criteria as the other options. And by the way, you know, weigh that accordingly in your mind that we are biased in that we are one of these options, so of course we're going to say we're the best. have to shy away from saying that of course you have
9:11a bias, and that the reader should weigh that accordingly in their mind. That's actually good for AI search. Okay, so now we're going to get into the comparison table. If you are comparing yourself against other options in the market or doing any type of versus alternative, sometimes review, definitely best of keywords. So again, like best clay agencies, best GTM agencies, always have a comparison table because it shows people and AI crawlers very clearly how you are comparing the different options in the market and it just makes it simple and ideally you're doing it in a way where all of the facts and information that exists on the table
9:47are very quantitative. They're fact-based and objective. And so here you can see this just makes it really easy for AI to categorize the different options in the market, Frontal, all their competitors, what kind of agencies are they, and then you know, we chose where the work lives and then name client results. So comparison tables super super key. We originally built this in the article that we used to create this LinkedIn Pulse article, which again I'll talk about in a little bit. And then you just are able to take that and apply it to the LinkedIn Pulse article. All right, so now we get into weighing the actual options. Of course,
10:19we're going to have our client be the number one option and this is really important that we're talking about which options are best suited for what customer. You'll notice that in AI search, AI's never going to say, "Okay, who's the best clay agency? It's this guy." Like it's not going to be like, "Who's the best CRM?" It's HubSpot. If somebody searches, for example, "What is the best CRM to use?" AI, so AI overviews or ChatGPT or wherever you're searching, it's going to say, "If you are an enterprise company, you should consider HubSpot and here's why. If you are an agency, you should consider Go HighLevel and this is why Go HighLevel
10:54is best suited to agencies or Atio if you're this type of company." So you always want to talk about who you are best suited to and then ideally we're going to get into this further along, the trade-off. So this company is best suited for these types of teams and companies and here is the trade-off. So here are the pros and the cons. And then of course, you always want to have nice screenshots here with a description underneath. These are results that Frontal has achieved and if we go down, we haven't had screenshots for the other competitors in this case, but if we go to the article itself, you will see that
11:28we do have screenshots in there. So that's a bit of a different story. Again, we're going to get into that article a little bit later, but right now we're just talking about LinkedIn. So, we just kept it simple with one screenshot for Frontal. But, you could put the other screenshots in here if you wanted to. Okay, next up is that when you're talking about competitors, I'm going to say it again, you want to be clear that they are a competitor and that you are biased. And so, we said in this article, "This is the closest thing we have to our direct competitor. And
11:53they're genuinely good at what they do." A lot of people think that, "Well, I don't want to do a best of article because I don't want to either talk positive of me about my competitors and like give them traffic. Or else I don't want to talk negatively about them and then that just makes me look bad or
12:06causes bad blood with them." Unfortunately, you have to talk about your competitors because your customers are trying to compare you to your competitors. So, if you want to win, you have to get used to talking about you versus your competitors online. And our approach is like, I would not talk negatively. I would just give people the facts. And then I actually I think it's better to say like, "Yeah, they're genuinely good at what they do." Because if they are, then why not say that? But, then also it just makes you more credible and trustworthy yourself. Okay, so now we just do this for all the main
12:36competitors. Best suited to you can see it's one very clear sentence. Always having a trade-off section here as well. Very important because AI likes to determine, you know, what is and what isn't. What is this option good for? What is it not good for? So, we want to make it really easy for the AI to digest and understand this information. Okay, next up is you want to have lines in your article like this. Where we say, "They publish the same kind of round-up you're reading now with themselves at the top. Apply the same skepticism to their comparisons that we are asking that you apply to ours." So, again,
13:09you're saying it's fine for you to be skeptical and we are biased. We admit it. These are things that not only helps you to earn more trust and credibility from the reader, but also from the AI bots. So, have that stuff in your article. If you're like nervous to have it in there, that's why it works. So, moving right along, we're also going to have some other keywords that have search volume and that we want to show up for in the content. You know, it's further down in the actual article, but what are the best clay agencies for HubSpot? Because HubSpot is such a commonly used CRM. And so, in here, we
13:43give it a quick breakdown. We're using bullet points. And then, at the bottom, again, we are giving information with very specific numbers. So, this is a case study that Frontal is talking about where Frontal achieved these results. And not just Frontal helped to grow AirOps' revenue, but rather we're talking about specific qualified pipeline numbers and closed one revenue numbers. And the other great thing about this is that, again, this is information that Frontal has that none of the competitors have or no one else has on the internet. So, anytime you can add information gain, which is information that we have that our competitors do not have and no other competing pages on the
14:22internet has, that is something that is going to help our content to rank. Okay, we're coming up to the end here. We got about four more points. And by the way, if you don't want to have to do this all yourself and you want us to just handle it end to end, feel free to book a call with us. There's a link in the description. Go there now, book a call, and we will do this all for you. Okay, let's continue. So, another thing to include in your content that AI bots really like are actual reviews and comments from real people. So, what you want to do here is you want to go find
14:52the Reddit thread that is ranking the highest or just go search on Reddit and find the Reddit thread that is most relevant to the content that you are creating and go find some comments that pertain to what you are talking about. And we put the exact quotes here in the article and then we link to the Reddit thread. People are going to be searching on Reddit anyways. People are going to be searching things like best clay automation agency Reddit to see what Reddit users are saying. So, we might as well just get ahead of the curve and put that information in this article so that everything is packaged up in one neat
15:25article that makes it easy for readers and for robots to digest and understand. Okay, so one of the last things that you want to have on your content here is this section right here. How do you choose the right clay agency? Again, you're giving people a simple framework that they can use to make this decision. So, ask these three questions in this
15:43order and we break it down for them. Again, we pulled a lot of this information from the original article that we used to create this LinkedIn article. And so, at the bottom here, we have this section, which we just repurposed into the LinkedIn article and then put a screenshot. And then, finally, the last couple things. Number one is have a fact a frequently asked questions section. Making an article that's going to rank in Google or ChatGPT or AI overviews or anywhere is all about answering the real questions that people have. This is another opportunity to have other related keywords in your content so that hopefully we can also rank for this
16:24keyword and this keyword and this keyword. But, also just makes the article more valuable and useful to the end user, which at the end of the day, that's what we're trying to achieve. And this is how you do it by having a fact section. Make sure that the answers to your facts are like two, max three, sentences long. Again, you want to have these bite-size digestible snippets that AI can easily scrape and then serve up to the user. So, you don't need to have
16:49these really like long overdrawn facts. Just have everything be nice and simple and punchy. And then, finally, the last thing, this is not really about AI search. This is more just about you making money and getting clients is have a CTA at the end. Tell people exactly what you want them to do. So, book a 30-minute clay strategy call. Make sure that the CTA is congruent with the article. So, it doesn't just say book a strategy call, it says book a 30-minute clay strategy call. CTA congruency so that your CTA matches what the content is and what you're talking about. Really important to increase your conversion
17:23rates and we have it at the bottom here. And the last thing that I'll say is that we didn't link the actual article here in the body. We put the article, again, the piece that we created for the client's website, we put it in the comments as the first comment here so that ideally, when people come to this article, maybe they will click through to here and they will read this and that will also help this article to rank. And so, that is why for a lot of these keywords, we're actually ranking twice on Google and in AI search. And if you search in Google, you'll see the AI
17:57Overviews or if you search in Chat GPT, you will see that they're citing both the LinkedIn article that we just went through as well as this article right here. And so, this is such an incredible strategy because you can literally rank first and second on Google. You're just getting like more real estate and more opportunity for people to come to you and your content. And so, the goal is that let's say somebody goes onto Google and they're searching for the best clay automation agency, the AI Overviews should be recommending us or our client and then the sources should be our LinkedIn article, our website article, and then the actual SERP results, the
18:31search engine results page should be like number one, our LinkedIn article, number two, our website article. So, all roads lead back to [music] us. And I said I'm going to go through this at the end of the call so I'm going to quickly go through this. The smartest way to create LinkedIn articles that rank is to start by creating an amazing blog article on your website that you can
18:51just repurpose into a LinkedIn article. So, we started with this right here and then we rewrote it so you [music] can't copy and paste it, it has to be different, but you rewrite it for LinkedIn. And this allows you to build once and sell twice. So, you spend all this time and energy creating this amazing piece of content, it only takes an additional couple hours to take this article that we already created and just
19:14rewrite and repurpose it for LinkedIn. And by doing it this way, this is how you get leverage on your time, and this is how the smartest marketers operate because good marketing is all about smart resource allocation and getting leverage. Leverage on your time, leverage on the assets that you create, and building once and selling twice or three times or four times. I'm going to go over how to create a perfectly optimized blog article on your website in a later video, so go ahead and subscribe to my channel if you want to see that. But for now, really recommend, again, that you download the SOP that we
19:46created right here, as well as the checklist, so that you can action easily everything that we have talked about in this video. And hopefully, you can start ranking in like 24 hours, 48 hours for a money-making bottom-of-funnel keyword and start getting traffic to your website that you can convert into customers and clients. And again, if you don't want to worry about doing this all yourself, and you want us to just do it right the first time for you and make it easy, go to the description of this video right now, book a call with us, and we will screen share and walk you through exactly how we would do this for
20:18you. And otherwise, I really hope that was helpful. If you have any questions, leave your questions in the comments. I go through all of them myself, and I'll answer them, and I will see you in the next video.
