How to start making money as a UK UGC Creator (walk through)

0:00so you've heard about ugc maybe you've seen it on your timeline now you're a little curious well in this video I'm going to go through things all ugc I'm going to share what exactly is how to get started can you actually make a business from it how much you can earn and what it's like from a UK Creator perspective so I've been doing ugc for the last two plus years so you are going to get the real te so make sure you that you stay tuned what is ugc ugc basically stands for user generated content and it's where Brands will pay normal people like you and me to create video content

0:31or photograph content that reflects from a user's point of view using their product or service the point of ugc is that it needs to be relatable and authentic so the viewers can literally see themselves as a user of that product or service now ugc typically converts better into sales or leads for brand which is why there is a big uptake and gr uptake for the use of it in a marketing strategy for Brands and services now brands have diverse clientele ense the need for a diverse range of creators which is why I don't believe this industry will be saturated because the brand needs to reflect if

1:08they are conscious brand complete diversity within their marketing so that their users can see themselves reflected in that product or service so for me if I don't see someone that represents me or looks like me then I am less likely to be a fan and be purchasing from that brand so can anyone do ugc absolutely now the great thing about ugc is you do do not need a social following the brands do not generally post the content on your socials unless you are going to do an outside deal which we'll talk about that later which may include wh listing or you top up with an affiliate

1:41commission so the point of ugc content is is not to be posted on the creators social media platforms since you don't need a large Following also the more authentic I said earlier the better so you don't need to be an actar you don't need to be um super experienced in ugc and you can get started literally from the get-go it's one of the side hustles that I would say that you can turn into a full-time income stream that is has a low barrier to entry so there is no startup cost that you really need to get going with ugc and how big and how uh Grand you want to grow your business is

2:16completely up to you there's no ceiling as I just talked about how big you want to grow your business is completely up to you maybe you just want to do it part time maybe you stay-at-home mom or maybe you just want an additional income as we are in a cost of living crisis and so ugc would fit you very well so you can do it a couple hours a week you get to determine how many clients you are going to take on and what you start your rates at so typically you can make a couple of extra thousand from ugc up to multiple thousands there are creators making like

2:46you know 10 plusk as a ugc Creator and I will talk in another video about how you can diversify your income as a ugc Creator terms of pricing I'm never going to be one of those people that tell you what to price I do not do this for any of my clients because with we all have internal money from Mam and I believe that it can grow so what I would say is typically industry standards would start at about 150 100 more in the UK starting and then you can grow beyond that for maybe a 30 second video and there's additional things you can put on in

3:17terms of add-ons so if it's being used for an ad you're going to raise your rate higher and then you've got the inclusive add-ons of AD usage as well if they're going to be using your um video over a period of months you can put in a percentage of your base rate so it will climb up and go from that but yeah starting I would start roughly at about 150 um maybe £120 $150 starting and you can go up from there the more experienced you are and in terms of also your your timing as well if you are getting super busy you raise your prices and also you want to start to be putting

3:52in package deals with brands that will bring your income in but you can very easily earn a serious amount of money add add extra couple of thousand at least as a ugc creat few things you're going to need to get started first and foremost going to be your portfolio this is what I say is like your business card your sales agent when you are at working your portfolio can do the talking and bringing in the inbalance and deals for you so you want to make sure you create a really good portfolio and you can do that for free on canva and also you can get started for free even if you've

4:21never created a US UC video before by going around your home and picking a selection of products and making videos from that I would say say put in like six to start and try to make these really good quality uh videos so go and do your research on ugc look at what is converting ads as well make sure you've got talk into camera videos cuz Brands want to see your personality and put that in there once you have created your portfolio you're going to want to focus on becoming visible so that people know you're actually a ugc Creator and they can contact you and you can land brand

4:52deals so this is going to start by claiming the social media handles if you want to start from fresh across them um then that's completely up to you I would recommend including in your strategy Twitter this is going to be basically where you are going to connect with Brands AVC creators it's basically your version of LinkedIn or your portfolio going to post examples and then you also I would suggest creating a handle or somewhere you're going to share your ugc journey your examples on Tik Tok as well brands are constantly searching and this is how they're going to find you you're going to get inbounds and also all the

5:25multiple of different opportunities that do come from becoming a ugc Creator which when you're and you wouldn't even think it's available to you but they absolutely are so you're going to optimize your bios you're going to make sure you've included in there that you are a ugc Creator you're going to have a email there that Brands can contact you easily for collabs you're going to link to your portfolio you're going to have a pinned intro video or example so that people when they come across your profile they can get a sense of who you are and what you can create and then that's how you're going to start to

5:54build your UDC you're also going to want to make sure that you start to build your personal brand so you get strategic on this I go into more detail with this with the ladies that are in my community but make sure you start to build a personal brand strategy um that you you have your content pillows and you're regularly and you're consistent and you're showing up remember so that you can stay top of Mind want to put engagement strategy in there as well so going across the platforms that I've shared and you can also add Instagram there if time permits as well and make sure that you're engaging with other

6:24creators you're engaging with the brand you're looking at seeing who others are following as well and you're answering so that you're staying top of mind you're being visible now ugc despite what you hear is not a getrich scheme so you are going to have to put in the work the consistency just like any other business um you that are the same fundamentals you're going to have to be committed to being consistent and putting in the work learning and developing your skills and it will grow and you will get better and it's not that it will get easier but you will just become more and that's something I

6:54always say to the women that I coach as I building their online businesses are you going to start to get your first brand hand deals now the first and foremost is you're going to want to join some of the popular apps and platforms so things like Fiverr like upwork joining things uh agencies at 12 um going on incense uh Brands meet creators sign up for that newsletter join Brands they just some of the ones available but there's so many more so you're going to want to sign up to there as well and you also want to going to commit to pitching so reaching out to Brand let them know
