0:00So after I graduated from UCLA, I spent about 6 years grinding side hustles while all my friends got these really nice, comfortable jobs. I was doing photography, tutoring, clothing, ecom, FBA, real estate, mortgages, basically anything to pay the bills while I figured out business. And most of the stuff I tried failed. But here is what is interesting. So looking back now after building multiple seven bigger companies, the businesses that actually worked for me all had the same few things in common. And the ones that actually failed, they were the sexy ideas that needed everything to go perfectly. So, in this video, I'm going to break down six businesses that rarely

0:35fail. And I mean that literally. These are not get quick rich ideas. They are businesses where the demand already exists. You do not need that much money to actually start it and you get paid from day one. I'll tell you exactly how to do each one, what the numbers look like, and how you can actually get your first clients. Make sure you guys actually stick around until the end because in my opinion, they get progressively better. Now, the thing when choosing a business to start that doesn't fail is you need to look for four different things. And these truly are the things that make any business

1:04really good to start, especially for beginners. First is going to be that people are already paying for this. Like you're not inventing demand. So, choose something that other people actually need and pay for. Next is you want a low startup cost. All my successful businesses have been very low cost to start. And the great thing is that you can't lose big with these types of businesses. Third is you get paid immediately, right? So these are services not products and you get paid on day one whenever you deliver. And

1:30last is it's boring or it's very niche. So with these types of businesses, the competition is weaker than you think. And it's essentially the opposite of a sexy startup, right? You're not inventing something. There's no inventory. You're not getting millions of dollars of funding. And you're not waiting two plus years to see if it actually works. So let's get started with number one, which is going to be home services. Every single one of you guys watching this video can start a home services company. And this essentially is going to be something like cleaning services, pressure washing, lawn care, window washing, junk removal, handyman services. Basically, stuff that every homeowner needs on

2:07repeat. Now, the reason why this rarely fails is because the demand literally never goes away, right? With any house, the grass grows or the house gets dirty or stuff needs to be washed or stuff needs to be fixed. It doesn't matter if there's a recession. Doesn't matter if the economy is booming. And the thing is like most of these types of businesses are owned by old boomers that don't know how to market. They don't answer their phones. They don't know how to get new clients. Well, and so if you're young, you can absolutely crush it in this industry. In fact, it's a multiund billion dollar industry. And if you go

2:36to any of these conferences around the world, you'll find people that are just operating these like boring businesses that make $200 to $500,000 or more per year. And no one knows about them. But these are cash cows that don't cost a lot of money to start. And so what I would do is I'd pick one service and one zip code. And so for example, let's start with something like pressure washing, right? This is a classic one that a lot of people start with. The equipment is going to be maybe 500 bucks to $2,000 to start. Super low. You can even probably get away with a few

3:06hundred for a like basic pressure washers start. And then most jobs you get, you can probably make $200 to $400 for like a driveway or for a whole house wash. If you do two jobs per day on weekends, that might already be more than what you're making at your actual job. And what I would do is I would actually have a recurring service because this totally beats one-off services. So, for example, pressure washing, right? Let's say you come in once every month or even better, lawn care. It could be a weekly or a monthly thing. And if you get these types of customers and you have a set day that

3:38you come in, it's really predictable income. You basically have MRR, monthly recurring revenue without having a SAS or software. And at some point, you can definitely contract these out to other people or build a team so that it becomes an actual business, not you trading your time for money. Now, for clients, I'd create a Google business profile. I'd get reviews. If you guys actually stay until the end, I'll show you guys the exact software that I would use. I'd go on Next Door or Facebook

4:02groups. I'd go on Facebook Marketplace. I would door knock. I would put door hangers in the exact neighborhood that you want to target. I would call houses or companies that you want to be your clients. You can literally do this all within High Level, which is the software I recommend. And I also do before and after content on social media. And like I said, you don't need to actually do the labor forever, right? Plenty of people will start with doing it themselves, which is what I used to do with a lot of my service-based agencies, and then I hire people to actually help run the business for me. I already have

4:32a feeling that so many guys watching this video, if you just stop watching and you just do one of these, it's going to crush it. But I'd say you should probably stick around for the whole video because I actually go through some really interesting businesses that you guys can start and when those might be a better fit for you. Okay, number two is going to be mobile car services. So this means like mobile detailing, mobile battery replacement, mobile oil changes or basic mechanic work and essentially you are going to them at their house or at their office or whatever. The reason why this works is because the demand is

5:00there, right? There's like 300 million cars in America. They all get dirty, they all break, they might need battery replacements, whatever. The mobile part is the mode because there are already so many big mechanic shops and those cost a lot of money to start. But if you want to be mobile, this can be a huge advantage for you. Essentially, the convenience for your client is the product, right? People will pay more to not have to go drive somewhere with a broken car or a really dirty car and having to wait. Now, the numbers are really enticing, right? So, let's say

5:29you have a mobile detailing business. You can easily get $100 to $300 per detail. I know because that's what I pay my car detailers. If you do two to three, that's hundreds or even like thousand dollars or more per day. For this type of business, starting up might cost a little bit more since you probably will want some type of car and all the supplies and the portable water and power and stuff like that. But this is a super high value skill that a lot of people will pay for, especially if there are, you know, a lot of rich people in your area. I also just had my

5:59battery replaced in one of my cars. It was really expensive and that was because they had to come to my house. In fact, the labor alone was like $400 or $500 and the job took one or two hours max. One of the best parts about this is, for example, car detailing, right? People need this on a recurring schedule. So, let's say every month or two months. And if you get clients that love your work, they will book you regularly. And so, what I would really do is encourage them, give them some type of discount if they have a set day and time to wash their cars for them. Of

6:26course, battery replacement is a little bit different. that is definitely more oneoff. But you can see anything relating to cars, there is so much demand and there's tons of money to be made. Now to get clients, I would do before and after short form media on Instagram and Tik Tok. For example, POV detailing content with Menaglasses. These are really like satisfying to watch. I know that I've found people this way. I'd get reviews. I'd start doing word of mouth referrals. that might even try to partner up with different offices or buildings where you're like, "Okay, I'll be in this area every, let's say, Friday from 1 to 6:00

6:59p.m. Let's work out some type of deal or rev share or something like that." This is a super underrated business that you guys can start. Yes, it does cost a little bit more money, but the success rate of this type of business is very, very high. Okay, number three is going to be very niche photography or video. Now, I was a photographer for over a decade and it was one of my first real businesses that I started and it was definitely one of my most successful early businesses. So, after I graduated from UCLA, I was doing a lot of graduation photography and that was my niche, right? I literally was the

7:30graduation photographer at UCLA. In fact, I think I did over 600 graduation shoots in, let's say, four or five years. Big key word here is niche, right? You need to have some type of very specific niche cuz there's so many photographers, so many videographers that are just generalists that don't specialize in one thing. The only way to really stand out in these really hyper competitive niches is by having a hyperfocused niche. This could be doing real estate photography or real estate videos. This could be doing drone videos for real estate. It could be doing graduation shoots. It could be doing head shot for actors and models. And the

8:02thing is, this is such a high value skill that you can absolutely charge a ton of money for. I was making hundreds of dollars per hour as a postc college student and if I were to still be doing photography today, I would probably be charging at least $500 per hour. The real estate angle is also really, really good because you're not really dealing

8:20with people or like talent, right? You're dealing with a house. You can build relationships with different real estate agents or real estate companies and get a lot more recurring revenue for a long time. Head shot are also a great niche. You could specialize in, let's say, law firm head shot. You could do LinkedIn head shot. Like, these all help people make more money. And you can charge hundreds or thousands of dollars for one session. Weddings are also a really great niche and you can easily make $3 to $10,000 per wedding once you

8:49are established. It is very brutal work. I did this, too, but it can pay a lot of money. Now, the reason why this never fails is because the demand is there. People want photos of themselves or their businesses or their real estate listings, whatever it is. And people are not just paying for photography. They're paying for the photographer. They're paying for someone that's reliable that can show up on time and deliver a quality result every single time. And when a lot of people ask me like, "Charlie, what is a good skill for me to learn early on?" I always tell them, "Learn how to use a camera." Because I

9:17do think this is such an underrated skill to have. I basically learn business with my camera. And it's such a great way to get in the services industry and make a lot of money at the same time. In terms of getting clients, you know, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, that's how I got a lot of my first clients. Social media is super super important. Try to post as many photos as you can. I'm not going to get too much in how to do this. It's very similar to all the other businesses I talked about in this video, but just know that having a lot of talent and having really good marketing skills are

9:46both extremely important because if no one knows that you do photography or no one knows that you do real estate listing photos, then no one's going to book you, even if you are the best. Next is going to be a UGC agency. So, this is something that's really popped up in the last few years. It's becoming very prevalent and basically what it is is brands really need real people content user generated content UGC for their ads and for their social media. So basically what you can do is you can find manage

10:12and coordinate UGC creators for them. Essentially you are like the middleman between creators and companies. Now the reason why this rarely fails is because every brand out there needs a constant supply of content. The brands that don't do this are dying off and the brands that are winning take content really seriously. Now, ad creatives, they burn out in weeks, right? Every single week

10:33or two or three, you need new creatives. Otherwise, you get ad fatigue. Your cost per lead, cost per sale starts going through the roof with ads. I know this cuz we're doing a lot of ads right now. And businesses like they don't have time to manage 20 different creators. So, what you guys can do is just build a

10:48catalog of great creators out there. They don't need to have huge Instagram pages. They don't need to be super popular. They just need to be able to create good videos. And so when you can manage a roster of creators and build good relationships with clients aka companies, you can charge let's say x amount per video and then keep a like premium or take say 20%. But even better yet, what I would do is charge a company a monthly retainer of let's say $3,000 per month, deliver x videos per month, and then you find and manage creators, get all this content made, and keep whatever the difference is as your

11:20profit. I'd start with a small roster. So maybe 10 to 20 creators from X, from Tik Tok, from Instagram, and then try and sell one single client a monthly content package. Just try to do that. Once you get one and you actually deliver for them, they're going to refer you to their friends who are also likely business owners. And yeah, guys, there's so many DTOC e-commerce brands out there that need like hundreds or thousands of creatives. You can get really creative with how you find these clients. And the thing is, it doesn't really cost any money to start cuz it's just a service agency. Building a website is super

11:51super easy. You know, these are just relationships and coordination, right? There's no product you're selling. There's no big product costs or big startup costs. This is a super great business for a lot of people to start. And the reason why I like this more than being a UGC creator yourself is because as a creator yourself, right, you're still trading your time for money. You sort of cap out on how much output you can do. When you have an agency, there really isn't that much of a ceiling. And best of all, you don't need to be on camera, which is really draining for a lot of people. Okay, number five is

12:19going to be a niche marketing agency. This is basically what I do now for one of my businesses, which is called Long Form Launch. So, we are a YouTube agency that does done for you YouTube channels for businesses. And the reason I started this was because I have a ton of YouTube channels myself. And I was like, okay, I have the team ready. I have all the processes. I know how to build successful channels. Let me do this for other businesses because I see just how powerful it is for businesses to actually have a YouTube channel. The amount of leads and authority and like equity you get for having this media

12:49part of your business is absolutely insane. Now, the same rule here applies, right? You need to have some type of niche if you want to do a marketing agency. For me, that niche was YouTube videos, but your niche could be, let's say, website creation or it could be running Google ads or running meta ads. It could even be something like Reddit SEO or AEO, right? AI SEO. There are so many different aspects to marketing that are very important and I would just focus on a very specific one. So, for

13:16example, let's dive into Reddit SEO. This one is interesting because this one's not the most ethical, but getting brands ranked or mentioned in Reddit threads is actually a very great way to show up on Google. And so, what a lot of these Reddit SEO agencies will do is they have access to a bunch of different Reddit profiles and they will manufacture threads or conversations on Reddit. Again, like I said, not the most ethical, but this is just an example of a service that really doesn't cost any money to start, but is very valuable for businesses. You can also start like a LinkedIn outreach marketing agency where

13:48you send messages on behalf of a company, and this can help book sales or get leads for companies. And actually, we pay a service right now to do this for us. There's also like LinkedIn content or ghostwriting. This is also a very great marketing type of agency to do cuz tons of founders are trying to get online. they're going to want to do video. So instead of having to write text themselves and do all these posts, they will hire an agency to do this for them. Now with agencies, what I recommend doing is charge some type of monthly fee per client. So for example, at long form launch, it costs $4,000 per

14:20month minimum and it gets more expensive depending on what they want to add on. And so let's say you have five different clients paying 4K. That's already $20,000 per month. Agencies can be quite stressful, but they can be a pretty high margin business that don't cost a lot of money to start and have extremely high success rates. Plus, you get paid pretty much right away when you start delivering on the service. And so, it's a very good cash flow business. What I would do is I'd pick a service that you can do already or that you can learn in

14:4930 days. There's tons of them out there. Get one good case study, maybe do it free for a month for someone, and then sell that result to lookalike clients. And to get clients, just do everything I talked about for the other ones, right? Marketing is very important. I do social media. I might do LinkedIn. I might do YouTube. Getting your first client is definitely the hardest, but once you do and you do a good job for them, then

15:10they're going to refer their friends. You're going to have case studies, and you're slowly going to be able to build a business from that. Okay, number six is going to be the AI implementing business. What this is is you are going to install AI into normal businesses. If you think about how many normal businesses there are in the world that are not using AI properly, then that should show you just how much demand there is going to be and currently already is. With AI, there's so much stuff that you can do to make a business way more efficient. For example, chat bots that answer leads, AI voice agents

15:40that can actually pick up the phone, automations that follow up with every customer. And I'm not saying that you're building the AI, you're just installing it. There's so many softwares that do this and all you have to do is install it. Now, obviously, every business owner knows or has heard about AI and they know that they need it, but they don't know how to start. 33 million small businesses in America right now, almost none of them have this set up. So, there's so much demand. The reason why this doesn't fail is because you are selling save time and captured revenue, right? The ROI for this type of service

16:10is absolutely massive. For example, you could charge $3,000 to set up an AI receptionist, and that is going to make that company, let's say, an additional $500,000 over the course of a few years. It makes so much sense for them to just pay you a few,000 for something simple like that. Now, what I would do is I would have some type of setup fee. Let's say $2 to $10,000 per install. And then what you can also do is tack on some type of monthly retainer of $500 to a

16:36few thousand per month to maintain it. If you have 10 clients on a $1,000 retainer, that's $10,000 a month. And that's just to help them maintain, right? You're not actually doing that much stuff. And so, what I would do if I were to start is pick one stack, build it for yourself first, and then sell that exact same install over and over to one niche. So, this could be like roofers or it could be dentists. It could be any of the types of businesses we talked about in this video. And as you build testimonials, it's going to get easier and easier to get more clients. And there is so much you guys

17:04can do with this. Literally, the thing I would do is just get high level. get the unlimited or the SAS plan. So, this is like $300 to $500 a month and you can build all these tools within that software and then sell these as onetime installs as well as monthly services. I actually have a link down below to High Level and if you guys use that link, you're going to get a 30-day free trial instead of a 14-day one, which is normal. That's exclusive to my audience only. And you're also going to get $15,000 of free bonuses. So, literally all the templates, snapshots, automations I use within my own

17:34businesses, I'm literally going to give those to you. So you can just copy and paste them. In terms of marketing this, right, I would do social media. Give a ton of value to your target clientele. Make videos teaching them stuff. And the thing with educational content is even if you teach something, most people are not going to want to have to do it themselves. So they'll hire you since

17:50they already know that you can do it. The coolest thing with any of these service-based businesses that we talked about in this video is you can run them all on this one software, the eye level. This is the exact software that I use to run all of my own businesses. And the best way to actually get the software is through my program, my first client. It is a completely free 8week program that I have. And when you sign up, you're going to get that trial to go high level. You're going to get those $15,000 of bonuses, all of my templates. And over 8 weeks, I'm literally going to

18:17show you exactly how to build a service-based business just like the ones that we talked about in this video. We'll show you how to set up the software so that your business is running smoothly, how to actually deliver results to your clients, how to market. It's literally all the stuff that I learned over many years building my own service-based businesses. And yeah, my goal is to help you guys get your first client for your own service-based business. I guarantee you this will be absolutely life-changing if you actually go through the program. And

18:42like I said, it is completely free. You'll also join a community of other like-minded entrepreneurs who are building their own service-based businesses.
