# Claude Code + YouTube Shorts = $20,137/month Channel: Jay Shultz Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPUo4IyM5Ck Duration: 20 min Language: English Words: 4143 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/bPUo4IyM5Ck --- [0:00] Over the last 3 months, this faceless YouTube channel made an estimated $60,000 in the last 3 months from shorts alone. And now hear this, nobody in that channel is showing their face and the channel isn't even a year old. So, as someone who spent more than the last 2 years automating everything with CloudCode, I thought I can definitely [0:20] try completely automating this as well. So, I've tried and I have some good news. I'm going to show you which formats like this are actually the ones making the most money and which ones we can completely automate using, again, CloudCode. So, let's first look at these channels here. And when I look at them, [0:36] I want to look at three main things. First is the format, the second one is when the channel has been made, third one is how many views they get. So, we look at this first one called Milo, we can see that the channel was created in the last year. They uploaded almost 200 videos and got 906 million views. So, and to know how much this amount of views converts into dollars, we just need to divide it by 5,000 because on average YouTube shorts make 20 cents per thousand views. So, what I want to do is [1:03] I want to put in that number. Let's say 266, we divide it by 5,000. So, we can see that this channel made around $180,000 in this year and a half. And then we can see that the last videos he made kind of get a lot of views. So, if we just look at this one, for example, this parkour video, what we can do is we can put in 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 and divide it by 5,000 as well. This one short video made around $2,000. And if we look at the format of this video, we can see that the format I'm going to [1:36] talk about is this compilations ranking different stuff videos. If we look at this channel here, any rank, this channel exists way longer, is from 2020, made over 1 and a half billion views, public isn't format. Then another channel Clip OR T. If we look at this one, this one was created less than 6 months ago, okay? And it's got 368 million views. So, if I put this number in and I divide it by 1,000, it's made [2:01] $73,000. Pretty crazy stuff. If we look at this one, Zig shorts. Also, guys, I'm showing you the same format every time. So, this format is pretty crushing it. So, after looking at all this, we can already learn three most important things. The first one is that new faceless YouTube channels can break through just fine. A lot of people say that faceless YouTube is saturated and maybe it is, but we can see that there's a lot of these channels that are almost completely new and they're doing it well enough. The second one is shorts can pay you a lot of money, but they have to be properly [2:33] scaled. Because yes, shorts pay you way less money than long-form videos do. Because on any long video, the ads play inside your videos. And on shorts, the ads play in between a few shorts. So, YouTube pulls that money they get from one ad and you get a small cut. And there's a study that has been done on 274 channels and most of them made somewhere between 7 and 22 cents per 1,000 views. And if your viewers are mostly American, that number can go up higher to around 33 cents per 1,000 views. While a long video usually pays you a few bucks per 1,000 views. So, yeah, as I said, it only works in a [3:07] pretty big numbers. For example, to make 60 grand in 3 months, you need around 300 million views. And that's more than 4 million views every day. But to make extra 1,000, 2,000 dollars a month, you only need to generate from 5 to 10 million views a month, which is definitely doable. So, why do I honestly think that this is an opportunity of a lifetime? Because a year ago, you would do this all by your hand. You would need to find the clips, you would need to curate them, download them, edit them, upload them and so on. I took some time and I made a Claude code skill that does [3:39] all of it. It checks what the biggest channels posted this week, what went viral, makes a similar video finding the clips itself, cutting the whole video, putting the captions on, and then checks the final video for mistakes. Finally, it then sends me that video to my Telegram for me to approve it. And when I do, it uploads that same video straight to my YouTube account. Sounds crazy, right? So, now let me show you exactly how it's done and how you can do it as well. Okay, so to start things off, you will need to have two things ready. The first one is free ChatGPT subscription, I mean free ChatGPT [4:14] account, and paid Claude code subscription. So, basically any tier Claude subscription that you might have, even $20 one, the cheapest one is okay. So, that is to start things, but then you will also need to create a free apify.com account. But, Claude will lead you through those things. You don't need to create the account now. What I want you to do is I want you to open Anti-Gravity or VS Code. If you still don't know how to set up Claude Code like this, I'm going to leave a video down here where I show you how to do this exact thing. Just watch that one [4:45] first and then come back to this video. But, if you know how to do it, if you have Anti-Gravity or VS Code ready, then let's click on Claude Code here. Let's start a new session. Sorry, I do have a session started. I don't know why I did that. What I wanted you to do is I want you to go to my school community that you can find down [5:03] below in the video description as well. Go to classroom, content automation, and get this skill right here. My school community is not free. It's cheap, but it's got a 7-day free trial, so you're completely welcome to just hop in, get this skill file, and then cancel your subscription if you don't find this valuable enough at this point. Download the thing here, then go back to Anti-Gravity and just drag the file inside. Then, we tell Claude Code, "Please unpack the ranking shorts zip file and find all the skill files. Tell me what is inside, what it is about, read everything, and we will need to execute whatever the skill file is [5:42] supposed to execute." Okay, we can see here that the topic reader ran cleanly against all 13 reference channels. If you don't know what this means yet, it's fine because let's read down below. So, what does it contain? Two Cloud Code skills plus M1 page, both already installed all installed in your folder and are buttoned technical [clears throat] to [6:01] the zip, so there's nothing to copy. Ranking Shorts channel is the operator guide has no code that helps Cloud to lead a beginner through five phases. Install first video Telegram approval bot, buffer scheduling, then a little loop. And clip compilation Shorts skill file is the actual video factory. So, what is it about? The product is a faceless ranking best X moments YouTube [6:17] Shorts channel copying the Aura Shorts. This is a channel name, one of the ones we looked at. Each video tags four to five viral TikTok clips of three to six seconds, and that's exactly why we need Apify for because this Cloud Code skill will actually go ahead to TikTok and find the relevant clips to stitch together. So, okay, we don't need to read the whole thing now. Of course, you're welcome to when you do this yourself. And we need three things. The Cloud is asking for working folder, [6:41] Apify token, and a topic to start with. So, we can again ahead with a working folder. This folder, course Shorts, work is fine. This is really irrelevant, whatever folder you want to work on. It It's probably not even going to ask you that. It's It's just asking me because I'm not doing this the first time. Apify [6:58] token, TikTok is where the clips are. Yeah, so that's exactly why we go to Apify now. And you've got two ways of doing it. So, of course, I'm going to show you now how I get my API token, but you're always welcome to just Cloud Code to just tell Cloud Code, "Give me, please, step by step how to get the Apify token." You don't need to know in everything. So, because I already know, I'm going to go to Apify settings and I'm going to click on API and integrations, and there there's this code here that I'm going to copy. If you want to be extra safe, you need to put [7:26] it into .environment files yourself. That's what I'm going to do. So, I'm going to tell God the API, "Please, create the env for me here." And the third one is a topic to start with. Shark, We Pool, and Cat Prank are all related and animal or water themed which the guide flags as a sibling. Um, let's do cat prank. And then Telegram and Buffer come after the first video is built. Yeah, this seems like enough information and let's go ahead and click [7:52] enter. And now we wait. Okay, so we can see that environment file was made. And if you don't know what this .env file is, is the environment file which is a standard of where you would put all the API tokens because to be safe you don't want to put your API tokens straight to the chat because LLMs in this instance they learn from other chats. And so imagine if I asked or someone else in the world would ask CloudCode, "Can you give me API code for APY?" And it would just randomly would spit out your API token because you gave it one a month ago. And there's [8:28] also additional risks with that. So we put this APY token here. And Telegram bot bot token, we don't have it yet so we don't put it in yet. I just close the file and I tell it that I put the APY token in, please check. Now it will verify the token is present without printing. If it's okay then it's going to go ahead and start sourcing the [8:48] cat prank video candidates from TikTok. So yeah, it says token is in, sourcing 24 cat prank candidates. And now we wait again. Okay, and after around just 5 minutes we have something going on. So your first ranking video is built, quality check is clean and should be playing on screen now. All right, let's look at this. Put it on on QuickTime Player. Let's see what we're working [9:10] with. Because it was getting stuck in the cracks. Before that just let me tell you that this whole edit, the captions, the numbers and everything was edited straight by CloudCode. It's not copied from something else. Only the actual raw footage is taken from TikTok videos. [9:37] [laughter] [9:41] [laughter] Okay, well, it did a job. It's pretty I I would say it's pretty crazy. Of course, couple of videos were clearly AI made, but I think it's fine because that's how internet is these days. So, of course, when we upload it, we probably have maybe to check uh put a check mark in that is AI. That's it, and [10:01] that's everything that it asked for me. So, you can completely replicate this, and there are so many ways how you can make this better. You can do some fake commentary. You can put some captions on. You can put some sound effects in between the videos with maybe your channel logo or whatever. So, now we will close the full loop. We're going to make um Telegram bot that's going to [10:21] send us the video for us to approve it. Then it's going to send it to Buffer, and then the Buffer's going to send it to YouTube. We will need to work on three things. First of all, let's go ahead and make a YouTube channel. So, if I go here, uh youtube.com/account, and then I will create a channel. So, I will [10:36] name it something like crazy and real. Crazy and real. Is this handle taken? Okay. Yeah, let's do it this. I will create a channel now. And then, when the channel is created, I want you to go ahead here and click on YouTube Studio. The customization. So, we will need to generate two things. One is profile picture, and another one is banner image. So, and that's exactly when we go to Chat GPT. So, for profile picture, let's put the prompt like this. I need you to create a profile picture for my YouTube channel. It has to be a perfect square, and the channel name crazy and real. And while it's creating this, I [11:16] want to also make a banner image, but I'll wait for the profile picture to be done because I want it to be kind of the same style. I don't know how many pictures you can generate with Chat GPT free subscription, but it definitely definitely more than one. So, for me, it's going to be enough. If you want to perfect it, yeah, good enough. And now, I'm not going to put it in voice because I don't want it to mess mess up the pixels ratio. And now, keeping a similar style, please make a banner image for the same channel. This ratio can be bigger. Add some additional stuff. Make it kind of [11:53] funny, maybe. Yeah, as you can see, I'm not really trying hard now. You can take it to the next level, and you can do as many trials as you want. I just want to get a channel running now, so we can test everything out and get everything completely automated. So, yeah. Good for me. Good enough. So, let's upload a profile picture first, crazy [12:13] and reals as well. Profile picture is up. The next thing we want to do is we want to go to buffer.com. We'll want to log myself in. So, yeah, just create an account, and then what you want to do is you want to connect the channel. Follow find YouTube. I'll log in here, and then just choose the channel that [12:32] you just created. Select all, continue. Okay, that's it. The buffer is connected. So, the buffer is the tool that is going to be responsible to upload the video to YouTube, and we will make Cloud Code talk to Buffer. So, the Cloud Code will give the video to Buffer, and the Buffer will give the video to YouTube. One more thing we want to do quickly is we want to get our Telegram bot running. So, go ahead and open the Telegram app. You can do the same thing on your mobile as well, wherever you have the app, or you can just download it. Cloud Code will tell you exactly what to do here. So, we want [13:05] to open at BotFather. We go here, and we send new bot message. How are we going to call it? Okay, Ranking Shorts Review. And then it will ask for the username of the bot. So, we can do the username like this without spaces, and it's ending with bot. Done. Now, what I want to do is I want to save this access token. I'm [13:29] going to copy paste it. And I'm going to go to that environment file here, and I'm going to put the token here. Where the Telegram bot token is, after the equal sign. I'm going to close the file. I'm going to save it, and then I want to click here to open the chat and click start. And I'll say hello. And now we just tell Cloud bot ready API token saved in end [13:53] file. Okay, it's I see it's getting some problems reading the token, which is a bit weird, but it's probably going to sort it out. If not, then I'm going to sort it out. The token is now read correctly and the bot API answered. But the bot has no messages yet. Okay, let's just do it again. {slash} start. I did send start two times now to [14:13] the bot, not the bot bot. Okay, your start is there now. Just had an arrival and I checked a moment ago. We can see that the video is sent to my Telegram. I can show you how it looks on the mobile as well. Here it is. Okay, so now let's do a quick check-in of all the things. So we have the video sent to us in Telegram. We were able to approve it. Cloud Code noticed that we [14:39] approved it, so it got the information. It got the signal. But the last thing we need to do is we need to send it to Buffer. And to make Cloud Code talk to Buffer, we need to use Buffer's MCP. So to do that, we go to Buffer. We click here, and then we click on API. We scroll down a bit, and we click on connect on integration browse integrations. We click on Cloud, and we click on Cloud Code here. We need to copy this thing, and we need to put it here. Okay, now once it's done, what we need to do is we need to put in {slash} [15:06] MCP and then click on MCP servers. And we click on this one. Yours is going to be disconnected. Mine is already connected from before, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to reconnect it. What you're going to see is that it needs authentication. So we click authenticate, and it's going to open the Buffer in your browser. You click on recognize this trust and you trust this [15:24] URL and we we authenticate successfully. Authenticated. Check if it works. Okay, Buffer is fully working. Two decisions are yours before I can queue the video and the skill requires me to ask both. Which YouTube channel should the ranking videos be scheduled? So again, that's the channel. Buffer needs a public URL to fetch the video. Yeah, that works. And while it's working, I want you to check how much it cost me to make one video. Because we have Apify free account, Apify gives you $5 on your free account to run these scrapers. And we can see that I already used 48 cents. So one video cost 48 cents in total because [16:02] Buffer account is completely free until you connect not more than three channels. That's it. So the good thing also is that those videos that you scrape, you can store them in your computer and you can ask Cloud to try to reuse some videos with the time going. You don't need to ask to reuse them, but you can ask them to store them for the future when for example, now we did cat pranks, maybe later we're going to do some cats versus dogs and maybe some videos are going to match. So it can always just use those and it won't need at some point it will need to scrape less and [16:36] less. So each video will cost less to make. I mean, 40 cents is already pretty cheap. So that means you can test 10 videos completely for free. Let's see what the status is. Okay, we can see that the letter box that it wanted to use to send the file to Buffer API is down. I was going to use my GitHub repo and if you don't have your GitHub set up, just ask Cloud Code to lead you through the process, okay? I'm not going to show it now to not make this video too long, but GitHub is something you definitely need and want to have. GitHub is also free to have. So So now it's [17:06] trying to sort out how to pass this video to Buffer. And while it's working, I want to tell it one thing just to test the whole flow. And now, please, make a new video and I want to test the full flow of you creating the video then sending to my Telegram for me to approve and then I want you to schedule the video if approved to upload at least 3 hours from the last uploaded video and keep this as a permanent lesson that we don't want to post videos let's say 10 minutes to 15 minutes apart from each other. We want to spread them out a [17:39] little bit. Okay, I shouldn't probably put it this now while it's working but it shouldn't disrupt too much. Oh, okay. It was just done. So the cat prank video is queued and buffering crazy real. Let's see. We're going to go through the whole process again. Um Up next. Okay, we can see that one post is scheduled for today 8:00 p.m. I'm going to publish this one now just to see it in YouTube. Wow, okay. Yeah, it's it's going out. So let's wait for the one more video to come out. I want to get it to my Telegram. I want to show you how I approve it and I want to show [18:11] you how everything reaches YouTube without me literally touching anything because guys, the main lesson of this is that I can go to sleep tonight. I can ask Claude to make hundreds of these videos while I sleep, okay? Cuz Fable 5.1 is really good in doing very long extensive tasks. So I can really ask it to do 100 videos and then when it's done, I can ask it to send a video every time it wants to schedule something and [18:36] it will distribute them kind of evenly. I can I can get a video to approve every hour, let's say. Like really the the possibilities are endless. Like whatever you want to do. Maybe you don't want to approve them and you want all of them to be scheduled to spread spread it out like 4 hours apart from each one. It's really like this is really opportunity of a lifetime here. Yeah, we can see the [18:54] video is out. Here it is. And it puts the descriptions and the hashtags itself. Okay, so it's coming to an end. I'm just with my phone waiting for the approval message and we can see that approval message is here. So I can just watch the video straight from my phone. And if I want, I approve it. It's exactly what I'm doing now. I click approve. It can read it straight away after I click it. The video should come to here. And yeah, and when I go to Buffer now, I can see that the video is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. today. Yeah, that's all. You will be able to probably [19:30] check on my account when you want. I will probably test it out and try to schedule a lot of videos just to see how it works. I mean, I do have a couple of accounts that I already tested out on [clears throat] as a Facebook page and YouTube Shorts accounts, which are doing pretty well. I'm not going to share them now. I really advise you to take advantage of this as soon as the window is open. The window is probably open for not too long. Also, please consider joining my community and staying there if it seems relevant and beneficial for you because you can text me there. I always reply to [19:59] everyone there. I'm going to make some live videos. And that's just one of the things that I automated now. I do have quite a few tricks under my sleeves waiting for for the right time to come out to YouTube and my school community as well. So, see you guys. I hope you liked it.
