# Grok Bot with Its Own Slack Account in Minutes Channel: Inkbox (YC S26) Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QC9ECn3vVYg Duration: 3 min Language: English Words: 524 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/QC9ECn3vVYg --- [0:00] I'm going to show you how to get your Grokbot inside of your Slack in a matter of minutes. The existing Slack plugin lets your agent [music] read and write messages from your account. But, I want my Grokbot to have its own Slack identity, just [music] like any other assistant or employee. For this, I'll use Inkbox. [music] A communication layer for AI agents that gives them their own email, phone numbers, iMessage, [music] and now Slack [0:25] accounts. To start, I'll create an Inkbox identity for my agent. Let's call this agent Slack [music] Grokbot, and let's set an avatar for it so it shows up nicely in Slack. In the agent's workspace, I'll go to Slack and press on the Slack apps page link. Here, I'll scroll down and generate tokens [music] for the workspace I want my agent to join. In my case, it'll be their internal [music] Inkbox company workspace. Now, I need to copy the access and refresh tokens back [0:54] to the agent's [music] workspace. This creates an app for my Slack Grokbot. And now, [music] I need to connect the agent's app to the Inkbox workspace. [music] In order to have the agent recognize all members of the team, I'll go ahead and import everyone from the workspace as a contact. Looks like there are just three of us, which is correct. On the contacts page, I can see the suggested [music] contacts, and I'll approve Alex, Ray, and Dima for the [1:22] agent to see. Finally, it's time to connect my Grokbot. I'll ask it to get the Inkbox plugin and let me log in. [music] Here's the Inkbox identity we just created for it. Now, this step is very [music] important. This will allow Grokbot to wake up every time that somebody sends it a message, [music] so do not skip this step. Copy the setup prompt and press allow. Inside Grokbot, paste the prompt [music] [1:47] we just copied. This will create a routine. We need to press the webhook URL, which will show us the details of this [music] specific routine. I'll copy the fields over to Grokbot, which will finish the rest of the setup with Inkbox. [music] Now we're finally ready to test integration. I'll ask Grokbot to send me a Slack DM. [2:12] Great. Here's the message it just sent. Let's ask it some basic question. And here's its [music] reply, meaning that Grokbot sees the Inkbox Slack tools and wakes up when I send it a message. Let's see how well it can reply inside of a thread. [music] What is the weather in San Francisco? [2:37] Great. Looks like this works as well. Let's be polite and say thank you. Your Grokbot now has its own account inside of your Slack workspace, just like any other assistant or employee. You can message it inside of one-on-one DMs, group DMs, and even invite it to external or internal Slack channels. [music] We're shipping features every week, so [3:01] make sure to follow and subscribe.
