# How to Run Facebook Ads for Your Home Service Businesses Channel: Steve Hunsaker | Home Service Accelerator Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjccHdgdzVw Duration: 35 min Language: English Words: 8160 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/JjccHdgdzVw --- [0:00] I'm about to walk you through the exact process of setting up working Facebook and Instagram ads in your home service business step by step so you can just copy me. After helping over 550 home service businesses at the time of filming this video do this in their own companies, I'm confident that you are severely overpaying if you're paying agencies a,000, $1,500 or $2,000 a month to do something that you can do yourself for free. So, by the end of this video, you're going to have the process of setting up a Facebook ad completely dialed in and then [music] also be able to take actual live examples that myself [0:32] and some of our customers are actively running in their home service businesses right now and getting results. [music] So, you can take them and copy them in your own business. These are the exact templates that I use to scale my home service business up to 500K in our [music] peak season in one month and also do over a million dollars in a year. but also some of the templates I'll show you and the examples I'll show you are examples [music] from our active home service accelerator customers that have spent $10,000 plus dollars on these ads and returned over 400,000. So I'll [1:01] show you those examples in this video. So for step one, let's talk about the ad creative and the copy is this means this is what the end user that's scrolling Facebook or Instagram will see on their phone. So ad creative can be the video that you're running as an ad or the still image photo that you're running as an ad and then the copy would be the actual text that's in the timeline that they see. So when you're scrolling through Instagram and you see like a sponsored reel when you're scrolling through and then you see the ad creative would be the video itself and the copy [1:29] would be the caption, the headline, all of the other stuff that you see on the platform when you're doom scrolling on Instagram or Facebook. So, one of the most tried andrue templates that we've seen work for home service businesses is the owner intro template with an expiring value proposition at the end. And so, this is how it runs down. Every single business we have come through Home Service Accelerator runs this exact ad template. And it is the foolproof triedand-true system that works across all different types of home service businesses. And so, the structure follows a certain format. You introduce yourself as the owner first. Combining it with calling out the location that [2:05] you're running the advertisement in. And so it's what's up Scottdale homeowners. What's up Gilbert, Arizona homeowners? What's up Upper East Side homeowners? My name is Steve. I'm the owner of Blank. And so you see the structure and you'll see it in the examples I show you as well. And then you talk about what you do, why you're different, and then you give an expiring offer at the end. So, some people in the middle of this will either, you know, cut in a video of them interviewing a customer as like a user testimonial, or some people will just explain exactly what their business does, throw in some B-roll or some [2:34] photos of them doing a job, and then cut to the uh expiring value proposition at the end. The beauty of this model and the reason it works so well is everybody is over advertised to right now. And so the reason the owner intro ad is so overpowered is it cuts through the noise of paid advertising and it shows people that the ad that is being showed to them on their phone or on Instagram or Facebook right now is local. And then it also builds trust at the same time because you showcase that you are also a local business owner in their market and you're talking to the camera with your [3:05] face on the camera. And the most important part about this as well is you need to be in branded uniform, ideally in front of your branded vehicle when you intro them. And so you look the part subconsciously and you look like their local neighbor. And this is the part that a lot of people miss. Like don't go out there and just throw on a white t-shirt and just film and talk willy-nilly because you're going to attract a lower intent customer because you're not building brand at the same time. You're just generating leads. And [3:31] so that's the thing that's different. And this is how you build that kind of local celebrity status in your market. Because when you scale the ads profitably, you start at $50 a day, then you go to $100 a day, and then you go to $150 a day. Every single time you're working these ads, and these ads are showing to people, you're one generating leads, first name, last name, email, whatever you need, and people that have interest in you, but you're also building brand at the same time. And so [3:54] that's why that trust is so important. The local banker sees your ad and goes, "Oh, I I know that guy." or the person at the coffee shop you go to can see that ad on their phone all the way down the line. And so you build this local celebrity status for your business where those people might not convert right away. But the reason this works so well is it builds your brand and generates leads at the same time. And so ideally you want to keep this between 30 45 seconds maybe a minute plus like at the absolute most. But don't go film this and take 2 minutes or 3 minutes. The [4:23] placement is going to be really expensive. People aren't going to watch as long and it's not going to perform as well. But outside of that, if you're watching this, you're thinking like, "Oh, do I need to go get a professional camera? Do I need to hire a videographer?" You do not. You can film these ads with an iPhone and a nice little Amazon microphone just to make [4:38] the audio quality a little bit better. And most of these Amazon microphones just plug into the bottom of your phone anyway. They can cost anywhere between 50 to, you know, two 300 bucks depending on how quality you want to get it. I recommend getting a better microphone than you think because if you talk to anybody in media, you can know the universal rule is people will put up with a little bit lower quality video, but they will not put up with scratchy lowquality audio. So, think about yourself as a user. If you're concerned about the quality of your video, change that frame to be concerned about the [5:06] quality of the audio. Your iPhone video camera right now or your nice Android video camera right now in 2026 and beyond is a better camera than what they filmed Hollywood movies with 25, 30 years ago. So, you're fine. There's little things you can do with the iPhone to make it perform better. Okay, so now let's go to a live example of one of our home service accelerator customers and [5:27] walk through why this ad works so well. At the time of filming this ad, this ad has been running for them for a long time. It's just tried and true and crushes. They spent a little bit over five figures. So, I think it was like $11,000 on this ad. And they've returned over 400,000. Now, I want to preface this. When you're watching this video, do not think that those results are 100% normal and every single [music] person will get these results. These guys have tried and tested tons and tons and tons of creative and found the winner. These guys are also dogs. They're incredibly good at running their business and [6:00] they're incredibly gifted salespeople. And so I just don't want to sit up here and talk about all these crazy results and say like this is the universal law for everybody. I want to be transparent with you that even if you got half of the results that they got or a quarter of the results that they got, you would still print money. But the difference is I want to showcase the guys that are crushing and winning so you can take inspiration and grow in the same way [6:21] they have. Hey East Valley homeowners, stop scrolling. My name's Herman [music] Desma with Led Desma Remodeling and we are your number one choice for bathroom design and remodel. But don't just take my word for it. Okay, perfect example. How does he start that ad? What's up, East Valley homeowners? And then he introduces himself and his business and he talks about the exact value proposition that they provide in their market. But also, outside of just the auditory thing, think about what else you see. You see him branded in uniform. You see him in front of a beautifully wrapped branded vehicle. And he's following the exact structure we talked about. Now, the part [6:53] that differs a little bit, and this is what happens when you get really good at running ads, is he also goes in and instead of just doing an explained value proposition, he goes straight to a customer testimonial because you can talk about how great your business is all day long, but another really powerful tool for you running effective ads is you go in and you interview a [7:16] happy customer and get that clip. Because when the customer on the enduser side of Facebook and Instagram sees that someone else in their market paid you and is happy to pay you, that resonates a lot harder and a lot stronger than just, "Oh, hey guys, we're great. We're a local business. We're great. Thanks so much for watching our ad. Now come give us $10,000." Social proof is an [7:36] incredibly powerful tool. This is what our clients Hillary and Gilbert [music] had to say about their experience working with us. Why Why did you guys decide it was time to remodel the the bathtubs? They were awful. They were from 1996. [music] They were dated. um they had been repainted multiple times by previous homeowners and they were just it was time to make a change. I guess [music] hotel rooms always have the best bathrooms and and showers and so that's kind of what I envisioned. I didn't need it to be that fancy, but I wanted it to be that kind of like a spa [music] relaxed spa vibe and we definitely I [8:04] think achieved that. My favorite part of the experience was getting to know [music] you guys, your dad. Like it just it felt like we had other family coming in like it [music] in the morning, you know, it was the morning and whatever and it like it was like we had like my sons are home. [laughter] So I think it makes a big [music] difference when you guys make it [8:20] personal. What I would tell folks is that I was able to communicate directly with you. Whenever we had a question, you got back to us, you know, within [music] minutes and even if it were able to have a phone conversation right away, it was scheduled and all of our questions were answered whenever they came up [music] like, "Hey, we have a concern about [8:34] this." You walked us through the whole process. And also, I I don't think people can visualize the way that they think they can. We were the only company that offered us the ability to [music] see what we were going to do before we did it and really see it. family-owned businesses always come through. I mean, they do so good, right? Like, follow the structure to a tea. Now, they're running a bunch of different creatives. Some of them have really aggressive call to actions at the end. In this video, the aspiring offer is actually in their ad copy. So, it's like in the text as well, which is another thing you can do if you [9:07] don't want to put it in the video portion as well. You can also just put it in the ad copy. So, now let's go to one of my ads in my business. And this is the ad that performed the best this year for us. And we put a lot of friction in our lead form as well with this ad. And it got us not only just a lot of leads, but it got us a lot of quality leads because they're not even allowed to submit a form on our ads without acknowledging that the business costs $999 minimum for us to even come out. And so when you're running a [9:34] business where maybe you've run Facebook ads in the past or Instagram ads in the past and you felt like the quality of lead is really bad, that's something you can do is my business is ultra white glove. It's really expensive. So we don't want people even thinking about having us come out and walk through an entire quote if they're not pre-qualified a little bit. Now that's a [9:52] little bit more of an advanced strategy. That's what we would implement in Home Service Accelerator Pro for people and like kind of strategize about it. But if you've run them in the past and you're diying it right now and watching this video and you're disenchanted with the quality of lead, add some friction in the form of like a a minimum charge or something like that and they have to acknowledge. Now with that, your cost per lead will go up obviously because you won't get a bunch of crappy tire kickers, but typically when your cost per lead goes up, what else goes up is the quality of the lead. And that's what [10:21] we wanted and that's what made sense in our sales model. So I want to show you guys ours as well. My name is Steve. I'm the owner of Valley Christmas Lights and I'm standing in front of a home in Arcadia that we installed this year. Right now it's during the day, but check out what this home looks like at night. We did roof line, we did a little bit of reads, we did some ground stakes, we wrapped a lot of their bushes, we lined their walkways with some ground stake lighting, and then we also hung some beautiful shimmering spheres in the trees. If you want something similar on your home or [10:46] business, click the get colt now button right on this video and we'll apply $150 off coupon directly to your estimate for the 2025 season. Okay, so this is an example of I kept this ad to 29 seconds, but if you notice the beginning of the ad, what do I do on every single time? There's a visual hook. A visual hook, meaning I don't even like say Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Arcadia, all this other stuff. Like in some of the other ads, this one, I put a visual hook and I briefly say the neighborhood [11:12] we're in. My name is Steve. I'm the owner of Valley Christmas Lights and I'm standing in front of a home in Arcadia that we installed this year. Right now it's during the day. So you don't always have to do an auditory and visual hook at the same time. You can also pick and choose one or the other as you get better at running ads. And so in this one I don't say what's up Scott Paradise Valley Arcadia homeowners. We put it on the screen because we wanted to showcase the beauty of our display with the visual and grab them there. But the structure of the ad is the same regardless of [11:43] whether I'm saying it or putting it as a visual hook which is you see on the top of the video or both. And there's different ads we run that do different combinations of it. And but then when we find the winning ad, Facebook and Instagram put more budget into that app. Okay. So now I'm in the ads manager on [11:56] one of my old old Facebook ad accounts. And so what I'm going to go through now is the exact process of how we set up the lead form ads in Facebook and Instagram ads in Home Service Accelerator and beyond. Now, if you want more in-depth stuff, obviously this YouTube video is not going to be 2 hours long and have a bunch of stuff, but this is just like the baseline of how we do it. So, we go in and create a new campaign. We always do leads as the conversion event. And then we go straight in here and we set the budget at whatever we want. So, if you're doing [12:26] campaign budget, typically that's how we would just set it up. So, we would do, you know, $100 a day. And then what that does is when you have it set up this way, it'll spend your money on the entire campaign and not on each individual ad. And so because Facebook's algorithm is obviously going to choose which ad is performing the best for you when you have this setting. And so you don't actually necessarily have to go in [12:50] and be like, "Oh, I got to kill this ad. I got to kill this ad." Facebook will do it for you in the beginning when you have this setting set up. And so then you'd set your budget at a hundred bucks on the campaign. you're generating leads and then you go into the ad set side. This is where you would name your ad set. So I just call it ads set one cuz I'm just going through and then some [13:09] people will have this catalog button. Just ignore it. Like different Facebook ads managers have different settings on the adset side. So if you see on the left, this is the campaign and then this is the ad set and then the ads will be down here. But what the the thing you want to understand with these rules is a campaign is where you set up what the conversion event is. And so what I mean by the conversion event for dummies is like you can run a Facebook ad campaign to get uh messaging conversations. You can run a Facebook ad campaign where the conversion event is phone calls. You can [13:40] run a Facebook ad campaign where the conversion event is lead forms. You can run a Facebook ad campaign where the conversion event is just clicks to your website. The thing you want to do is lead forms because every time someone submits a lead form for you, that's the conversion event on the campaign that we set here. So leads was the campaign objective. That's what we want because every time someone submits a lead, it tells the algorithm more people like that. And so then it will show you and the pixel data gets a lot more clean that way. So now we're on the adset side. We're going through again the user [14:06] interface is weird. Like the catalog thing shows up for some people, doesn't for others. It's very strange. That's like a very common thing with Facebook is it's just like it'll show random stuff all the time. And then your start date, just leave it where you're at. It'll always pre-populate to like when you set up this campaign originally. And then like ignore all the budgets, scheduling, and stuff like that. you don't need anything there. Then on the audience side, you do want to kind of make sure you're dialed in here. So the first thing you'll do is make sure your locations are dialed in. So you're going [14:33] to want to like add in like let's say I want to run it in just, you know, Scottdale, Arizona and nowhere else. I would type in Scottsdale, Arizona. And then there's going to be a setting here where it's going to prepopulate to Scottsdale plus 25 miles. It's going to have like a huge radius. I actually recommend shrinking the radius down a ton or just going current city only. So now it's just if the phone and IP address is in Scottsdale, that's the only people that are going to get the ads for the most part. Now remember, Facebook is interruption style marketing. And so if somebody is, you [15:06] know, living 20 miles west or, you know, 2 hours west and they're vacationing in Scottsdale, they can get the ad if they go into that service area. But for a large part, it won't really matter. But this is super important. Uncheck the reach more people likely to respond button. So what Facebook's saying there is we'll also reach people interested in your selected cities and regions in these countries. Like do not select that because what happens if you select that is that's where people start getting results from people outside of where their ads are targeting. Now remember from the beginning we want to build brand in a local area. Like I don't want [15:40] to run ads in a 100 square mile radius just cuz maybe some people will want to spend money 50 miles away. That's not a good strategy. You want to dial it into a smaller place. I always uncheck that box because Facebook's going to try to like go out. And you can see, for example, like in one of our campaigns in the past where I accidentally left that on, we were getting leads in Tucson, Arizona. It's 2 hours south. And so it's like it's complete waste of money because Facebook's only goal is to get you leads. And so when you have that AI targeting setting on, it's going to try [16:11] to get you leads at all costs. And so it's going to go out of your service area a little bit, out of your targeting settings. You don't want that. And so then when you go down here, you can experiment with these. There's some best practices that say like don't touch the language settings, don't touch anything else cuz remember the creative is finding the customer for you. If you're speaking English in your creative, it's going to reach mostly English- speakaking people anyway. So, a lot of people think like, oh, selecting these different languages and everything like that, like, oh, I just want English speaking people. It's going to do it for [16:38] you naturally. And what the common practice now in 2026 and beyond is is most of the time when you add more settings like that, it actually ends up hurting the campaigns for a variety of different reasons. Most of the time you just want the uh the algorithm to cook. And so that's like pretty much the main structure. Outside of that, there's a bunch of little nuance there. Like you can target like we recommend not even doing detailed targeting at all like for a first campaign. Uh, so like this is where like in the past you used to be able to type in like different people's interests. These days you don't really [17:11] need to do that. The creative is finding the audience for you. And then placements. Typically we leave advantage plus on, but sometimes as you get in you start making more campaigns, you can switch it up a little bit. I recommend just leaving it on right now, but typically when you turn this off, you can place your ads on different portions of the Facebook experience. So when you have this advantage plus on, Facebook's going to do its best and Instagram is going to do its best to get you conversions of any kind. That means they're going to show your ads on, you know, uh, when someone's scrolling [17:37] Facebook Marketplace or when someone's on the Facebook feed or someone's on Instagram reels or someone's watching Instagram stories. There's literally like 50 plus different places across the platforms that you can place ads. But for the most part, even if you have Advantage Plus on, it's only going to show like 90% of your ads on Instagram reels, Instagram feed, Facebook reels, Facebook feed, and timeline, and then [17:59] like a little bit of story placement. So, even if you have Advantage Plus on, it's not going to spend a crazy amount of your budget on like non-performing partner sites or stuff like that. And this is the part where like maybe your agency or someone else is, "Oh, no, you got to just go to you got to just you got to make sure you tell it exactly where to go. Instagram reels only, feed only." Like, if you run a campaign and you find that you're getting a bunch of lowquality leads, you can turn here. But for a first campaign, just leave it broad and just make sure that you have [18:24] the placement targeting off that I had listed up here, and you should be good. The only other thing that I think you probably can do in terms of targeting, and we do this a lot of the time, is like if you're never going to have a customer that's younger than 25 or something, you could put this on. But remember, the reason why like even the age targeting gets a little hairy is like just put 25 and move on. Is a lot of people lie about their age when they sign up for Facebook. And so Facebook's using this tool to target your ads. A lot of people lie about their age. They [18:54] put random birthdays. Like a 60-year-old puts, you know, they were born in 1995. A 25-year-old puts that they were born in 1960. Like, I don't think that my birthday in Facebook's even accurate on my own account. And so, as you guys are watching this video, you're going to hear me say things that other people disagree on because Facebook doesn't just come out and tell everybody a a rule book about exact targeting settings for local businesses. So, you might disagree with me on some, you might agree with me on some. All I know is that I've helped over 550 home service businesses set up Facebook ads at a [19:23] extremely extremely high success rate. So this is just the best practice for us. And then on the other side, just completely ignore the campaign score. Like [music] it's an algorithm thing. Completely ignore it. But now let's move on to the ad setting, which we would go down to the ad. And then this is how you would actually add the creatives and different stuff like that. But before I do that, if this seems complicated to you, I'm trying to make this as concise and easy in a YouTube video as I possibly can. But there's so many little nuances to the business that if you don't want to pay the incompetency tax [19:52] of trying a bunch of different campaigns and all this other stuff and you want a little bit of help and consulting on it as you set it up, you can join Home Service Accelerator Pro. Like that is where over 550 businesses at the time of filming this video have set up their own Facebook and Instagram ad strategies, their Google Maps SEO, all of their systems on the back end. Things like when someone submits the form, are you sending an auto text to them? Is your phone dropping an email to them? Uh all this other stuff automatically. If you want more in-depth one-on-one help and group setting help on that, there's a [20:22] link in the description and in the comments that you can apply to join Home Service Accelerator Pro. That's where we help home service businesses develop their own strategy for this instead of you paying an agency a flat fee of $1,000, $1,500, $2,000 a month for the rest of your life. We could help you on the front end. We'll record the setup that we do with you. So you can have that in your systems forever and then your business is a lot more agile that way. But let's go back to the ads. Now you've set up the ad set. Now you're on the ads. So on this one, we would call [20:48] it ad one. Or if you like, you know, you filmed one ad in front of your truck, you can name it like truck ad one. That way it's easy for you to track. [music] Uh, and then the same thing here. What you want to do here is I actually like to turn off multi-advertiser ads. What that means is like when you're running an ad on Facebook or Instagram and you have that setting on, what it'll do is like I'm sure you guys have seen this when you're using Facebook and Instagram yourself. If you're like scrolling and then you randomly see a cluster of like four ads and they're like all right next [21:15] to each other, maybe you're scrolling reels on Instagram, then you randomly see that. That's what that means. And so basically like what Facebook says is your ad can appear with others in the same ad unit to promote discoverability. So obviously that placement is going to be very cheap, but it's going to put you in like a cluster of like four other ads. I don't really like it. Will your ad campaigns not perform if you have it on? Probably not. But for best practice, we typically turn that off. And then the destination is where you'd create your lead form. So again, when you create your lead form, this is what the [21:43] person's actually filling out on like when they click get quote on the app, this is what they would actually fill out. So, I'm just going to for the sake of this video do form one and then keep the setting at more volume and then [music] boom. You're going to go to the next setting and then it's going to be like what do you want your intro to be? Now, for example, on here you guys can do this however you want. You can film your [22:03] own. You can or you can create your own. But like the headline is like when you guys are filming this out on the right side of the screen, this is just going to show you whatever you want to have your customers see. So like for on the headline you can say you know Arizona's for this one let's just call it Arizona's number one junk removal business. Now I'm just making one for junk removal as an example. You guys don't have to do this but then boom there's that. And then you can put you know your paragraph in the beginning here. I'll just jump over to one of my [22:34] ads and show you guys exactly how like ours is set up. Okay. So here's how my form looks. So up top this is the name. This is my form where I talk about like, you know, we we're talking about adding friction to make sure that the lead quality is higher. Remember, the business I'm using as an example here is an extremely high average ticket business. And so, I'm going to have more friction in there because I need more friction so I don't have a bunch of tire kickers coming and breaking down my door. So, the names up top. I have more volume set up. And then, uh, for [23:05] flexible form delivery, I just have it optimized. And then up here, this is the intro section. I use an image that looks kind of good on the background that just kind of showcases exactly what they're getting. And then the color scheme you can kind of fool around with if you have that option. It really doesn't matter. Uh, and then as the headline, I put residential and commercial smart track lighting. That shows up right here. And then on the description, I like to do like bullet points like this. So this is what the customer is seeing on their phone. Like what you see on this side is [23:30] what the customer is seeing. So our all-inclusive service includes full design tailored to your roof line and yard. uh expert and safe installation of top quality products, year-round maintenance and mobile app updates. And then boom, what they're doing down here is I have one kind of friction test where I I have it written, are you looking to have us install in your home or business? So why that's so important is that's going to be the first question here. U and why that's so important is that goes into our CRM to know whether this is like a, you know, a commercial opportunity or a residential opportunity. Again, that's a question [24:02] for our own business. You might not need that. Uh, but that's just what we have. And so, boom, we've got it here. This is what question one is. Are you looking to in to have us install on your home or business? It's a multiple choice question. They click whichever one they want and then they move on. And then this is the friction point that I have that you might not need, but this is what I have because I want quality leads, not quantity, because I want the pixel to learn cleanly. And so, if I didn't have question two, my cost per lead would be probably 20% of what my [24:29] cost per lead is now. But again, if you have no quality and you have no friction, a lot of the time what happens is every person in your market is going to convert on this, regardless of income, people fill out stuff all the time that they don't need or want at all. And so what happens is your sales process starts to suffer because of every 15 leads you're getting, maybe [24:48] only one or two are actually interested. And so when we put this question, are you aware that our minimum pricing for the service starts at $999, but is on a case-by case basis depending on how much product is needed? Boom. Then that kicks out a lot of tire kickers and makes the lead quality a lot better. So then after that on the description for contact info, we say, "Let us know the best uh let us know the best way to reach you to get started." Then boom, when you see down here, I'll go through and show you [25:11] guys how it looks to the customer side. Boom. Yes, I understand the package. And then contact info. Email, first name, last name, phone number, city. Now, another piece of friction is how much contact info you ask them for. If you ask them for email, phone number, and address, you will also have a higher cost per lead. The second you ask them for a full address, your cost per lead will increase because again, they don't know you that well. People are a lot more leery to give their full address [25:38] than they are to just give the city. Typically, we get the city on the lead form. This is where we kind of sacrifice a little bit of quality to make up for the quantity side. And so we just get emails so we can retarget them with emails and like email nurtures down the rest of the the entire year. And then we get their first name, last name, and phone number because obviously most of the sales are going to happen for the phone number. We're of course not going to make any of these optional. Like these are these are not optional. Like we want them. And then boom, that's what [26:03] the customer sees. They fill that out and then the privacy policies here. You just put a privacy policy. Google anyone, but you just put the privacy policy on your website and most of the time Facebook will just approve it. It's very easy to do. You can find a privacy policy that explains exactly what Facebook needs. Just Google it. It's very easy. And then after they fill it out, this is really important. After they fill it out, your headline needs to say, "Thanks. You're all set." And then say, "Feel free to call now for an additional $100 off coupon. Just mention this post." [music] And then this is how [26:31] you convert the super aggressive buyers. Like they can have a prompt to click this button on the bottom and it will call you. So obviously we've got the phone number blocked out here cuz I don't need that on YouTube. And then this is how it looks on Instagram, too. So, if I go through here, that was the Facebook one. This is how it looks on Instagram. It's very similar. That would be your main rock. Now, your form is filled out. And these are just variations of different ads we're running. But that was a good recording of like all of our ads. So, now I'm back to our dummy campaign where I was [26:58] starting from scratch. So, you can see it. If I kept showing mine, it would just be confusing cuz this would be all filled out. So, now you're there. Your lead form has been created. And now what you're going to do is you're going to set up your ad creative. So, this is where you would upload your videos or images here. So, for the sake of this video, I'm going to click setup creative. I'm going to add a video. And then you're going to just upload it from your computer, wherever else, just like you had in the past. Uh any creatives you made, whether it's a still image, a [27:21] video, that's going to go right there. And then once you upload the creative, that's where you're going to actually like start filling out uh you know, the copy and all that. So, when I click next here, it's going to ask a bunch of questions. Going to have me trim this, crop it to make it fit in different settings. This is where you're going to put the text. So the primary text is what shows on the main ad itself. The headline is the bold part that shows like kind of right under or above depending on where the placement is all of the ads. Again the description shows [27:49] in some placements doesn't show in others. Most of the time we use the call to action get quote but some people use book now some people use get in touch. Some people use learn more. We just find get quote works the best cuz people want to get a quote so that performs a little bit better. And then enhancements really important. Turn all of these off. So, on the enhancement side, turn all of these off. All of these settings suck and you [28:12] have to manually do it every time. [music] Then you click done. And then your headline and everything that you just filled out back there is right here. And then you're good to go. So again, this was kind of like, you know, a how-to on on the the very like kindergarten to 7th grade level of [28:25] setting up Facebook and Instagram ads. Now, if you want more detailed help, you can obviously, you know, apply for the Home Service Accelerator. Uh or you can just keep watching the YouTube videos. There's been videos where I've talked about how to build creative. There's been videos that I've talked about how to build ads. But to be honest with you, like each business has little nuances to it and strategy, different things that that would be more applicable to your individual business. So, if you want a little bit more tailored help on it, you can apply to join the home service accelerator. But I want to showcase this [28:49] to you guys. Like, if you don't have good systems, like if you don't have really dialed in speed to lead, if you don't answer your phone, if you don't have a really good follow-up sequence, if you don't get out to quote requests in a day or two at the absolute most or same day, you will not get great results. So, don't watch these YouTube videos, set up ads, and then take two days to get back to people or just like get the lead forms sent to your email and manually call them once and then never call them again. Because what's going to happen is you're going to get [29:16] on my YouTube and you're going to say, "Well, the Facebook ads don't work." And it's like, "No, you don't work. Your systems don't work." If I didn't have like my speed to lead systems dialed in, if I didn't have super fast contact to quotes, if I didn't have guys getting out same day and next day to go out to quotes and and and book same day jobs, then we would not get the results that we've gotten. And in this Christmas season alone, we sold almost $500,000 of new business in a month and a half period. In a month and a half. But even in my own business, if I didn't have all [29:45] these systems dialed in, like for my lighting business, in just this season, which is a little bit over two months of running ads, we got over $500,000 of new business across all of my marketing platforms, postcards, Facebook ads, Instagram ads, Google pay-per-click ads, my gift card campaigns. I don't think I spent more than like $75,000. So, I got a lot of new business off of my marketing spent. Now, it scales up. Like you guys don't need to go rip $75,000 in ad spend in your businesses depending on the size. You start small and you keep going and you keep perfecting your systems and working. But again, do not [30:20] do this if you're not committed to being fast. If you're not committed to having a good follow-up sequence, if you're not committed to testing a bunch of different creatives outside of all the things we talked about here, if you're running a Facebook ad campaign with only one ad, you're going to lose. Like, you need [music] to test a bunch of different videos, a bunch of different photos, a bunch of different combinations of ad copy, and everything else to find the winner. And so that's incredibly important, but results are there if you do it properly. But what most people do is they watch my videos on YouTube or they watch someone else's [30:50] videos on YouTube and then they get antsy and they just want to publish an ad. And so they follow the steps 90% of the way I did it and then they only publish one ad. They run the ad at $25 a day and then of that one creative, Facebook didn't get a chance to even like try to feed people multiple at a time to convert them. And so what happens is they get bad results and then they go, "Facebook ads don't work." And like just to be completely honest with you guys, Facebook is a damn near trillion dollar company for a reason. If Facebook ads did not work, Facebook [31:18] would not be the size of the business that it is. The main way Facebook makes money, Meta makes money, is from businesses like you and I and then e-commerce businesses, tons of other different brands giving them money to show their users ads. So for someone to say Facebook and Instagram ads don't work 99% of the time it is a skill issue not a platform issue. And so I was that person 5 years ago. I was like I tried it a few times. They had worked [31:47] sometimes they didn't work other times. I'd given up and said Facebook ads don't work. Don't be me 5 years ago. Once I discovered actually how to crack it works. It's advertising. It's putting your brand in front of a lot of people. Now advertising is a skill. You need to get better at the skill and not just throw the platform out with the bathwater because you say you ran one campaign with one with one creative and it didn't work. You can't just throw the ad platform out with the bathwater because you ran one campaign and one creative and got sad because you didn't even try nearly as hard as you needed to [32:17] try to make it work and then you complain and say Facebook ads don't work. Like we had a guy book a meeting with Home Service Accelerator the other day to tell us that Facebook ads don't work in the state of California. just p like end of story. He said, "Facebook ads don't work in the state of California." And at that point, we were like, "You're right. You're right. If if that's what you think, then you're doomed already. There's nothing I can tell you. There's nothing I convince you. If you think that a damn near trillion dollar advertising business doesn't work in the state of California, then you're just doomed. I'm not going [32:47] to mince words on this channel. That's just the reality. So, if that's the case and you're coming into this with like maybe a tentative thought process on it, then you're already doomed. But it's a skill issue and it's a skill that you need to develop and test and you need to put your best foot forward. And the alternative to like if you're watching this and and you don't know how to get leads any other way, like what other choice do you have? You know, you could run Google pay-per-click ads, you can run mailers, you can do a lot of the other stuff. There's very few advertising platforms where you can [33:13] start at $25 to $50 a day and then get your feet under. That's why it's so amazing for smaller businesses. And it's also scalable as you get bigger as well because you can just control budget. So, now you know the baseline model of how to set up and run a Facebook and Instagram ad in your home service business. You've got enough to be dangerous. But if you want a lot more in-depth and dialed in coaching and training on exactly how to set them up in your business, but then also get around other people, other home service businesses that are also running it and learn from them. Get little nuanced tips [33:41] and tricks that are working for people live and all that jazz. Feel free to join the Home Service Accelerator Pro.
