How are you doing? Hello. I'm doing great, thanks. How are you? Very good. Very good. It's great to see you again. And have this possibility to to have a chat, see where you're at. Um I've heard some great progress from you in the Bone Club. So, I I thought it was a good um you know, it was good to catch up and see where you were where you were at and [0:30] hear more about um your journey so far. So, before we we go any further, right? Like who are you and what do you do? Let's do a a brief introduction. Yeah. So, my name is Tian Tua. I'm a freelance web designer. I've been freelancing for 4 and a half years now and I joined the bond club uh last year in June I think and uh yeah doing mostly web design and um yeah I think that's it. Yeah, great. Um where are you from if you don't mind? Uh yeah I'm from Madagascar. It's an island next in the Indian Ocean. Uh, I think I'm the the only Pont Club member from Madagascar. I [1:22] think you've told me that I am the first person from Madagascar that you talk to. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. The only one I would say. Um, so it's it's very exciting. So, um, okay. So, that's who you are. Um, now what did your life look like prior to enrolling to the pawn club? I'm I'm bringing up your profile to see exactly when when did you [1:52] uh enroll, but please go. Yeah. So, before joining the bond club, I think I I was lost in my freelance journey. like I didn't really know where to go because like you know there were lots of highs but a lots of lows as well. So things were unstable I would say. Plus I think I'm I'm quite of a lone wolfer. So uh I was solo on my journey. I didn't really have people to talk to to share you know my journey. like if I wanted to get some uh I don't know some reviews on my design or just just having friends in the field to talk to. I didn't really [2:39] know where who to talk to. So, uh, lots of considerations and there was even at some point where I felt like I've considered returning to applying to jobs as a, you know, uh, full-time jobs because I feel like the freelance journey was hitting a point, a plateau where I couldn't improve anymore. Okay. Okay. Um, by the way, you've been in the Bunk Club for one year exactly. Um, if I don't get this wrong, our our last sales call was um was on the 24th of April last year. Okay. So, almost almost a year you're almost about to um to have your one year anniversary. That sounds great. That [3:35] sounds really weird. But um I forgot about that. I thought I joined the bone club in June, but yeah. Okay. Yeah. Um so it's been a year. Um what like how has been your journey so far um in this year? Yeah. So what I think how I approached the bone club was like I need something to [4:05] help me reposition myself in the field. Do I have like a coach to tell me what I need to do? Like where are the points that I need to improve? So, so far I feel like joining the bone club helped me um like understand the points that I needed to improve. Like for example, I think last year just at this time um my website was just released and I thought that okay, I need a website to change my business. Like I've been waiting to [4:42] finish the website for probably a year. So I was like, okay, I need to finish this. So when I'm when this website will be released, I will probably get a lots of clients, which was not the case. And that's one thing that the blueprint thought like it's not about having a website or not. It's about being out there and choosing the right niche and understanding the sales process. And all those things really helped me throughout like the last year since up until now. And I think one thing that really changed too is like now I'm saying no to more and more projects like I think I get lots and lots of clients [5:34] who need websites but like I think before the bond club it was like okay so this is a project I need project because I need money and if I'm not taking this project like I'm gonna run low on money so Yeah, even though some projects didn't really align with what I want or with my design taste, I had to take them compared to now where I think I'm saying no to maybe 90% of or even more. Wow, [6:09] that's amazing. So yeah, I'd rather take, you know, projects that that I really like instead of working on lots of projects that I feel like are not aligned with with what I want to do. That's amazing, man. I'm I'm so proud of you. I didn't know that. Um yeah, I remember I remember that when we talked last year, you were taking taking every project that you that came your way. Uh it's amazing that that you could in a year start filtering out so many projects and being so picky. Um I was going to ask like what are the tangible results that you have achieved? So one [6:55] is 90% uh of your projects that come in you say no to. That's that's what to me that's that's one of the main uh goals of the bone club I would say. So that's amazing. Uh any other tangible results that you're happy to share? Yeah. So, I think the the most remarkable result is that uh I've built like a pipeline of clients for this year. So, I can say that I'm close to being full or even full, but I don't like to be like very very full because I like to keep some time for me to to to do personal projects or even allow like clients that that that I [7:43] would really like, you know, like, okay, if this is something that I really want to work on, then I still have the time for it. So yeah, that's the biggest result I guess is being almost full for the year. Uh, another awesome result I would say is uh increase in my revenue. So I think last year I've made uh I don't have like the numbers but probably like 2K 3K around 4K for the whole year which is I think is not necessarily bad here in Madagascar but yeah it's still lots of instabilities and even though some projects were good uh it's it's the highs and lows that [8:31] really that really hurts. compared to this year where I think all the all the projects that I'm taking are are good products that pay well. Uh I charge usually from 2.5K to 7K plus. Mhm. So are you happy with the revenue that you're having monthly? Uh yeah, I'm happy. I think well now I think I'm making around like uh if I'm [9:05] going to say average probably 3.5. That's great man. Um from four from from being from that being your yearly number Yeah. to now being your monthly number. That's like 12 12 times more. That's amazing man. Um that's amazing. Yeah. I think these are like very good numbers. I'm really happy with that. Um, and I'm [9:33] hoping to grow even more in the future. That's I don't know where this goes, but until now it's awesome. Amazing, man. I'm so happy to hear that. And I I love this. Uh, now that we're talking about this numbers, right? I want to emphasize this, right? Many many people hear this 10K a month. 10K a month and it seems to be like a magical number, right? But for you, right, you have um you're charging, let's say, 2.57, maybe you're not hitting 10K a month yet, right? But you're still financially peaceful. You're still in a place where you can discard or let's say filter out and say no to 90% of the [10:24] projects that come in. you have built a pipeline for almost a year, right? And so to me that's to me right at least it's more important than hitting a specific number. Does that make sense for you? Like how do you see that? Yeah, absolutely. I think it doesn't really have to do with the numbers. It's just about continuity. like if I'm feeling like okay I can remain uh confident that I'll have enough projects for the year uh like I don't I won't have to worry about like having to find the project for to cover next month's charge and stuff like this I think it's already good like if if if you're [11:15] feeling like okay I don't have to stress about money and worry about all the things and worry about like having a project to work on. I think it's already good. Yeah. I don't think you need to rush to get 10K, 20K, 100K as long as you're happy with what you have. I think it's what matters the most. Totally. Totally. And I think there's also other um other valuable um metrics to pursue like the time the free time that you have to spend on the things that you love, right? The the creative freedom that you have to be able to pursue the type of projects that you like. Um I [12:00] think there's many other like to me it's the time with my family. it's the time that I that I can spend doing the things that matter most to me. Um, so I'm I'm very happy to hear that first of all, you've grown a lot in the last year in revenue-wise, the type of projects that you're taking, um, the consistency, right? That's um, yeah, that's amazing. now um in that you're not um that you're not worrying about a specific number. I love that. Now, in terms of um recovering the investment, do have you recovered the investment that you made in the bone club and like [12:49] around how much time did it take you? Uh yeah, absolutely recovered the investment. I think um I uh like I think it took me probably a month or two Oh, really? to recover the investment. Like yeah, since January, I think I've recovered probably twice the amount for now. So yeah, that's amazing. Definitely. I think it it was amazing how you you took this really like this investment really serious and uh or really seriously and you even sold I remember this you sold your your iPad at the time. That's it exactly. Um I remember to to make this investment and now you're here now you can buy iPads. Well, I can buy probably two [13:44] or three iPads, right? Um, so that's amazing. I'm I'm super happy, honestly. Um, well, thank you for the blueprint. Sorry. No, thank you for the blueprint. Really helped. Yeah. Yeah, man. Well, and now I don't have to write proposals anymore. Like before I used to write long proposals for clients just to be declined. Like now I haven't written a single proposal this year. I'm just pricing right from the call and accepted and the project starts. Are you closing on the calls? The projects are you [14:27] charging? All the projects that I closed this year were were straight from the calls. One call. Two calls. Uh yes, I only had two calls this year and they were all No, but I mean like you you close on the first call or you do a followup. Yeah. No, on the first call. Oh, that's amazing, man. That's amazing. Um, and so what would you tell someone who's considering [15:02] investing in the B club? So one thing I always like to tell myself is that if nothing changes like if you don't change anything then nothing will change. So like if you're like me in your freelance career in your journey where you feel like it's it's unstable where you don't know where you're going and you don't know like if you're going to have like a project in the future like if you you don't know if you're going to have a project next next month. So if you don't change anything then nothing will change. I think that's one of your mails in I don't know in one of your [15:49] newsletters. I say it. Yeah. Yeah. So that's I probably said that to you on the call on the call that that you enrolled in. Yeah. Exactly. So that's something that I really keep in mind that if you don't change anything then nothing would change. So if you're considering to join the bond club, I think you should. If you're feeling like you're not moving in your career or if you're feeling like you're stuck at a certain level, then uh I think you should and like me, if you're feeling like lost being alone or you or not having like a coach to tell you what you should do, what are the [16:33] things that are doing good or bad, then yeah, you definitely should join the bond club. Awesome. Awesome. Well, thank you so much, man, for um you know, jumping on this call, being a um being willing to share your your experience in the Bone Club. I know many people inside the Bone Club and outside um are going to be really inspired by your story. Uh and this is really just the beginning for you. It's the first year in the Bone Club. Um, I'm really looking forward to, you know, continue working with you, seeing how you, how your journey goes, and yeah, we'll be here to support you in in every [17:20] new milestone that you hit. Um, yeah, it was a pleasure, man. Thank you so much for for the time and see you inside. Bye. Thanks, too. Take care. Bye-bye.
