# how a dumb saas idea made $1,000,000 in a year Channel: Fomin Unscripted Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzxQXkBNKmU Duration: 5 min Language: English Words: 681 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/FzxQXkBNKmU --- [0:00] You want to know something funny? Some of the dumbest SaaS ideas actually make the most money and I'm not even kidding. This is my Stripe account and I've made millions of dollars building SaaS businesses and honestly, some of my most profitable products are so simple that you'd probably never even think of building them and I think that's something a lot of people get wrong about SaaS. They think they need to come up with some crazy idea that nobody's ever thought of before. Something with UI, a bunch of different features, some complicated technology, but that's not really how I look at it. I'll give you an example. Let's say someone needs a [0:49] document for a visa application. They go on Google, search for it, find a website, pay like 10 or 20 bucks, download the document, and leave. That's it. That's the entire business. Sounds pretty boring, right? But imagine thousands of people searching for that same thing every single month. And now imagine even a small percentage of those people paying you. That's a real business and the best part is you don't need to build some huge platform to make it work. You just need to solve that one problem. The simpler the product is, the easier it usually is to explain why someone should pay for it. Like if I [1:37] have to spend 5 minutes explaining what my SaaS actually does, that's probably not a great sign. But if I can explain it in one sentence and someone immediately gets it, that's what I like. And by the way, I share a lot of these simple SaaS ideas in my Telegram channel. I also show how I actually build them and get customers. It's completely free. The link is in the pinned comment if you want to check it out. But here's where it gets interesting. A lot of people completely ignored this kind of business cuz they don't sound exciting. Nobody really wants to tell their friends they're making money selling some random [2:19] documents online. They'd rather say they're building the next big AI startup. And I get it. It sounds way cooler, but personally I don't really care how cool my business sounds. I care if people are actually willing to pay for it. And that's a huge difference cuz at the end of the day you're not getting paid [2:45] for how complicated your software is. You're getting paid for solving someone's problem and sometimes that problem is incredibly simple like converting a file, generating a document, checking some information, or automating one annoying task. Stuff that might take a few hours to build, but if enough people need it, it can turn into pretty profitable business. Now, obviously not every simple idea is going to make money. You still need demand and [3:18] you still need a way to get customers. For me, it's usually organic traffic. I look for things people are already searching for on Google and YouTube. Then I build a simple product around that demand and make content showing people how to use it. And that's pretty much how I have grown a lot of my SaaS businesses without having to spend a ton of money on ads. And if you want to see how I find these opportunities and get traffic, I talk about all of that in my Telegram channel. Again, link in the pinned comment, but yeah, my point is stop trying to come up with the next [3:54] billion-dollar idea. You don't need to reinvent anything. Sometimes the best SaaS idea is something so simple that you almost feel stupid building it. But if people are already looking for it, they're willing to pay for it. Who cares? I'd rather have a boring SaaS making 30 grand a month than some crazy AI platform making absolutely nothing. And that's something I wish more people understood before they start building. Anyway, hope [4:23] this gave you something to think about. Let me know what you think in the comments and I'll see you in the next one. --- About this transcript Read from YouTube's own caption track and laid out by ViewRank AI (https://viewrankai.com).
