# How to Grow Your Newsletter Fast on beehiiv Channel: Spencer Scott Pugh Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ-W0oyNZtM Duration: 9 min Language: English (United States) Words: 1754 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/FZ-W0oyNZtM --- [0:00] I transferred my blog, my newsletter from Substack to beehiiv. Last video was all about making that jump and sort of why this video as promised in the last video, is about how I am going to be growing on beehive. I think there's a lot of incredible tools here, a lot of great opportunities, especially if you have a little dollar to spend on how you can grow your newsletter. If at any time during this video you want to check out beehiiv for yourself, check the link and the description and use Code Spencer 30 [0:26] for 30% off your first three months. So. Here's the last video, which was all about that. I put that video out. When was it? Two months ago to when I first pulled everyone over 376. It basically was how big my newsletter was and I just crossed 511. There's a few different ways of doing that. [0:45] One is, let's come over here, so be h really cool. 'cause they have all these integrated tools, which I think Substack specifically, some of them are there and especially sort of the network. That's there. But Substack is very much for writers, and I feel like beehiiv is more for creative businesses. Businesses in general, things like that. [1:05] So I'm finding a lot of value with beehiiv because I'm not a writer. Right? So if you come over here to the Grow Toggle here, next video, we're gonna do the monetize. Area of the menu. So recommendations is one that's pretty neat. So you can have these sort of like top four. Think of like MySpace in the past of other newsletters that you are recommending. So when someone goes to subscribe to my newsletter, they see these [1:28] other four and they can easily subscribe to them immediately. Workspaces is great. We get into that here in a second. Curated supply is awesome. H one gallery is actually used to be run by the guy who does workspaces. And then Andrew is a friend of mine and he hasn't even started his newsletter yet, but I've already referred him five subscribers, which is pretty cool. You can see how many I've referred, so when they do subscribe to me, they're [1:51] clicking to subscribe to them as well, so. You can do this and help others out, they can also do it and help you out. So I have nine other newsletters that are recommending me now. I haven't gained any subscribers from them and I honestly don't know any of these other newsletters except for Andrew Claire and like I said, he hasn't [2:09] really started his newsletter yet. This is a great way, if you know other people on beehive, you can also find other people on beehive. Reach out to them, ask if they would add you to their top four. The other one here. Is Boosts. So if you do have like a marketing budget, an advertising budget, I put in $200 into beehive and I basically created this ad, if you will, so you [2:33] can see, here's my target audience. I am going to agree to pay $2 per subscriber that you get for me. So when. IG Automation and cool deep AI and onto better things. When they go to release an email newsletter or they have their sort of blog embedded in their site, they can actually add my newsletter as an ad, and for every [2:57] person who subscribes, they get paid $2. Now what's cool is they don't just send fake accounts. Beehive has this really cool way of sort of vetting emails and email addresses. Are these people like, what's their, you know, are they opening emails, engaging with them from this person? You can pick and choose. People can apply. So look, applications, if I go here, this onto Better Things has applied [3:22] to basically take part in this. Ad that I've created, and what's cool is you can see like 25% India, 18% US 4% uk. You can see the size of their newsletter, their growth, engagement, boost quality. I can accept or reject this, and I had a bunch of people wanting to apply. A lot of them were like this, they're India. Market or their India section of the newsletter was [3:49] really high, like maybe 90%. So I rejected those because I'm looking for English speaking, you know, you know, say it's uk Basically the audience that I have on my YouTube channel, I'm trying to achieve that same audience in my newsletter. So these other two here, IG Automation and Cool Deep where. Mostly American, and you can see they have already basically pitched a bunch [4:11] of people towards my, my, my way. So total subscribers here, verified subscribers, that's the big thing. So beehive kind of vets out these email addresses and make sure they're actually like verified email addresses. People are actually using, and there's I think, two different means of that verification. There's like a more strict one, and the strict one takes longer. [4:34] So I won't actually have that subscriber for like a month or so. The other one is a little bit less strict, right? So I don't know all the ins and outs. To that. I'm sure you could find an FAQ of beehive of like what all that means. But it's nice that there's a vetting process and these guys [4:51] just aren't making $2 off of me by sending me faking addresses. Right? So that's a really great way. Like I said, if you have a marketing advertising budget, wanna put 200 bucks in a month and just grow your newsletter. Very quickly. Now, as always, I would recommend every so often sort of doing your own sort of vetting on your email list and sort of cutting away people who aren't [5:13] engaging, people who haven't opened an email an X, Y, Z number of time. But anyway, all that can be done through beehive, which I think is fantastic. The last thing I wanted to talk about was. I'll hit on these other two as well. Referral programs. So if you've ever been a part of like a bigger newsletter, like Morning Brew [5:30] for instance, at the very bottom of theirs, they have a referral program. So like you can set this up where you create rewards. Like if you were to send me five new subscribers, you would get a sticker. If you sent me 10, you would get a hat, 20. You get a T-shirt or a sweatshirt, right? So you can set up these tiered referral program rewards, which incentivizes [5:48] normal people without newsletters. To also be sort of pitching your newsletter around. So pretty self-explanatory there. That's not something I've done. I haven't really even put too much thought into that, and I think it might be something I do as we grow, as we continue to grow our newsletter. Maybe establishing that at some point. [6:05] The final thing is a magic link. From what I understand, anyone who has already logged into beehive, maybe they're subscribed to a different beehive account. If they were to click on this magic link, they would immediately be subscribed to my newsletter. One of the other things that I've been doing to get subscribers is when I create. Well, let's come over here and say, I'm going to edit [6:28] this post, little sneak peek. Got an upcoming post here. So if someone happens upon my blog newsletter and they're reading through an article when they get like 25% of the way down the page, there's a popup that basically says Deal, wanna subscribe. It's not like subscribe to keep reading kind of thing. I don't think, but it, it is just a way to en entice someone [6:48] who's like, oh, this is cool. Oh, I can subscribe. Like it's just a popup. So there's little things you can embed like that too. Magic links, all that kind of stuff, which is fantastic. Little tools that you have continues to work on and upgrade and update that just make it easy to grow in a real organic and or paid way. [7:06] The platform. So yeah, I've gone from, what did I say, 365 subscribers to 511, and there's still more in that sort of waiting period while it vets out those emails. I think I gained a hundred some emails, maybe it was. 200. That wouldn't make sense. A hundred emails from the Boost that I did. [7:27] I've really been enjoying this. I've also just really been enjoying working with the beehive like group to make these videos. This video is sponsored by beehive, so it's, you know, a huge shout out to them. It's been a lot of fun. The last thing I'll say is it, it sort of happened through Beehive. I know Ryan, who runs workspaces through Beehive, but I was actually [7:46] featured on his newsletter. Uh, which is right here. Shout out to Ryan and shout out workspaces. Go subscribe. I'll leave a link in the description. But his newsletter's all about just creative workspaces. This is literally the space that I'm sitting in right now. I mean, here's, there you go. So that's another idea. Even outside of beehive, just organic growth. Like finding other newsletters that you can maybe reach out to and say like, [8:08] Hey, I'll feature you in my newsletter. Would you do the same in yours? Or if both newsletters again are on beehive, you can put each other in the top four, which would be super helpful both ways as well. But that's gonna do it. For this video, again, special thanks to Beehive for sponsoring this video. As I mentioned at the beginning of this video, if you want to give beehive a try, check the link in in description, and use code Spencer 30 for 30% [8:31] off your first three months of bhi. Stick around, subscribe if you're new. Part three in the series is how I am making money already. Off of my newsletter here on Beehive, which it's very easy to get started doing that. So most of the time on this channel, we help you find intentionally designed and well-made products so that you can live comfortable, more focused life. [8:52] It sounds cool to you. Please subscribe. I'd like this for you for more. Watch this for you next.
