# Turn One-Time Clients into Monthly Revenue (Website Care Plans Explained) Channel: Seahawk Media Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTY0ptFPuUg Duration: 11 min Language: English Words: 1740 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/FTY0ptFPuUg --- [0:00] Hey, it stops here. If you're designing website for client, then this video is for you. Let me ask you something real quick. What happens after you finish a website for a client and then they pay you off? Exactly. Nothing. You move on, you hunt for the next project, and the income stops. And somehow, you're back at, "I need another client." That's exactly how amateur do web design business. Personally, I was in this mess for a few years of my web design [0:34] freelance business until I got the memo. And the crazy part is the website you just built, it needs update. It needs monitoring. It will break at some point. [screaming] And most agencies, they leave that money on the table, whether or not they are freelancing or they are operating as a full on agency. Some agencies are quietly making consistent monthly income from their same client, the existing client that they have, without selling more website, without hiring more staff, and without using expensive tool. And the wildest part is that you can even [1:16] start this without using expensive tool. And you have a system that run at the background. In this video, I'm not going to be talking so much about tools. I just want to talk about the plans. And in subsequent video, subsequent tutorials, I'm going to be showing you awesome tool in the WordPress ecosystem that can cater for your website care plan needs, right? So, if you're a web designer or an agency owner, and you're tired of the unpredictable cash flow, you are just great at building website, but you hate all this constantly chasing the next client kind of issue, then this video might be the most [1:55] important thing that you watch today. Because in the next few minutes, I'm going to show you how you can build website care plans that actually sells. How agencies use them to build recurring revenue, and how you can start doing the same, even if you're just starting out. All right. So, let's break this down real quick. A website care plan is basically you saying to your client, "Hey, I've got your back after the website is live." Because here is the truth. No one really says these things out loud. A website is not a one-and-done thing. Stuff break. Plugin [2:34] needs update. Security issues pop up. And when something goes wrong, guess who they call? You. So, instead of you fixing things for free, or maybe charging them something so inconsequential when things break, a care plan just turns this chaos into monthly income. Think of it like this. You already know the website. You built it. You already have the expertise. A care plan just puts structure and money around what you've already built, and what you may even still be eventually asked to do anyway. And here is why agencies love this. One website pays you once, 10 care plans pay you every single month. No chasing, no starting from zero [3:20] again, just predictable revenue stacking in quietly in the background. And that's extremely important because it's the life of the website design business. And that's why smart agencies don't stop at website delivered. That's where the real business starts. And next, I'll show you exactly what goes into care plans and what clients actually care about. And let me just hint you a little here. It's [3:45] not these technical jargons. Now, this is where a lot of agencies mess things up. They start listing things like core update, plugin compatibility, server level monitoring, and these are the things you see in your care plans. And the client is just sitting there like, "Cool, but what does this do for me?" Clients don't buy futures. They buy peace of mind. Now, you're asking, "What do they actually want?" What they want is simple. They don't want their website to break. They don't want to get hacked. They don't want random downtime. And they [4:19] definitely don't want surprise problems. So, a good care plan focuses on outcome and not just tech talk. Things like, "I'll keep your site updated so nothing randomly crashes. I'll monitor your site so if it goes down, I know before you do. I'll send you a monthly report so you know your site is healthy and is taken care of." That's it. That's what your client want to hear. But behind the scenes, that means update, monitoring, report. But to the client, it just feel like I don't have to worry about my website anymore. And once a client feels that way, paying monthly suddenly makes complete sense to them. So, as I said, [5:01] you should not add all those techy jargons into your care plans. You can save that for people that really love that. But for most of the client, they really don't care about all those stuff. So, you can put that on your website if you have a website where you're selling a website business, that's fine. But if you want to speak to a client about your care business, which I would advise that you do, you don't need to go all that technical jargon because they really don't care. Save those for the ones that are really, really, really meticulous about what you are offering and how you deliver your plans, but [5:37] just sell peace of mind to your client when you probably maybe be speaking with them on a call or sending an email to them. So, if they really, really do care about the jargon, point them to your website where you have all those jargons set up. All right. So, this part is extremely important because how you package this determines whether client says, "This [5:59] sounds interesting, or where do I sign?" First rule, never just sell one care plan. When you give people only one option, they either overthink it or say no. But when you give them choices, they choose. So, keep it simple. You might have a basic plan that covers the essentials like update, monitoring, monthly report. That's cool. And then you have something like the media plan where they get faster support or maybe small fixes included, which is good. And then finally, maybe a premium plan for clients who want hands off everything, from content that D to priority help to maybe performance and some SEO tweaks [6:39] here and there. Basically, everything you have to offer. And here is the key mindset shift. You are not charging for task. You are charging for convenience and for confidence. You need to put that confidence in your client that you can take care of their website for them. Most clients don't care how many plugins you update. They care that when something goes wrong, you're already on it. And that's it. And pricing? Don't undercharge. Just because you're using a tool that is charging you maybe $200 a month, or even something even way cheaper, or you're even starting using it for free, you are selling [7:15] reliability. You're selling trust. You're selling you never have to think about it again. That's what you're selling, and it's extremely important to businesses. And when care plans are packaged the right way, clients don't see them as extra cost, they see them as a smart option. That's when you're doing the business. And extremely important to us well. So, next, I'll show you how to sell these care plans naturally, without sounding very pushy or salesy. And that's where a lot of [7:45] people get it wrong, too, as well. Okay, now. So, let's get real. Selling care plans doesn't have to feel like you are twisting arms. In fact, the best way is not to sell them at all. Here is the trick. You are not selling futures. I've said that over and over in this video. You are offering peace of mind, and you [8:04] are helping your client avoid headaches. So, instead of saying stuff like, "I offer update, backups, and monitoring," say something like, "I'll handle all the tech stuff behind your site. You don't have to worry about it breaking or going offline. You just focus on your business." That makes sense? You can still say something like, "Every month, you get a simple health report showing your site is safe, secure, and running smoothly. You always know it's taken care of." Can you see the difference? One sounds very technical saying, "I'm going to do all this [8:39] update." This is confusing and salesy. And the other feels like giving a very solid advice, something your client actually wants. So, let me give you a pro tip here. Introduce care plans very early. Ideally, do it on boarding. Don't wait until the website is done. When you frame it as part of taking care of them, it feels like natural extension of your service. If you wait till when you're done with the website, it looks like [9:09] you're upselling. That's the difference. All right. So, now let's wrap this all before this video get long and boring. [laughter] [gasps] So, here is what I have talked about today in this video. Let's just do a quick recap here. Firstly, I talked about why one-and-done website are a trap and how care plans can turn your client into predictable and recurring revenue.
