# Starting a Solo AI Business Using The New X Subscription Channel: Paul J Lipsky Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3MEjYzc1OY Duration: 17 min Language: English Words: 3537 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/F3MEjYzc1OY --- [0:00] I just found one subscription that gives you access to Grock, Grockbot, Cursor, and X Premium all in one single subscription. It's called the X subscription. But this isn't just about getting a great deal on some of the best AI tools out there. It's more about how you now have one plan you can use as your entire AI productivity stack. One subscription that gives you some of the best tools to think, research, create, and publish. That makes it perfect for anyone who wants the best AI tools, knowledge workers who don't want to pay for a bunch of different subscriptions, or as you're going to see in a minute, [0:35] anyone who's looking to start their own business or solo venture. In this video, I'm going to show you everything you get with the X subscription, and then we'll actually build a business together. That way, you can see how all these tools work together and how you can get the most out of this new all-in-one subscription. But before we move ahead, I want to let you know that this video is sponsored by SpaceX. So, let's actually take a look at the X [0:57] subscription and what's included. Previously, X Premium, Grock, Grockbot, and Cursor all came in separate plans. Now, that's all being rolled into one. You get access to all four of those tools with one subscription, and there are a few different tiers to choose from. There's free, plus, premium, super, and ultra. Prices can vary based on where you live, though, so check the pricing page linked down below for yours. The plus tier gets you the X premium check mark and creator tools and [1:25] Grock chat and cursors coding agents. But if you want access to Grockbot and video generation, then you'll need at least the premium tier. That's also going to give you four times the usage of plus. Super and ultra though are more for people who are in these tools all day with 15 to 50 times the usage of plus. For most people though, I think the sweet spot here is premium. It gives you access to all the main features and [1:49] it's going to give you a lot of usage. With premium, you can use Grock for AI chat. It's really good at reasoning through problems and it can search the web and X in real time. If you need images or videos, you can use Grock imagine to do that. And if you need to code something, you can use cursor, which is an AI coding agent. It's gotten so good now that you can just describe the software you want and it writes and builds it for you. You also get the blue check mark on X because it includes X premium and that comes with creator tools to help you build an audience. And [2:18] of course, you get access to Grockbot, which is an always on team of assistants called bots. Each bot has their own computer and their own browser, so they can automate a ton of work for you. It's what I consider to be the most powerful AI assistant available right now. And what's great about this new single plan is that all of your usage is one shared pool across all the tools I just described. So, whatever you don't use in one tool, you can use in another. Your allowance refreshes every week and [2:44] different tools use up different rates. Though a video in Grock imagine won't cost the same as a quick question in Grock chat. There's one catch though. If you code in cursor, third-party models are still available on premium and higher, but you pay for those separately at list price. The shared pool covers Grock's own models. And if you already pay for X premium, Super Grock, or Cursor, nothing's changing for you. You can stay on your current plan if you want to, or you can switch over to the new X subscription. The mistake here would be treating each of these as its own isolated tool. They're really one [3:18] stack. You can start at the top with Grock Chat and work your way through each one of these as you build something. And that's actually what we're going to do for the rest of this video. We're going to use all of these tools to start a small business around an app. To find our business idea, we're going to start by searching X for things that people are complaining about because it's honestly one of the best places to do that. Every day people post about things that annoy them to tasks that take way too long and the apps they wish existed. Grock can search X in real [3:48] time. So instead of scrolling for hours, we can have it do the digging for us. So here on Grock, I'm going to ask it to search through recent posts on X for everyday problems people are complaining about that a simple app could solve. Focus on problems regular people have at home or at work, not developer tools. and give me the most common pain points with example posts and links and know how often each one comes up. Now, right here, I can select between auto, fast, expert, build, or heavy. I'm going to leave this on auto. That's going to choose between fast or expert. It's going to choose which model or or which [4:25] version of this model is best for this particular task. But, as you see right here, all of them are powered by Grock 4.7. So, I'll send that along now and we'll give it a second and see what it comes up with. And 40 seconds later, here are the results. All these pulled from recent exposts. And this is why I love using Grock because X is where news breaks. X is where ideas are shared. So, if you use the best tool for accessing that information, it gives you a real good insight into the market that you're going into. So, let's look at what it came up with. So, one of the first [4:58] things that I identified is that a lot of people complain about hard to cancel subscriptions and surprise renewals, and that happens quite frequently. There's a link right here. I can click on this. This brings me over to a post on X where someone was complaining about this. Let's take a look at some other ideas, though. This one right here looks pretty interesting. It says, "Shared household chores and grocery lists that never stay in sync." And this is something else that a lot of people will complain about. You can see a quote here from someone who complained about it. And I can even open up that tweet to see what [5:28] they said. The third problem is deciding what's for dinner and meal planning and reducing food waste. We also have problems like the mental load of remembering all the adulting tasks and coordinating family activities. Before we pick one, I want to make sure these could actually work as a business. So, let's take one or two of these problems and dig into them a little bit more. So, the ones that jump out to me are the one about remembering all the adulting tasks and the shared household chores. So, I'm going to ask Rock if those two would make a good web app and how they could potentially make money. I'll say I'm [6:04] looking specifically at numbers two and four. Okay, so here's what it says. It says that for both of these, a web app would definitely work and it is possible to make money with these. The recommended way is to start with a free tier and then to eventually charge for a more premium plan if people want as an option for like additional features. And there are some secondary revenue options like affiliate or referral fees, maybe some ads, different templates, things like that. So bottom line is it would work. There may be some competition, but it is worth checking out. So, let's dig into this a little bit more. I really [6:41] like this idea. I want to kind of get rolling with this. So, I'm going to tell Grock that I think I'm narrowing it down now to that adulting app. I wanted to put together some ideas for a simple app that we could build and launch to solve some of these pain points. Tell me who the app would be for, what the app would do, and how we could potentially make money with it, and then write a short plan for the first version. That includes things like the main screens, the feature it needs on day one, and the features that can wait. And I'll add a little bit more here. I'll tell it. I [7:07] wanted to focus on those things that we have to remember as an adult. Changing filters, rotating tires, cleaning lint traps. It would be great if the app starts with an interview about what the user owns. So, it can set that up. And for this now, I'm going to switch from auto to expert. All these models are again powered by Grock 4.7, which is their most capable model yet for coding and knowledge work. And it's built to work longer on hard problems and to check its own work. An expert gives it more time to really think things through before it answers. And that's exactly what you want for brainstorming sessions [7:41] like this or when building a plan like this because we're asking it to weigh a bunch of ideas against each other and figure out which one is actually and how this should actually be built out. So with expert selected, I will send that along. Okay, here's our plan now for the app. I'll just ask for a few more details like can you come up with a name for the app and also create for me a style guide for what the app should look like in terms of font and colors to use use and overall style of it. So here are some name recommendations. I really like [8:14] upkeep. That was its recommendation. I might just make a small change to that though and call it adult upkeep. And then we have the style guide here. So I'll tell it let's call it adult upkeep. And also, I like all that style guide. So, let's roll all of that up into the plan and send me the updated plan. Now that we have an idea and a plan put together, I want to see what this app could actually look like before we build anything. And for that, I'm going to use Grock imagine to create a mockup of this app and to create the visual assets that are going to be needed. So, what I'll do [8:45] is come back over to Gro Chat and just copy down this plan. And then come over to imagine and I'll tell it create a mockup for the web app below. show the main screen from this plan and then I'll just paste in that plan. Down here are the settings. I'll leave this on image. I'll also leave it on quality and I'll have it create for me two images that I can choose between. As for the aspect ratio, because this is a web app and this is just like a mockup of it, doesn't matter too much, but I'll leave it on widescreen and then we'll see what [9:13] images it comes up with for us. All right, so here is the design that I settled on. And I think it looks very clean and fresh. And I actually don't have any changes that I want to make to this. But I do want to also pull out this logo so we can have that as a separate image. So I'll just tell Grock down here, can you just create an image of the logo now? Perfect. So now we have the logo, we have what we want the UI to look like, and I think we're ready to actually build this out now. Now it's time to build the app itself. And for [9:44] that we're going to use cursor. If you're not familiar with it, cursor is an AI coding agent. So instead of writing the code ourselves, which I admittedly can't do, we're going to vibe code. This means we'll just describe what we want in plain English and cursor will build it for us. And since it's part of the same subscription, it's pulling from the same pool of usage we've been using this whole time. We're going to build this as a web app. So it works right in the browser on your phone or on your computer and nobody has to download anything to try it. If it works out nicely, we can always have cursor [10:15] build us an Android or iPhone app in the future. So, we'll have Cursor start by building a simple landing page that explains what the app does with the app itself just one click away. So, first thing I'll do is paste in that plan that we got from Gro Chat. Then, I'll use the dictate button to kind of describe what I'm looking for here. Build the first version of this app as a web app that works well on a phone. Use the attach design as a guide. You can also find the logo on the top left hand corner of the image. Keep it simple and friendly for [10:47] the first version of it and especially for people who aren't very technical. Start with the main screen and the day one features from the plan. Put a one-page landing page in front of it that explains the problem it solves and show the main features and has a clear button to try the app. And now we'll just let it build. All right, cursor is finished. And this is the landing page for the new app, Adult Upkeep. The small home jobs remembered furnace filters, dryer vents, tire rotations, smoke alarms. Adult upkeep asks what you actually have that keeps a short shared list so those jobs don't live in just [11:23] one person's head. You see a little preview of what it looks like right here. And then some more sort of like sales copy as we come down the page. Here it is. Free. You get up to 12 active tasks for two people and inapp reminders. Then over here we have $6 a month if you want the premium. So let's try it out. I'll click on set up my home [11:42] and I'll enter in my name and email. What kind of place do you live in? I live in a house and I own it. How do you heat and cool a place? So we have a furnace and we have central AC. Now it's asking what kind of appliances we have. So we have a tank heater, we have a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, refrigerator, garbage disposal, and that's it. And then on the outside of my house, I have gutters. We have a lawn I take care of. And as I'm going through this, I'm already thinking about all the [12:11] things I haven't been staying on top of. How many vehicles? We have two vehicles. And we have smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, of course, and fire extinguishers. All right. So, here's the starter list. And if I don't want any of these for some reason, I can uncheck these. But I'm going to go with the default ones here. I think they all look pretty important. Although I might start hiring someone to do my lawn for me because just don't have the time anymore. That all looks good. And I'll create my list. Oh, 13. I'm on the free plan. All right. So, I will turn one of these off like look under the sync for [12:43] leaks. All right. So, here's all of them. It has the due dates for them. It shows which ones are due soon. If any are overdue, they'll show up right here. And then as they become due, you'll get a reminder right here. And what's cool, you can invite other people into your household so that they can be on this list as well and see what needs to be done. Now, returning back to Cursor, you [13:03] can see everything it did right here. And what's really cool about this is that all this ran in the cloud, so I didn't need to have my computer on for this. It actually has its own computer where it built this app and tested it out. And you can see the test right here. It took screenshots of the app to make sure everything looked great. These are actually nice looking screenshots. I [13:22] could use these in some of the promos. And it even tested it on mobile. We also have a little video it took. So, it did a screen recording again to make sure that it works. It's actually clicking through and testing the app to make sure that everything works before it delivers it to us. And this is for for testing purposes, but honestly, it's a really good demo video that again I could use in a lot of promos. So, that looks great. I think it's ready to be deployed onto its own website and then we can go ahead and launch it. The best place to promote things these days is on X. But [13:54] to help our post stand out, I'm going to use imagine to come up with the images for the post. So I uploaded that image of the UI on the phone and I'm telling it to create an eyecatching image for an expost announcing adult upkeep. I explain what the app does and I want it to be shown on a phone. And then for the aspect ratio, I'll choose 9 by6. And there we go. That's perfect. And now I can come back over to Gro Chat and I'll tell it to write a short X post announcing the new app that I just [14:27] created, Adult Upkeep. And there we go. Now we have the post, we have the image, and now we can post all this on X. And because this plan includes the X premium features, too, like the blue check mark and creator tools, the account we're posting from will have all of that as well. Now that our app is launched, what we don't want is we don't want to create more work for ourselves. So, if people reply with questions or they find bugs or ask for new features, we're going to [14:52] have Grobbot handle all of that for us. Since every bot has its own computer in the cloud, they can keep an eye on X for us every day, even when my laptop is closed. So, I'm setting up a new bot for that. His name is Max. And whenever I set up a new bot, I just like to use this dictation tool to just kind of brain dump the ideas for what I want to use it for. Okay, Max, your job will be to help me manage a new app I just launched called Adult Upkeep. The app is going to help adults stay on top of all [15:25] those little tasks that like we never learned how to do in school, like keeping up with tire rotations, changing out the filters in our house, like the ones in our fridge and in the furnace, cleaning out the lint traps, different things like that. So, I've already set up this app. I've already launched it on X and I just want you to stay on top of it. When people have questions, make sure to respond to them. If anything needs my attention, bring it to my attention and if there are any bugs in the app, I want you send those over to Cursor and then we can keep improving [15:56] the app from there. And what's great about setting up bots like this is that this will now just run. I don't have to worry about it anymore. This has been outsourced to Max and it's been completely taken off of my plate. So, we found a real problem on X, designed an app around it on Grock imagine, built it on Cursor and launched it on X and used [16:16] Grockbot to set up a bot to help run it. And that all came out of the X subscription. You don't need to juggle a bunch of different subscriptions because everything comes together in one place. And I did all that and still had plenty of usage left over. If you want to try the X subscription, it's linked at the top of the description.
