# How to Sell Digital Products Online (Beginner Blueprint) Channel: Richard Yu Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKjcU4EBnuc Duration: 13 min Language: English Words: 2888 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/EKjcU4EBnuc --- [0:00] This is for you. If you've watched 100 make money online videos and you still haven't made a single dollar online. In this video, I'm going to show you everything you need to know to start selling digital products online. Even if you're a complete beginner starting from zero. And here's the part that trips up most beginners. You shouldn't start by creating your own digital product. You see, the fastest way to your first sale is to sell digital products that already exist made by other people and then just simply taking a cut every time one sells. And by the end of this video, you'll know what a digital product [0:30] actually is, where the real money really comes from, and the exact [music] four-step system that beginners are using to make their first sales online in as little as the next 72 hours. Plus, the simple mistakes that keep most people stuck at zero. And listen, I'm not going to sell you some overnight rich nonsense. This takes work. Eight years ago, I was folding burritos at a fast food [music] restaurant for minimum wage, drowning in student debt. And I remember checking my bank balance before I'd even let myself buy gas, doing the math in the parking lot so that my debit card wouldn't decline. Today, I run multiple seven- and eight-figure [1:01] businesses. One of the biggest digital product marketplaces in the world flew me out to their headquarters in NYC because I [music] won their competition for the highest volume of digital product sales. I've even been featured in New York Times Square and invited to TEDx for helping thousands of people [music] start their own digital product businesses. Here's the part that matters for you. You don't need to be an expert, you do not need a following, and you definitely [music] do not need a product of your own if you don't want one. So, give me the next few minutes and I'll hand you the entire [music] four-step system. But first, what even is a [1:32] digital product? Well, it's anything that teaches something or solves a problem and gets delivered online. It could be an ebook, an online course, a template, a guide, a paid community, an AI software or an app. Someone buys a resume template, downloads it, swaps in their name and their job history, and they start using it. And that's what they use to land their next job. Nobody shipped anything, it just appeared instantly in their email inbox the moment that they purchased it. That is what a digital product is. And it's the best business, hands down, on the internet for four reasons that actually matter. First, you make it one time and [2:05] it sells forever. You don't need a factory or some warehouse to manufacture thousands of units of the product. Secondly, the buyer gets the product instantly, which means that you can earn while you're asleep or at the gym or doing whatever you want to do. And you keep 80 to 90 cents on every dollar [2:20] because the profit margins are so high. Remember, there's no cost of shipping and there's no cost of goods. And your market is anyone on Earth with a Wi-Fi connection because there's no inventory, there's no overhead, [music] and your phone or laptop with an internet connection is basically the entire business. I'll never forget the day that became real for me. I put together a simple little digital product that was teaching college students how to be more productive. This is back when I was a student at UCLA. I went to sleep and the moment the next day I woke up, I remember seeing the first notification of a complete stranger on the other side [2:50] of the world buying that digital [music] product. Money that I'd made, quite literally, while I was unconscious sleeping. And it just clicked [music] that if one stranger could pay me for a digital product sale, why not a hundred? Why not a thousand? And that was the whole game right there. And the timing right now is almost unfair in your advantage. [music] Online learning is already a $300 billion market growing more than 20% year on year, meaning you're just going to have more opportunity, not because you got better, but just because more people want to buy digital products. And AI just collapsed the entire work. What used to take a [3:21] team of 10 people and months of hard work, writing, editing, designing, and we can now do from your couch in an afternoon. And most people in this space still have not caught up yet. [music] Now, here's the part that nobody tells beginners. You do not have to create a digital product to sell a digital product. You see, the smartest move that a beginner can make is to sell digital products that already exist. There's actually a name for it. It's called [music] digital product arbitrage. Now, don't let that word scare you. Arbitrage is just a fancy word for saying [music] sitting in the middle of a sale and [3:52] taking a cut. You're not the creator of the product and you're also not the customer buying it. You're simply the connector. Uber connects riders with drivers and Uber doesn't own a single car themselves. You're going to simply connect people who have a problem with a product that already solves it and you get paid every single time someone buys. In getting people to see you, well, that [4:11] used to be really hard. Not anymore. Free apps like Instagram now decides who sees your video based on how good the video is, not how many followers you have. And they actually favor brand new Instagram accounts in order to encourage more creators to come onto the platform. Meaning if you post one good 11-second video today with zero followers, you do it the right way, which I'll show you how to do, the app can quite literally hand you thousands of qualified customers for completely free, which means you don't spend any money on ads, [4:39] you don't have to hire any influencer. So, basically, attention is handed to you for free, which means the whole game comes down to this. [music] Pick the right product, and no, you do not have to make your own if you don't want to, and then simply point that free attention on a social media platform at that product. So, here is the four-step system. Step one, find products that are already selling. There are online marketplaces like Digistore24, ClickBank, Wapp, Amazon Store, where thousands of creators, they list their digital products on there and they offer to pay you a generous cut or commission for sending them that buyer. Just a [5:11] simple percentage of each sale that lands in your pocket. And here, those commissions are big, anywhere from 30% all the way up to 90% commissions. Step two, pick products that you actually believe in. This is where beginners completely blow it. They promote garbage just because it pays a generous commission. Don't do that. Here's a free research trick. Go read the reviews on [5:32] the products that are already selling. Notice what buyers rave about, what they're really happy about, and what they complain about. And to be honest, every product has complaints. So, learn [music] about them. That tells you exactly what people want before you spend a single minute promoting anything. Step three, use AI to make the content that points people to that product. And the key here is you do not [5:50] want to invent anything from scratch. You want to find short simple videos that are already going viral on that topic, and then you make your own version. Open up a free AI tool, tell it your topic and the problem that you're solving for, and it will hand you a 15-second script better than most professional writers ever could. And then, you film it on your phone or use AI to create that video in less than a few minutes. If you don't want to show your face, you don't have to. For example, there's a completely AI account made over $400,000 in 6 months doing exactly this. Just AI videos. And step [6:20] four, post consistently and let the algorithm do the distribution, meaning generation of views for you. Now, here's exactly how a random viewer turns into a paying customer. You post your 11-15 second video, and inside of it you actually give them something useful. You give them a real tip that they can use today. And then at the end, you offer them a freebie, something that's free and valuable. It can be a checklist, a mini guide, a three-page PDF, and you tell them to comment one specific word to get it. Something like, "Comment the word guide and I'll send it over to you." They comment that keyword, and [6:51] that's [music] your signal. You send them a message in their DMs, and for the most part you can actually automate this with the tool like ManyChat. And inside of the direct message is when you're talking to them one-on-one, you can automatically send them the freebie just as you promised. And just like that, now [7:05] you're in a real official conversation. You're simply talking to them as a normal person, answering their questions, figuring out what exactly they're actually stuck on. And once you understand what they need, you point them to the product that solves it. And not everyone buys, but the ones that do, you get paid generously. And you never had to make that product yourself. You never handled the customer service, the delivery, or the refunds, because the creator does all of that. All you did was give some value, start a conversation, and point someone to the right answer. Now, before we talk numbers, let me save you from the three [7:36] biggest mistakes that keep most beginners completely stuck at zero. Mistake number one, trying to build your own digital product before you've ever made a single sale online. Listen, if you really want to, you can, but you don't need to and it will stall you for months. Get paid promoting what already exists first. Learn the skillset of sales and marketing and then you can build your own later any other time once you actually understand how to sell digital products. Mistake number two, chasing the biggest commission check [8:01] instead of choosing the best product. You can point people towards a garbage product that sure might generate high commissions, but they won't buy. And the ones who do will just end up refunding because they don't like the products. Only promote things that you genuinely would recommend to a friend or use yourself. And mistake number three, and this is the one that almost gets everybody. Posting for a week, seeing [8:19] nothing happen, and then just giving up. Listen, the algorithm rewards consistency. Most people give up just three days before it would have clicked for them and they make their first sale. Don't be most people. Okay, now the math. Because each sale is small, but it stacks fast. And by the way, morally and ethically, this is just an illustration, not a guarantee, because at the end of the day, if you do nothing with this information, nothing will happen. So again, this is for illustrative purposes only. Let's say that you promote a $147 product that pays 60% commission. That's about $88 in your pocket every single time someone buys. You post one video, [8:50] it does 8,400 views, which remembers is free. And just 2% of those people tap your link, that's 168 people. And three of them buy, that's $264 from one video that took you 10 minutes to make. Now, your real numbers will bounce all over the place. Some videos will flop, some will blow up way past that, but even at a fraction of these numbers, the math [music] still works in your favor. So, post a video at a second product and then a third. But important, don't add any additional products until you at least generate $5,000 a month from your first product. And that's how the small sales quietly turn into a few [9:25] thousand and eventually 10,000 a month and beyond. So, what does a realistic timeline look like? I'll be honest with you because I refuse to insult you with millionaire by Friday fantasies. Month one to two, you're learning, testing, and finding your own rhythm. The only goal is not just making your first sale, it's learning the skills because skills precede sales. Most people who stay consistent can get there in a couple of [9:46] weeks. For others, it may take longer. Month three to four, you've now found a product that converts and you're posting at least once per day. The goal is 1 to 3,000 a month in profit consistently. By month six, you've now added a few products. You're generating thousands of views. The goal here is 5 to 10,000 a month. And by month 12, you've got [10:04] systems. Maybe even a little help. Several products running and you also have a small audience that's been building up until this point. The goal now is to get to 20,000 a month and beyond. Now, I want to be clear, these are not guarantees. This is just what I've seen happen to top students of mine as well as myself when we actually put in the work. And the ones [music] who get there put in real consistent effort in order to make it happen. Because the gap between 1,000 a month and 10,000 a month, it really isn't talent and it's not luck. It's just consistency. You post daily. You test constantly. [music] [10:33] You reinvest what you make into your education and into skills. Now, I know exactly what some of you are thinking. This sounds way too good to be true. Listen, I get it. But, can I be honest? You're not betting on some untested fad. Online education has been around over 20 years. I personally made over 30 million [10:49] dollars online selling digital products. Getting paid to refer customers has been around for over 30 years. The only thing that's new is we're using cutting-edge AI to make it faster and cheaper to get this done. Well, won't this get saturated? Listen, it's a 300 billion dollar market growing more than 20% a year. If 100,000 people each made a million dollars, that still would not be 1% of this market. We are nowhere close to reaching saturation. Well, I don't have any expertise. Listen, you don't [11:15] need any. You're not the teacher. Remember, the product creator is the expert. You're not the product creator. Your only job is to get attention and point it in the right direction. Well, I don't have any money to start. Then start with zero. Film on the phone that you're holding in your hand. Use free AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude. It costs you nothing to promote a digital product. Make your money first, reinvest later. And how high can this actually go? Well, I've personally taken this to multiple eight figures. That's not a promise to you, that's just the proof that the ceiling is a lot higher than [11:43] most people think. I'm obviously super atypical. I work really hard for these results and I've been doing this for over seven years. But here's what's true for everyone watching though. 12 months from now, one of two things is going to be real for you. Either you'll be exactly where you are today, [music] still watching videos like this one, still waiting for the perfect moment that really never comes, or you'll be the connector, quietly pointing free attention at products that already sell, with a simple business running off of your phone, making a few extra thousand every single month, maybe a lot more than that, on your own schedule, from [12:15] quite literally anywhere you want. And let me be straight about the timing. [music] Right now is quite literally the easiest time this will ever be. Free reach and views is high. Commission rates are an all-time high right now. But that window does not stay open forever. Platforms change, competition piles in, and paled the titan. The people who move now are the ones who lock in the edge. So, here's your next step. Do not try to stitch all of this together from one video. I've built together a full step-by-step masterclass training that walks you through the entire system from start to finish, from zero to your first 10,000 a month, and [12:47] how people have scaled significantly past that. It's completely free and again, it's the first link in the below. So, go ahead, watch that video, cuz that's the actual path. Because online education has quietly created more everyday millionaires than almost any [music] other opportunity online. And with AI, it's easier to grab a piece of it than it has ever been. The only real question left is whether you'll be one of them. So, go ahead and tap right here and I'll see you on the training [13:11] starting soon. --- About this transcript Read from YouTube's own caption track and laid out by ViewRank AI (https://viewrankai.com).
