# How I'd Start a One-Person AI Business in 2026 (No Coding Required) Channel: Adam Erhart Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJX8EgyHwEM Duration: 13 min Language: English Words: 2774 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/AJX8EgyHwEM --- [0:00] If you want to start one of these one-person AI businesses that everybody's talking about right now, there's a much easier way to do it than what most of those videos are teaching. And it doesn't involve building an app or writing code or launching yet another AI product into a market that's already drowning in AI slop. Because here's the part that nobody likes to admit. The people making real money with AI right now aren't the ones building it. They're taking solutions that already exist, installing them for businesses, and getting paid for the result. And this isn't just my opinion. Earlier this year, a team of economists at the US [0:31] Census Bureau surveyed businesses across the country and found that only 18% of them are using AI anywhere in their business. And almost all of that is happening inside big companies. The small local businesses on the other hand, the dentist, the plumber, the med spa down the street, most of them are still running things like it's 1999. And they're the ones that are getting left behind. Which means the biggest opportunity right now isn't building one more AI tool and then hoping somebody wants it. It's helping businesses around you use tools that already exist and then getting paid every single month to keep them running. Now, I get why [1:04] building something new is tempting because I've made that mistake myself. When I first got started, I thought the complicated version of this business was the only way to succeed. So, I built the big team and took on all the big monthly bills and expenses that came with it and kept chasing a shiny new offer every few months. But all that ever got me was [1:23] more stress and less money. Which isn't a very good trade. Since then, I've built three seven-figure agencies, worked with over 1,500 small businesses, and run thousands of campaigns. And today, I do it all as a one-person agency with zero employees. So, this isn't something that I just read about somewhere. This is what I actually do every single day. And by the end of this video, you'll know exactly what to offer, who to offer it to, what to say to get their attention, and how to turn it into a service that local businesses will happily pay you $397 a month for. Even if you're not technical, don't have an audience, and hate [1:55] selling. So, let's start with why the building path is such a bad trap to fall into. When you build something with AI, an app, a tool, some piece of software, you're signing up for a very specific kind of life. The kind of life where first, you have to create the product and learn the technical side, or you've got to pay somebody who does. Then, you got to go out there and find hundreds or thousands of users, one at a time, in a market where venture-backed funded companies with entire marketing teams are fighting for that exact same attention. And then, even if it all works, guess what? Now you get to update [2:28] it and support it and fix it, forever. Now compare that with the other option. When you install AI, the product already exists. Somebody else built it. Somebody else maintains it. Somebody else keeps it working. Your entire job is to find one business that's already losing money because of a problem that AI can easily solve, then install the already built AI system that solves it, and then charge a monthly fee to keep it running. It's the same reason that electricians make great money without ever manufacturing a single wire, or how a plumber gets paid to install a sink or fix a toilet. I mean, nobody hires a plumber because he [3:02] invented some disruptive new sink technology. They hire him because the old sink is spraying water all over the kitchen, and they need it fixed. Now here's where I want to pause for a second, because maybe you're not running an agency, and maybe you don't plan on starting one. Maybe you're just looking for a real way to build income online, and you've watched a hundred other [3:20] videos that never actually panned out. If that's you, you're exactly who this is for. Because this isn't about being technical, and it's not about having some massive following. You just need one useful service, a simple system to deliver it, and a business that's willing to pay for the result. And that's exactly what I'm going to show you. If I were using AI to solve one problem for small businesses today, it would be missed phone calls. Now, one [3:43] quick note before we get into it. Helping businesses get more Google reviews is still the easiest first service overall, so that's the one that I usually start people with. But, if you specifically want your first offer to be AI related, missed calls are the problem that I'd solve. Because here's the deal. When you call a small business, a plumber, a dentist, a landscaper, a lot of the time, nobody picks up. And I don't mean occasionally. You see, a company called 411 Locals actually tested this. They called small businesses across 58 different industries during normal business hours, and only about four out of 10 calls got answered by a real person. Everything [4:18] else went to voicemail or just rang and rang. That's where the stat that you've probably heard people quote, well, that's where it comes from. How small businesses miss 62% of their calls. But wait, it gets worse. Because around 85% of people who hit voicemail never call back. They just move on and call the next business on the list. Now, I don't know about you, but I'm definitely in that 85% group of people. I've left way too many voicemails in my time to sit around waiting for somebody to hopefully [4:45] check and then hopefully call me back. Now, think about what that behavior actually means for the business owner. If a plumber misses a call about a water heater replacement, for example, that's not just a missed phone call. That's a $1,500 job that just went to their competitor instead. All because their competitor's the one that picked up the phone. And all of this isn't the business owner's fault. I mean, they're under a sink somewhere or up a ladder or standing in front of a customer. They physically can't answer the phone. But, customer doesn't care. They've got a problem and they want to fix it right now. So, this is exactly where you come [5:16] in. Because there's a tool for this called an AI receptionist. Which is really just a fancy name for a piece of software that automatically answers the business's phone, does it with a natural sounding voice, has a real conversation with the customer, answers common questions, it can book appointments directly onto the calendar, and it takes down the caller's information. The real benefit though, is that these AI receptionists pick up the phone on the very first ring, every single time, 24 hours a day. So, the owner never misses another customer. And here's the part that makes this an easy yes for the business owner. You don't have to [5:50] replace anybody on their team. You can set the AI receptionist to answer every call that comes in automatically, or you can select use as a backup. So, they or their team can keep on answering the calls whenever they're able to, and then the AI just steps in and catches the calls that they physically can't answer. Like the ones that come in after hours, on weekends, on holidays, or during lunch breaks, or when somebody's out on a job. Because those are the calls that were going no matter what, which means you're not taking anybody's job. All you're doing is catching the money the business was already losing. And [6:23] remember that US Census Bureau study that I mentioned at the start of the video, the one that found that only 18% of businesses are using AI and almost all of them were the big companies? Well, the AI already exists. It already works. And the big companies are already using it. The small businesses just don't know that it's out there yet. And you're simply the person who connects them with it. Now, here's the deal. This has become a really popular topic lately. And there's a lot of good [6:46] content and good info out there on it. The problem is most of the videos hyping the stuff up explain the opportunity really well, but then they kind of half-ass the only part that actually matters, which is how you actually get a business to say yes and to pay you. So, that's exactly the part that I'm going to give you now. So, the whole business start to finish looks like this. First, you find a local business that's missing calls. And the test is as simple as calling a few of them during the day or after hours, like after 5:00 p.m. or during lunch, the exact times that [7:16] nobody's at the desk. And then, seeing which calls get picked up and which ones just ring out or go to voicemail. Second, you share the results of what happened when you called them with the business owner. You [snorts] share the fact that you called and nobody picked up. You talk about how hardly anybody leaves a voicemail anymore and that around 85% of callers just move on and call the next business on the list. So, missed calls mean missed jobs. Third, you install the AI receptionist for I do this inside a software called HighLevel, which is the same software I [7:46] use to run my entire one-person agency. More on that in just a minute. And fourth, you collect $397 a month while the AI receptionist answers, books, and follows up, all while the business owner is doing more important things like working with customers. So, once you found a business that's missing calls, the next step is reaching out. And the best part is, you can do all of this in writing. No cold calls required. You can send your message as an email or as a DM or even through the contact form on their website if you can't find an email. You could even call them if you [8:16] really wanted to, but email works great. Use the subject line "Quick question" and if you can find the owner's first name, put it in front like, "Hey Mike, quick question." Then, here's the message you send them, word for word. You might want to screenshot this or write it down. "Hey Mike, I was looking for an electrician in Tucson and gave your shop a call on Tuesday around lunchtime and it went straight to voicemail. Totally get it, you were probably out on a job, but here's the thing. Most people who hit a voicemail these days don't call back. They just call the next company on the list. I [8:45] recorded a short video showing an easy way to catch these missed calls without hiring anybody. Would it be all right if I sent it over?" Now, obviously, you swap in their actual business type, their city, and whatever actually happened when you called, and only use the name Mike if their name is actually Mike, but the structure stays the same. You want to tell them what you noticed, why it matters, and include that free, no-pressure offer to show them. That's it. There's no pitch, there's no pressure, no selling. Now, you might be wondering, "All right, Adam, if it's so easy, why wouldn't the business owner just set this up themselves?" Well, it's [9:17] the same reason that they don't build their own website or do their own bookkeeping. I mean, they could, technically, but they're running a business all day. And remember, fewer than one in five of the smallest businesses are using AI at all. Most of them don't even know these tools exist, let alone how to set one up and how to test it and how to keep it running month after month. That gap is the entire reason that this business model works so well. So, how does the money side of this actually work? Well, the business pays you $397 a month and on your side everything runs inside HighLevel. One [9:46] flat plan covers unlimited clients plus a small add-on that gives each client unlimited AI, which means your very first client basically pays for all of your software, which just so happens to be my favorite kind of software bill, somebody else's. And every client after that adds roughly $300 a month straight to you. But, here's the best part. You build the system one time or you can just copy and paste my exact system, which I'll show you how to get for free in just a minute, but then you can sell that to as many businesses as you want, which makes this almost infinitely scalable. Now, real quick here, if you [10:18] want to set up one of these AI receptionists and offer it yourself, here's the fastest way to get started. I've got a link in the description below this video where you can grab an extended 30-day free trial of HighLevel, which, as I mentioned, is the software I use to run my entire one-person agency and the operating system behind this AI receptionist. And when you start through my link, you'll also unlock my complete agency OS, which has over $10,000 in pre-built funnels and follow-up automations, client outreach scripts, and sales scripts, and a 90-day launch roadmap, all installed into your account with one click. There's private community access as well and a whole lot [10:51] more, including the exact AI receptionist that I'm talking about in this video, and the link's in the description below. Quick tip for when you're signing up, you'll see a few different plan options and I'd just go with the $297 unlimited plan. That's the one that gives you unlimited client accounts, which is everything you need to run what I've been showing you. You don't need the $497 plan, the $297 plan is more than enough. And just so it's clear, you get full access to my agency OS and all of the bonuses that come with it, no matter which plan you pick. Plus, it's a free trial anyway and you can [11:19] always upgrade or downgrade later. So, here's the choice, really. You can spend the next 6 months building an AI product and learning to code and then you can start the long hunt for users who might pay you someday, only to discover you've built a remarkably sophisticated solution to a problem that nobody has, except for maybe your mom and some guy from Reddit. Or, you can take a system that already works, install it for one business that already has customers, and then get paid every single month to keep it running. And then, you can do it again and again, using the exact same system and installing it for as many [11:49] clients as you want. Look, if your goal is to learn AI just for fun, then sure, go become an AI developer. But, if your goal is to make money and build something for yourself, something that you control and that can gives you complete control over your income, then all you need to do is become useful to one business. And once you've done it for one business, you've got the before and after that you can then show to the [12:10] next one and the next one after that. So, if you're ready to start, here's exactly what I do right now. Grab that extended 30-day free trial of HighLevel using the link in the description below. This way, the software and the Agency OS are already sitting in your account while you look for that first business. But, here's the thing. Everything I just showed you today is just one piece of [12:27] how a one-person agency actually works. If you want the full picture, how to pick your niche, how to price your services, how to put everything together, I've put together a complete masterclass that I've got linked up right here that's going to walk you through the whole thing step-by-step. So, feel free to tap or click that now. [12:42] I'll see you in there in just a second. --- About this transcript Read from YouTube's own caption track and laid out by ViewRank AI (https://viewrankai.com).
