# So You Keep Hitting GrokBot Limits. Here's How To Fix It. Channel: Kacper Rutkiewicz | AI Made Simple Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gH4WbXGOqY Duration: 20 min Language: English Words: 4995 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/4gH4WbXGOqY --- [0:00] biggest problem right now with Grokbot isn't the price, it's the fact that your weekly usage limit runs out in 3 days. Most people that use Grokbot are either on the $20 Cursors plan or the $30 Super Grok Plus plan, and just a few days in you're already locked out until the next week reset. And the team at SpaceX AI doesn't really publish real numbers of where your usage is actually going. So, pretty much everyone is flying blind on what's actually eating your usage. If this is your first time here, my name is Casper. I'm the founder of Deep Rooted AI. I use these tools every single day [0:27] to run my business and I build them out for paying clients. My goal for this video is simple. I want to show you what is draining your Grokbot usage and the exact settings I changed to stretch it. By the end, you'll know what's burning through your limit, the settings that I changed to slow it down, and how to read your own meter so your plan lasts a lot closer to the reset. So, get comfortable, grab some coffee, and let's hop straight into the video. Before we make any changes to any settings inside of Grokbot, we need to get in the habit [0:52] of actually checking our weekly usage. Because understand, whether you're on the Cursors plan, whether you're on the Super Grok plan, Grokbot is a weekly usage pool similar to Codex now. So, if you go to the bottom left right here, you click on weekly usage, you can see that I'm about 38% through mine, and it resets in 4 days. If you want to get a better view, just go ahead and click on change limit and this will bring up your usage and billing settings. You guys can see 38% resets in 4 days. Now, later in the video, I'm going to show you exactly how you can set up a bot that actually [1:18] shows you your weekly usage and shoots a reminder over to your chief of staff just so we're getting in this habit a little bit better. And here's the mental model that I want you guys to understand. Grokbot has essentially a bot allowance. It's a weekly budget and it's directly cost based to how many prompts you're putting into your Grok agents. So, every single time you prompt a bot, it's running the model call, it's running the input tokens, the output tokens, the cache hits, all of that. And all of those cache tokens get valued at the model's rate. So, the more calls you make and the bigger the calls get, will [1:47] drain your usage a lot more. And just to be clear, that's separate from your Grok web app tool. That's a completely different usage pool and you're not kind of blending those two together. I do want to take this time to really plead and ask SpaceX AI to make a unified subscription before making any updates. I know we just got voice mode in Grok Bot and that's really cool, but please give us one unified subscription. I'm tired of having a cursor subscription, a Super Grok Plus subscription, and X subscription so I can have the premium features on that. It's just a lot to manage and just please make one unified [2:17] subscription. Anyways, that's all you really need to understand about the usage meter. Grok Bot's not actually counting messages, it's counting the cost of the work that your bots are doing. So, everything that we talk about from here is about cutting the jobs that don't earn their keep. The number one thing that's draining your Grok Bot usage right now is the work that's running on autopilot, whether you need it or whether you don't need it. So, what I'm going to do right now and I want you guys to do the same is open up your routines and see how many you have and how often they actually fire. Of [2:43] course, I practice what I preach, so this is the first mate bot that I have. This is my chief of staff. I have a heartbeat that's currently paused cuz I'm working on something else. I have a Monday book sweep that's currently paused, but these are two routines that would be running if I head over to my CFO, we can see that we have a weekly Monday money brief. For my sniff bot, there's no routines there. For my chief content officer, we have a content weekly and every Sunday that gives us a brief of all of my content channels at once on Sunday, so I know kind of what [3:08] to focus on for the next week. We can see the puppet master, which I use for fantasy football. We have three routines in this one, two that run every single day, and one that runs once a week. So, I should probably turn these off because I'm not that into fantasy football and this is probably eating my weekly usage a little bit more than it should. Then I have Dr. Egg Bot with two routines. So, you guys can see at the end of the day, I have a few routines that are running, but I have them optimized to a way to where in 3 days I've only used 40% of my [3:32] usage and that is a little bit more than I'd like, but I can definitely spread 60% of usage for the next 4 days. And that's not the only thing that eats your usage when you do first start off with Grok Bot and you're setting up your first team of agents, just understand that first week you're probably going to go blow through your limit just setting up your bots. Hopefully you start off with one chief of staff bot and figure out from there how to add bots, but if you go ahead and add five or 10 bots right away, you're going to blow through that limit. I also wanted to show you [3:57] guys a little bit of math behind this. So, if you take a look at this and you count how often your routines actually run, if you have a routine running every 15 minutes, that's 96 runs a day and 672 runs a week. I don't know why you would have a routine running every 15 minutes, but if you do, try to find a way to have that routine maybe run once or twice a day. Running it four times an hour is just completely ridiculous and unnecessary. Like I said, twice a day is often plenty. That matches the answers freshness. And the fewer routines you have and the fewer runs is the single [4:25] biggest lever you have into saving your Grok bot limit. And if you are running a ton of routines, just make sure that those routines have a bulletproof SOP, a standard operating procedure that they follow every single time, so the model's not really thinking and having to kind of use more tokens to get that job done. Another thing that I want you guys to also check is duplicate bots. So, when you import a bot from online, their routines can actually come with it and immediately activate in your setup. They also come with identity and settings configuration, skills and plugins, and then memories that the creator ships alongside it. So, every time you add a [4:57] bot, do a good job at going through your roster of bots and seeing if there's any duplicate routines that they're running, so you can save your limit there. A perfect example of this duplicate feature for me is that when I first made my chief of staff agent, it automatically came with a heartbeat routine and I noticed a little bit of flaws in it, so I created my own bot that's main job is to do a heartbeat and check all the agents. And you guys can see right here that I have a heartbeat routine that is active. So, in my chief of staff, I turned it off. I could [5:23] probably delete it, but I'm not going to right now. And then I have an active heartbeat routine running inside of my heartbeat agent. And you definitely don't have to delete routines if you don't want to. You can just go ahead, click into the routine and just click on pause, and that will go ahead and pause the routine. Same thing if you want to activate it. This pause button that you're looking at on the screen right now will turn into a resume button and then you would just activate it and that cron would start firing. You may be thinking that this is pretty boring right now, and the reality is managing [5:47] your contacts and saving on usage limits is not a sexy thing. You definitely need to be in tune with your automations, in tune with your bots, know exactly what they're doing, because if you don't, your limits is going to be gone in 2 days, and that's just is what it is. But obviously, fewer runs is the biggest one, and it's directly correlated to lowering your usage limits. The next one is making the runs that you keep cost less. So, we've cut out the runs that you don't need. Now, let's make the runs that you've kept a little bit cheaper, and that all starts with routing. Now, [6:14] if you've set up your Rockbot in a fashion where you talk to one Chief of Staff Agent for pretty much everything, there's a habit that's quietly costing you. It's so easy and simple to actually just push everything through that Chief of Staff Agent, and then just get the answers back, have it delegate to all the other sub-agents, and get all your work done like that. But your usage will thank you if when you have a very specific job, you go to that specific agent and just happen to that chat window. That's what that bot is there for, and every extra handoff is a decision that the model has to make and [6:42] uses more tokens thinking, which directly takes away from your usage limit. I'm still a big fan of the Chief of Staff Agent when it comes down to, you know, reporting, getting a consensus from all the agents, and just making sure everything's on the same page, and being the main orchestrator. But when it comes to something super specific, just go to that agent. As you can see, I have four main teammates in my kind of pin section. I have my Chief of Staff, I have my CFO, I have my Chief Content Officer, and then I have my Sniffbot, which is my security for whenever I want to import an X template from online. And [7:11] usually, I'm right in my Chief of Staff. I'm asking him for reports, I'm asking to see what other bots are doing, to delegate certain tasks to bots, help me come up with ideas for new bots, and things like that. But let's say I'm working on content specifically. I would just work with the Chief Content Officer. I would drop a YouTube link, have it cut up clips for me, whatever the case may be. Now, let's say I was getting even more specific than that, then I would just hop into my content team over here, and let's say I would hop into my LinkedIn bot. I haven't even [7:37] set this up yet, but it's all about helping me draft ideas and LinkedIn posts that I can quickly post when I take whatever piece of content, whether it's a link, whether it's a document, put it in here, it'll help me draft those ideas. Why would I do that from my chief of staff? That's just adding a huge chain of decisions for the model that it just does not need to make. And it's the exact same thing with group chats. If I'm in a group chat, the best thing that I can do is actually just tag the bot that I'm looking for a response from. Now, if I'm asking all the bots at [8:02] once, of course, then just type in the message. If I want an answer for my specific bot, I'll just at them in the chat. So, I could just at Chief Basa here and ask him about our usage. And to do this, you'll actually need to start the group chat first. So, earlier you saw I had it up in the sidebar. I didn't start the group chat, so I couldn't tag him. You actually have to start the [8:18] group chat in order to tag the agents. Also, tagging, if you have your bots in group chats, is incredibly important because if you don't, then the model's going to decide and the bots are going to decide who responds, which is adds more thinking, more context, and more usage that's draining your limit. Now, when you set up a recurring job or a routine, make sure you're giving it a narrow brief. Earlier, I mentioned the SOP and that's the exact same kind of concept here. Just make sure that you have a bulletproof procedure that it's following every single time and decisions in that routine are limited. A few ways that I like to do it is I [8:48] always give it a role, I always give it input and output and saying exactly what's going to come in, what I expect to come out. Long rambling chats make routines cost a lot more over time and that comes down to not being very specific in your routine and giving the agent a lot of time to kind of just make decisions and think a lot more. And especially when you're starting off with Grokbot, have one job per bot. That beats one bot doing everything all the time. The best way to do this, in my opinion, is have a combination of a first mate or chief of staff-like agent [9:16] with Dr. Eggbot and have them communicate together and have them build the bots for you in a very specific fashion. At this point, we've covered eliminating or lowering the amount of routines your agents are doing and we've talked about routing a little bit. Now, we're going to get into the setting that actually burned me the most when I first started using Grokbot and that's how our [9:34] bots actually touch the outside world. The way our agents connect with the outside world is one of three ways. We have plugins and connectors, which are natively inside of Grok Bot already, and I'll show you guys a way to add other plugins that don't exist in the Grok Bot infrastructure. Then we have an API or a script that Grok Bot can use to connect to other platforms, and then we of course have computer use, and computer use is so awesome, and it's the one that I started with, but it burns through the most of your usage. So, if there's already a built-in plugin or integration, let's use that first. To [10:04] figure out where those are, you can just go over to Marketplace, and in Marketplace, you'll be able to see all the actual plugins. There's featured plugins that you can view, and then if you continue scrolling down, they're all kind of in certain subjects like design, code, data, sales, finance, and whatever the case may be. But, Grok Bot has a certain limit to the plugins that it actually has. So, in the search bar of the Marketplace, I want you guys to type in Compozio, because that's how we're going to get even more connectors and plug them into Grok Bot. Once you click on Compozio, you're going to have to [10:32] connect and actually create a Compozio account. And once you create a Compozio account, you'll have a dashboard that looks like this, and then you can go over on the left-hand side and click on Connect Apps. And then from here, you'll just see the entirety of the apps that actually exist. And here we have so many different plugins that can just connect to X, and you can get the data through there, which is really cool. It's kind of your one-stop shop for almost any API connection that there is or plugin that there is. Um and if Grok Bot doesn't have it, then Compozio probably has it, and you can bridge it that way. I always [11:02] say to start with a built-in connector first, just because that's the fastest way of your agent actually accomplishing the task that it wants to accomplish without a bot just clicking around. Then if a connector doesn't exist, that's when we would use some sort of API or script. That's where Compozio would also come in a little bit, just like I mentioned earlier, or you can generate a script on your local computer that runs a certain automation or does something the same way every time. Lastly, we have computer use, which is the most fancy one, and the one I love using the most, [11:29] but it does burn the most tokens for me. And we're putting this last because the only time you should really be using it is if the first two don't work. So, if there's no way of reaching some sort of service, then you could actually log in with your Grok Bot on its computer, teach it actually how to do the specific task you're looking to do, and then have it execute it that way. What I'm going to do now is hop back into Grok Bot, and I want to show you guys the actual usage bot, and I'll share the link to usage bot in the link in the description, and [11:52] we're going to cover it here in a second. But, essentially what usage bot does is checks my Cursor subscription, and kind of pings me when I'm using bit too much of my usage. It monitors my usage, and right now what I'm trying to add to this bot, and when it's ready, I'll share it all with you guys, is actually tracking sessions to see which bots I'm using the most, and which ones are directly correlated to me using the most of my usage, right? But, anyways, how the usage bot works right now is it actually has to log into my Cursor account, so I gave it the Cursor login, [12:20] and then inside of its computer, it's just looking at this screen. So, anytime it refreshes, and it needs to ping me that I'm using a little bit too much of my usage, and tells me how much how many days I have left until a reset, then it's going to look at this, it's going to ping me, and then it's going to ping Chief of Staff. That's when I would read it. So, this is a really cool feature, and it's exactly why I wanted to share it with you guys. To give you a clearer explanation of what usage bot actually does, it tracks Grok Bot remaining usage [12:45] for the account, and briefs team agents so they can throttle their work. Two routines come with this. Let me go ahead and open it up fully for you guys so we can vet it together. So, I'll scroll through this really quickly with you guys, but here are some of the memories that it comes with. I'm not going to go and open through all of these. It also comes packed with skills to actually throttle some agents and actually stop them from doing work if they're burning through your usage too much. And then the two routines that it comes with is a weekday usage refresh, and then an [13:09] activity window usage cadence. I highly recommend adding this to your team if you don't have some sort of usage bot already. This could be your first one. All right, last piece, and this is a little bit more of a guardrail to ensure that you can never blow past your limit and start getting API credits charged to your account. There's a setting, and I'm going to show you exactly where it is in GrokBot called on demand. And what happens is if this is turned on, anytime you have gone through your weekly limit, it's going to start billing you API credits. And API credits are way more [13:38] expensive than any plan that you're on. Just to help you understand the severity of this, if you leave this on and you're not accounting for it and you've blown past your limit, I think I got billed over $100 for probably an hour's worth of work using GrokBot with the on demand billing. So, definitely do not do that unless you're swimming in money. Then you can do it. Inside of GrokBot, we'll go to the same spot. We'll go to weekly usage. We'll go to change limit. And right here, you'll see the on demand monthly limit. If I go ahead and do a fixed or unlimited, if you are going to [14:05] turn this on in case you need it for some sort of fail-safe, you could turn a fixed limit on of $100, $10, $20. The number can be changed here, but do not have it on unlimited. If you have it on unlimited, you're going to get a scary Cursor bill. The model Grok 4.6 is cheaper than most of the other frontier models, but it is still expensive. I'm telling you like two or three prompts, two or three tasks, I had $100 to owe to Cursor. Before I send you off, I want to hammer this habit inside of your guys' brains just because there's no really way of limiting usage if you don't know [14:37] where that usage is going. So, make sure you're measuring the change on your own meter. You're adding a new bot and it's got a new job, always check the before and after first time that it's done that job so you can find ways to optimize it to lower the usage that that bot is using. Also, watch the weekly usage screen whether that's in Cursor whether that's in your GrokBot usage and billing settings. Get really comfortable actually looking at that if you don't have a usage bot set up because if you have a usage bot set up, it will ping your chief of staff or whatever bot you [15:04] want it to ping and let you know. This is also a good point for me to tell you that you can't actually stack plans. So, I tried to do this myself with the Super Grok Plus plan and the Cursor Pro plan. So, I was trying to spend around $90 a month. Uh they do not stack. So, if you're on the Cursor $60 plan, that's the usage limit pool that you have. And if you're on the Grok heavy Super plan, which is $30 a month, you'll be on that plan. So, they don't stack. You're not getting a stack subscription of a weekly pool. They don't stack. That's annoying, [15:30] and that's also why I'm asking for one unified subscription. I need a $100 super Grok plus plan, please. And if you've made it to the end, now you have an actual plan to maximize your $20 or $30 plan. And if you're on any of the bigger plans, like the $200 and $300, you should literally never hit your weekly limits if you're following these kind of instructions. So, fewer routines, so make sure you're matching the cadence of the work that you actually need. And if there's work that [15:54] doesn't earn its keep, get rid of it. Direct routing, specific jobs go to a specialist agent. Don't route everything through your chief of staff agent if it isn't necessary. Connectors first, API second, browser use last, and then turn on demand off so you get no surprise bill. And of course, make sure you're always watching and making the habit of looking at your weekly limit. I know I threw a little bit at you guys today, so if you got lost at any point of the video, don't worry at all. I'm going to be dropping a full free resource guide that walks you through all of these concepts and helps you save your $20 and [16:27] $30 weekly limit a lot better. As always, if you've gotten any value from this video, drop a like, hit that subscribe button, turn that notification bell on so you don't miss one of my videos, and leave a comment down below on how fast you're blowing through your weekly limit and if it's a problem for you. You've made it [16:54] this far in the video, thank you so much, and I'll see you guys in the next one. God bless, guys. Hey there. If you're still here, that means you've made it to the end of the video. First of all, thank you so much. If you're new here, something I like to do at the end of all my videos is pray for you guys, my audience. I do this [17:10] because I genuinely care about you guys. I love and appreciate the precious time and attention you give to my videos and your willingness to learn. And I also want to see you guys live fulfilled lives. I want to see you guys be good people. I want to see you guys spreading love, spreading the word, um being good stewards of all the gifts that God has given you. Uh but most importantly, I do this because I know that there's someone out there that needs to hear it. I know that there's a lot of people who are struggling with, you know, crazy thoughts, anxiety, depression, uh financial problems, and there's just so [17:37] many different problems and and uh situations that the the world throws at us. Um and I know that there's someone that just might need to hear a prayer. I know that there's someone out there praying for them and thinking about them. Uh if this makes you uncomfortable at all, please feel free to click off the video. I'm not here to force anything on you, but do know if you leave that Jesus loves you. I'm going to [17:55] go ahead and pray for you guys. Heavenly Father, spirit of the living God, thank you so much for this day. Thank you so much for the opportunity that you've blessed us with today to just live another day. We know that some people didn't get the blessing of waking up today and now hopefully that they're with you. Um Lord, but I just want to thank you for the breath of life and and another day to attack another [18:16] opportunity that glorifies you, Lord. May everything that I do glorify you in any way and honor you. What I I also want to just thank you for my audience, the people on the other side of the screen, for their precious time and attention and their willingness to learn from me. Still can't believe that. I'll say it every single day. Um but I want to pray a blessing over them, Lord, a blessing of just peace and wisdom. Lord, continue just give them peace and know that you are the ultimate planner and that you just know everything that's [18:41] going to happen before it's happened. And uh that we could just come to you with all our problems and you'll give us that peace to understand that it's just going to be okay and this too shall pass. Lord, just also give us the wisdom to make the right decisions, to make very structured decisions based on facts and based on, you know, just all the information that we have given to us. Just allow us to make proper decisions that honor and glorify you. And Lord, I just want to pray most importantly for the people out there, our brothers and sisters in Christ who are struggling. Lord, just meet them [19:11] exactly where they are, whether that you know, whatever it is and their dark places Lord, I know that's just the testing of their faith and once they persevere through that, they're going to be all good Lord, but it's very hard sometimes. Nobody ever really understands why bad things happen to them. But Lord, just continue to meet them where they're at. Reveal yourself to them if they if they need you to be revealed to them and just help them understand that your glory and your grace and your love can squash any problem in this world and help them see it through. Lord, and also help them understand that there are people out [19:43] there praying for them. There is help out there if they need to get that help and Lord, we just pray that they seek that help. Lord, I want to thank you for your grace, your love, your son Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross. And because of that sacrifice, we can now have a relationship with you, which is a relationship that we do not deserve. I pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Now go have a blessed day guys and I'll see you in [20:06] the next one. --- About this transcript Read from YouTube's own caption track and laid out by ViewRank AI (https://viewrankai.com).
