# How Smart People Are Using AI Right Now (7 Insane Use Cases) Channel: Riley Brown Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PO0x-myitw Duration: 28 min Language: English Words: 5221 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/4PO0x-myitw --- [0:00] Everyone is saying that AI is flooding the internet with slop. However, when I look at what high agency people are doing with AI, I see the opposite. They're using AI to delete slop, which allows them to have more fun, become more productive, and make more money. All because they use AI to remove slop. And I actually have seven examples. So, the first way that AI is actually removing slop is you can actually vibe code your own TV software. Let me explain. So, this guy, he originally tweeted this in Portuguese. He tweeted, "I vibe coded my TV with Claude. All the pre-installed bloatware and ads were removed. And on top of that, I recreated [0:44] its operating system and made a clean design inspired by Apple TV. 70% less RAM usage and three times faster interface." And it was that this exact moment where I realized that there might be a narrative violation going around. AI is actually removing human slop. I don't know if you have a smart TV, but it is so annoying to use. And this is another example of someone removing all of the slop, all of the ads, all of the terrible user interface decisions made on this TV, and he vibe coded a version for himself. And now he has a way easier TV interface that he can use at any time [1:24] to watch his shows, watch YouTube, etc. And this is not just one person. This guy said, "Vibe coded my parents' TV this afternoon. It was showing a sponsored ad before you could even get to Netflix. I gave Claude code the model number. It found the TV on Wi-Fi and removed 25 Xiaomi packages and wrote a new [1:43] launcher. Now it looks like Apple TV." And then this guy even created a voice controller for his TV. Voice repeatedly finding out that to quote Destiny Play Stranger Things. farmers are Jesus. So, I popped up outside the tip and it switches to Netflix and immediately starts playing Stranger Things. And so, what's very interesting about this is these TVs are actually sold at a loss or really low profit. The price of TVs for, you know, a 80-in TV has gone down drastically over the last 10 years and these are often sold at a loss or very low profit. And this is because they hit you with a ton of ads [2:20] and they collect a ton of data from you and that's how they make their money. They make it on the back end. They sell you the hardware for cheap and then they make money through ads and collecting data. could almost say that this business model, right? This entire business model is built for slop. We're going to give you this hardware device that's a pretty nice device like for the cost except we're just going to serve you slop until you die. And what's crazy about this is people are plugging in Claude into these TVs and they're just building their own custom software for the TV. And this is actually going to be [2:54] a huge theme over the rest of the video, which is you take something like a TV which has all of these different features and then you take the slice of the features that you want and you use AI to only have that slice of features, right? I only want to have access to Netflix and Hulu and YouTube and a couple of other features. I'm going to five code a solution which gets rid of everything else, aka the slop. And the second way that you can actually use AI to remove slop is you can apply what we talked about in number one to any device in your home. Basically, any device that [3:31] you own can actually be jailbroken and you can remove the slop. And so, Adrian said this. He said, "This is wild. I connected the Kindle over USB and let Claude code jailbreak the Kindle. I removed all the Amazon bloat and added Tailscale." And to get a sense of why this guy Brandon said, "At first I was like, why though?" And then I was like, "Because you can." But it's actually utilitarian because Adrian said, "Anytime I like to read something later, I save the article using Read Deck, and then it downloads plus syncs with my home server. When my Kindle syncs, I get it on Kindle." So, he can get any sort [4:08] of thing that he reads on the internet and he can save it to this Kindle. Since he jailbroke it, he can basically do anything he wants with the e-reader. And apparently, to learn how to do this, there's a website called kindle modding. com or .org, rather, and you can figure out how to jailbreak your Kindle. And so, this is a very similar situation to the smart TV, except it's a little bit different in the sense that he also added additional features. So, not only did he keep all of the Kindle features that he liked and select the few features that he wanted to keep, he also [4:41] added additional features cuz he fully jailbroke it, added Tailscale, and he basically could add any feature or at least thousands of potential features to his Kindle. And of course, it's not just because of AI, right? This was all possible before, but since Claude Code can write code better than almost any developer, this means anybody can jailbreak it. If you have a USB-C, to my knowledge, if you have a USB-C cord that plugs into your computer and the Kindle, you can just jailbreak it now. And you can use AI to add any feature the same way you can go to lovable to vibe code an app, you can now just vibe code an [5:19] app on your Kindle using Claude Code, which is pretty insane. And then, I also did this with my mod retro. This is on my Instagram if you want to check it out. I basically added Muse, the Meta AI agent, to this mod retro, and it was awesome, right? I added this I could I jailbroke it and or I could plug it into my computer and I told Codex to just create a new version of this app that lets me chat with Muse, [5:48] which is insane. This is an AI agent. Now, a Game Boy was turned into an AI agent. And so, that is awesome. Hey guys, I run Agent Native on Revolut Business for a pretty simple reason. It works with my agents. It's a business account I use to manage the money side of my company, and they're sponsoring this part of the video. I opened a [6:09] Revolut Business account for my company. I've put in my link and QR code here if you want to do the same with the $200 welcome bonus when you add money to your new account. More information is in the description. This is where I can get paid. I can also create a separate virtual card for different software subscriptions, so it's easier to keep [6:28] track of what we're spending on tools. Revolut's built-in AI matches receipts and transactions and automatically categorizes expenses. That takes a lot of manual work out of keeping expenses organized for accounting. And here's where all my agents come in. All of them are connected to Slack, and I use Revolut Business API to pipe them in and send our spending alerts into a channel that everyone can read. Every week my agents let the team know what we've spent and where we could save money. So, those individual transactions turn into a weekly report we can actually use. And [7:06] that's why the connection matters to me. I manage the company's finances in Revolut Business, and my agents use those updates to keep the whole team informed. Again, the link is in the description. Okay, let's get back to the third way that AI is removing slop is it's just getting better at basically everything, including video editing. In fact, I think AI video editing is better than most human video editors at most things. So, here I am inside Claude code. I'm using Claude projects, and I've been working with it, and we're [7:39] creating a intro for my video tomorrow. And I've just been iterating on it, and check this out. Let's go ahead and watch this video real quick. Guys, it's happening. AI has officially [music] taken over video editing, and everything you see right now was created in one shot using Claude Code and Blender. [music] And today, I'm going to show you how I use Claude Fable and Claude Opus to edit [8:05] videos. And we're going to be doing [music] this straight from the brand-new Claude Projects feature. That's pretty good. And so, I'm not nearly as good as some other people, but look at this example. This one actually blew my mind. [8:36] [music] [8:44] [music] [9:01] [music] [9:12] [music] [9:21] And so, here's the prompt. He ran it on Ultra Code for about 12 hours, and said, "Make a 1-minute video about the Claude mascot, Claude. You can find the assets online, like SVGs, and recreate and animate them yourself. Be as creative as you possibly can. Render 3D objects, Claude Code terminals, etc., etc. Don't create slop. I want to see art and creativity. No fonts, no text, only clean animations of Claude. And so that 3D animation would take hours for a human to do. Especially like a human to be that detailed, it could even take weeks for someone to try and manually create a video using Blender. And [9:56] instead, he just went to Claude and turned it up to ultra code and said spend a ton of time making sure that it is not slop. And so he was able to prompt it. He was able to to decide what people would think is slop, and he got AI to create the exact thing that he wanted. And what I'm really excited about this is I want to use this in my videos to make the exact B-roll that I want for any given scene. And I think I [10:22] can make my YouTube channel way better. Something like Cleo Abram, she has a full team of animators who work on her videos. Rightfully so, she makes millions of dollars from videos. But she creates amazing graphics. And so now I'm trying to think, okay, how do I, as a YouTuber, come up with a visual identity for my videos and make them even better through animations. And I genuinely think this is a massive opportunity, and I don't think it looks like slop. I think this video looks incredible. And I think that future models will be able to create even more insane 3D graphics. So the fourth way that AI is removing slop [11:01] is it can actually act as an AI filter to your feed. Let me explain. Here's Nick Dobos, one of my favorite follows on Twitter. Info diets completely changed because of AI. I don't read my email anymore. That's an AI's job to filter for me and notify. I do an inbox zero sweep once a week after my agent has already cleaned 99% of it. This increases the value of email. Now I actually sign up for more email notifications, which I previously avoided because it's a huge waste of time. For example, I now opt in to email receipts so my postmaster email bot can forward them to my trinket shopper bot [11:41] and my meal planning bot. Now I can swipe my card at my favorite coffee shop and it gets logged into my diet automatically. Okay, this part I think is a little bit of an over optimization, but the first part is he's basically talking about using AI as a filter. And so let's go over two examples of this right now that you can use with any AI agent in less than 2 minutes. What Nick is talking about is he has an inbox filled with a ton of emails. And previously uh he was afraid of slop, right? Because if he has to open up his email app, and I actually use Superhuman [12:17] for this, where I manually go through and filter out most of the emails. Some of them get auto sorted into spam, but sometimes I actually need to go in and check those because some of them are actually kind of important. AI agents are getting so smart and they have full context over you that they actually know what's important to you. And so you could literally just go to Claude right now, connect your Gmail, which takes 30 seconds, and say, "Hey Claude, can you go through all my emails from the past 2 weeks and archive the ones that are obvious spam?" And then you could add something like based on my goals and you [12:50] could further specify which are blank. But if you're using an always-on agent, like maybe you're using Grok Bot, maybe you're using GPT-3 dots or Meta Muse, these agents are getting really good at understanding what's important to you. Whereas a standalone email app wouldn't actually know what's important to you, so it's harder for them to filter. And if you use an AI agent that knows you, it's going to be better at understanding what to filter out. And so what Nick Dobos is saying here is he's saying that he actually it's increasing the value of email. And so he's actually more willing to increase the amount of mail that [13:28] comes into his inbox because he knows his AI agent will send it to the right place and filter out all of the slop. So, it's another example of like getting rid of email slop. And I think this is something that you should be doing. And again, it requires agency. You actually have to set this up. It's not going to be set up for you. And it's not just email. This is basically everything that is on the internet. And the one that I like the most recently is I'm spending [13:55] less time looking at slop on Twitter. And I'm spending more of my time having my AI agent search through Twitter and find the relevant things to show me. On Grokbot now, they actually have Twitter built in. So, I could say I'm I've recently been interested in how AI is editing videos and I want you to find reputable people, not scammer type people that are like trying to quote tweet their article. I want you to find people who are breaking it down in an interesting way and just give me a list [14:25] of all of these different people. So, I can fire this prompt into Grok and it has baked into it it has Twitter. So, you don't need to give it an API key. This is not This is included in your subscription for Grokbot. It can search through Twitter for you. And what that means is I can spend way less time scrolling X. Maybe I'll only scroll for 200 hours this year or this month. Point is, I really want to get the benefits from scrolling X, but I don't want to have to go through all the slop to find the relevant videos. And using AI allows you to do this on X. And also with Meta [15:03] Muse, right? You can use Meta Muse to do this on Instagram. They have the similar style feature, right? You can do research using Muse through Instagram. You can search through Instagram. You can also I have a automation on on Muse where it saves people who follow me to a spreadsheet and then it notifies me of all the people who followed me that would be good for my business, right? Whether it's someone I want to hire, whether it's someone who wants to do consulting for AI agents, etc. And it also saves anyone who's over 10,000 followers to just let them know that they followed me. And so that means I don't need to go [15:44] to Muse and check this manually and you know how it is. If you go to a social media platform, you're just going to be sucked in by the algorithm. You're going to be sucked in by the slop. By interacting with AI agents to do all this for you, you're actually bypassing a lot of the slop. And so that's kind of the point that I wanted to get across for this one. And so the seventh way that AI is removing slop is I'm swapping apps for agents. My home screen on my phone is literally empty now. So I made this joke the other day. I said anyone [16:17] who says software is dead and that AI will kill apps is wrong. I've been downloading apps like crazy and then I had all of these different agent or AI tools on my phone and I think this is a point that I want to get across. Many people are saying that tools like Grokbot, which allow you to interact with an agent and within Grokbot, I'm just using Grokbot as an example because it's open, but you can very easily open up your apps. So your agent can use apps and that means you can use these little apps with your agent. You can get it to go through your email. You can get it to [16:53] go through any app that you would use. In theory, you can just have your agent do it. And so what many people are saying that this is going to kill applications, right? The App Store will die because your agents can just use your apps and your agents can actually do the things that your app does. Right? If you think of popular applications, right? Let's take an example of like Cal AI for example, which logs your It's like $50 a year to log your calories for food. You take a photo of food and it logs your calories. Well, you could go to Grok Bot and you could say something [17:28] like this, "Hey, every time I send you a photo, like if I take a photo and send it to you, I want you to just put it in a spreadsheet and log the calories that I've had for the day and then immediately just tell me how many calories is in the food." And you can just do this. And there's probably some API that someone's created that makes this super accurate, but most AI models are going to get it as accurate as CalAI would anyway. And so, what you're not [17:52] going to deal with is the slop, right? You're not going to deal with the retention of them trying to maximize retention. You're not going to be hit with these super persuasive paywalls trying to get you to sign up for like $7.99 a week. You're not going to be constantly upsold, right? When I use CapCut and I'm editing a video, I'm mostly just cutting a video and adding subtitles, but I'm constantly hit with [18:13] like, "Hey, try this new AI feature. Upgrade to the maximum plan so that you can export in a certain aspect ratio." All these things that I just do not need, you get hit with when using apps. And so, there's all these different things, and it turns out that AI agents can just do most of these things for you if you just ask. And so, what I've found in my life is I've canceled almost all of the apps that I use and I'm just interacting with AI agents, whether that is on text or through voice mode, which I'll be making a video out about in the future. I've removed app slop from my [18:46] life and I'm basically just interacting with agents. And I'm even doing this for work, but we'll get to that in a couple minutes. So, the sixth way that AI is removing slop also has to do with video editing. And that is it's very easy now to edit the slop out. So, here, this is Tella. And so, this is the app that I use to record the video that you're watching now in all my videos, basically. I don't do my editing as much inside Tella. I send the files to my editor, but a lot of my videos now I actually am editing with AI because it's getting so good and it's getting easier [19:22] and easier to remove slop from the videos. You could go to Claude Code and say something like this. Hey, please find a recent video I did last week and I want you to analyze the video and I want you to tell me all of the parts that I could remove from the video or that I should remove. My goal is to remove slop, parts of the video that don't matter, tangents that don't matter, parts that like if I really respected my audience, I would want to remove because their time is valuable and I want to get the central point across without wasting their time. Can you please find a video and tell me all [19:55] the parts that you would remove from this? Point is, with modern editing software, whether you're using Premiere Pro, Descript, or Tella, it doesn't matter. You can use AI to analyze the transcript and you can literally get it to remove the slop. And it's actually better for retention, it's better for videos, right? If you remove all the parts that aren't necessary, you can actually save people time. And these are things that would be much harder to do pre-AI where you had to manually remove everything. And so the thing that I do with AI more than anything is just remove, cut down. I'm speeding up the boring parts so that people like [20:34] actually stay on the video and don't want and don't get bored. So I'm literally able to use AI to reduce slop or reduce time on video and just deliver the point that I'm trying to get across in my videos and it's incredibly useful. Okay, so it went through the video. Gemini 4 is here, but Fable 5.5 is terrifying. And look, it gave me all the different sections to fully cut completely. It gave me places where I had repeated points to collapse into one, parts that I should tighten, and here are parts that I would fix rather than cut. So, it's a literally a slop detector, and I can use AI to get better [21:12] at my craft and do less and less slop. And these are all pretty good suggestions that I could just tell the AI where I'm editing this video to make these edits and cut these parts from the video, and that's how I do a lot of my video editing now. I use AI to literally get rid of slop. And then finally, the seventh way that AI is removing slop, and this is the most important one that I use every single day is you can build your own internal software for your company. So, this here is Native Note that I built with Opus 5.5. This takes all of the features that I like from [21:49] Notion, MyMind, Typefully, and many other apps that I love to use, and I just I think in total, I probably spent a total of 3 hours working on this. This is where I keep all of my videos. So, this has all of my scripts, right? If we were to go this is my scripts for my videos. I can very easily attach an Excalidraw board, right? This is my own version of Excalidraw, and I can create a new board just like this. And now we have an attached board to that video where I can talk about AI video editing, um and look at this. Step one, two, three, or three and four. And [22:29] if we go back to all my scripts, what I've learned with AI video editing, you can see that all of the things that I do in the Excalidraw board show up in a preview at the top of my script. And so, this is a workflow that I did with Notion a lot, but it was super annoying cuz they weren't like attached, and AI [22:46] couldn't edit the Excalidraw diagrams. In this app, AI can do anything. So, anything that I can do in this app, AI can also do, which means I don't have to actually have to interact with this as much. If I'm going on a walk or I'm out on my phone, I can say, "Hey, can you [23:01] create an Excalidraw diagram board?" Which kind of creates a a diagram for what I'm doing in this video, and it can just do it. And I don't want to spend too much time on this, cuz that's not what this video is about, but I have this like short-form scratch board feature. This one I don't use that much, but I can tweet directly from my platform. I don't have to go to Twitter to tweet. I can do it straight from my internal software. I have all my brand deals logged. This feed right here is every single video that I'm working on, and maybe I'm working on with different [23:31] editors, maybe there's sponsors, etc. This feed monitors my email every 30 minutes, and everything that I need to know about it logs it in the feed. I have all the topic opportunities that I need for YouTube. Here's my YouTube analytics, and then here's a editor that I'm working on, where I can just type my comments into the video right here. All I have to do is just go to comments, type what I want to change, and then this will send a webhook back to Cloud Code, and it will actually edit this. I [23:57] haven't been working on this that much. This has a lot of work to do, but the point is, any idea that I have for software that I might want to add to my apps, I can very easily add. Nothing here is something that I don't use. If I don't use it, I'll get rid of it. But think about all the tools that you use [24:14] at your company. So much of it you don't use. It's clutter. It is slop. When you build software for your team, you can just build what you want. You can create the exact workflows that meet your team's needs. You don't need to rely on external developers at Notion, for example, who have way too many feature features. I only use 5% of the features Notion has. And so, why would I want to pay a ton of money to pay for seats in this app, so I can get their AI features, when I could just clone the small amount of the features that they use. And so, that's one way that I've [24:49] been removing slop. So, another thing that I've been doing is I've been building desktop apps. So, Raycast is one one my favorite apps, and I built an app like Raycast that allows me to really quickly find logos and get them on the Excalidraw board. And this is actually how I've been doing all my presentations, right? When I add diagrams to the board, I just open up my app. Let's say that we need um to look up. Let's just go ahead and look up AI slop. And we can just fire this prompt off. I don't know why this is the uh thing, but I can very quickly [25:20] hit remove background, and it will automatically turn it into a sticker that I can copy into my app. And then I can also take any image that I've saved from here, right? I can go to my library. These are all of the images that I've ever copied. These get saved to a library, and I can use them in image generation. So, I can type @riley, which I've searched before, and so I could just find Riley Brown, and I could say Riley Brown wearing a @claude code um Claude code shirt with this logo text on screen. Oh my god. But anyway, this is how I create some of my thumbnails, [26:05] right? Like here I was creating a thumbnail that you can create apps on the iPhone duo. And this is just a desktop app that I created in a single prompt. I'm not kidding. It has image search and image generation built in, and it's just right here. I don't pay anyone. I just use the AI the Vercel AI gateway, which allows get access to all these AI models that are necessary for this, and I can just create my thumbnails like this. I don't need to use anyone else's software. It has only the features that I need, and I just have it on my desktop, and now I use it [26:37] all the time. Like look at how many generations I do. This is over the course of months of usage. I've been using my own desktop app for months, and it's cost me like whatever the API costs cost, that's how much it cost me. No more than that. I don't pay for someone's service creating the app because I don't need to. It's too easy to build apps and that's one way that I've been saved a lot of money and saved a lot of time learning someone else's [27:01] software when I can just make my own. And so, those are just seven realizations that I had over the last few days. You can vibe code your own TV software. You can jailbreak your own software or hardware that you have at home and you can turn it into whatever you want. AI is getting better at most humans at using Blender and creating these really high quality 3D videos. You can let AI filter your feed, whether [27:23] that's email or Twitter or Instagram. You can just stop using apps personally and just start using agents for most things. You can edit all the videos you create down by telling it to remove all the slop and then you can just build your own software. You know, every piece of software you use has a ton of features. If you only need the few features from that piece of software, you can just extract them. Tell AI to build you software that only does those things and then you can add useful features that you use for different apps and you can combine them and create a super app. That's what I did. Anyway, [27:55] thank you guys for watching. I hope you guys got a little bit of something out of this video. Please hit that like and subscribe button. It helps me out a ton. And with that, I'll see you here for the next one. --- About this transcript Read from YouTube's own caption track and laid out by ViewRank AI (https://viewrankai.com).
