# I Gave Grok Bot Its Own Phone Number (Real-Life Jarvis) Channel: Damian Malliaros Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vcYQwa00po Duration: 19 min Language: English Words: 4280 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/0vcYQwa00po --- [0:00] I turned Grogbot into my own personal AI Jarvis assistant that runs 24/7 in the cloud by giving it a real phone number. And now it handles all of my admin work like drafting emails, scheduling tasks, and making all the phone calls that I don't want to make. And in this video, I will show you exactly how it works and how you can build this yourself even if you're a complete beginner. But before anything else, let me show you a quick demo. Now, as you can see I'm getting a call from my assistant and I will pick [0:34] it up. sir. It's Jarvis with your daily brief. Ready? Yes, go ahead, Jarvis. Three things today. You've got to hang out with Andrew from 5:00 to 7:00 this evening. The school contract just came in and needs signing. And there's a follow-up from Mark about a collab. Want me to handle any of it? Um yeah, draft a reply to Mark and tell him that my rate is $5,000 for a video and ask what platform and package they [0:58] are actually offering. The draft sitting in your Gmail for approval. Anything else? Actually, move Andrew to hang out from 7:00 to 8:00. 7:00 to 8:00 tonight. Is that everything? Yes, that's it, Jarvis. Thank you very much. Anytime, sir. Talk soon. And [clears throat] what you just saw, guys, was my AI Jarvis assistant that is running inside Grogbot. It was able to make any phone call that I want either to me or to some of my clients. And if I actually move over in my calendar, we can see that Jarvis did in fact move the hangout with Andrew from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. And he also created this draft [1:31] email over here where I'm basically telling Mark that my rate is $5,000 for a video and which platform does he currently have in mind, which is exactly what I described in the phone call. And in this video, I'll show you exactly how you can build this system. All right. Now, the first thing that we have to do is to install Grogbot. So, to do that, [1:47] simply go over to x.ai/bot. I will also leave a link for it in the description below and then simply come over here and download it for your operating system. And once you download it and you open it up your PC, you will be able to start using it. But, in order for our service to be able to make all the phone calls that we don't want to [2:03] make, we need to create one connection. And that connection is going to be with a platform that is called bland.ai, which basically allows AI to access your phone number and make calls on your behalf, which can be super useful because you can make all the repetitive phone calls that you don't want to make, like making reservations in restaurants, calling your clients and giving them an update, and even calling your friends or family if you don't manually have the time to do that. Now, to connect Grokbot with Bland, you simply have to click on the link that I have left in the description below, which is going to [2:35] bring you over to this template over here, which is a pre-built template that already has instructions for how the bot should book restaurants, follow up with leads, or ping someone you care about. So, make sure you click the link in my description, which is going to bring you over in this page, and then simply come over here and click on the add to Grokbot button, which is then going to bring you back inside Grokbot, where all you have to do is to simply click on add bot, and then you simply have to go through the onboarding questions. First, it is asking us what kind of calls do we [3:03] have in mind. I will say customer service follow-ups for now. Then, it is asking us how we want to set this up. Do we want to go with a free credits, or do we want to go with a paid plan? Now, if this is the first time of you trying an app, feel free to go with the free credits since they're more than enough to try it out and get a feel for how it works. And then, once you use it and you see that you actually like it, feel free to upgrade to the paid plan, which I do want to mention that if you sign up to [3:28] through the link in my description, you will get your first month for just $15, and then it will increase to $29.99. But, for now, we'll simply select the free credits option. And now, it is actually telling us that the bot can create your account just by you giving it access to your phone number and to your email address. Or, if you want to manually create it, you can simply go over in the bland.ai website, click on the try for free button, and then simply come over here and manually create your account. Now, I personally choose to go with a manual route of creating my account inside the Bland AI website. And [4:01] after I created it, I met with this onboarding process. So, I can actually select the voice in which it's going to be speaking to me. And if you want over here, you can also have a conversation to see how the AI actually looks. Now, I'll choose to skip this part because you will see this later on once we have actually fully built out the entire system. Because what I now need to do is to actually connect my Bland account into Grok Bot. So, to do that, I will simply come over here. I will say, "Hey, [4:25] I actually manually created my account. Give me a sign-in link so I can sign in with my account so you can have access to it." And if I actually send over this film, then the bot is going to give me this link over here, which if I actually click on, it's going to pop up this page over here in my browser, where I can simply authorize it and it's going to successfully connect to my Grok Bot. And if I actually come back over to Grok Bot now, it's telling me that yes, it's successfully connected. And now it's asking me whether it should add Bland as a connector in my account. So, I simply [4:52] have to come over here and say, "Yes, add it." So, it can also go and add the Bland MCP, thus making it possible to use all the functions that Bland is offering from inside Grok Bot, which it just finished doing. And that now means that Bland will be able to make calls based on our instructions. Now, if you want your voice agent to have a very specific voice, then you can simply come over here to voices, where you will be able to preview all the different types of voices that Bland gives you access to. And you can listen to each one of those voices by clicking on the preview [5:21] voice option. Oh, hey. So, this is um this is a little preview of my voice. And yeah, I really hope you like the way I sound. So, feel free to actually go through this voice tab over here and preview a bunch of them so you can find the one that you actually want to use. But, if you want to use the specific voice that I used in the demo that you saw at the start of this video, that voice is called Mr. Jarvis, and it's this one over here, which sounds just like Jarvis from Iron Man. But, I personally prefer Alexandra's voice a bit better for my [5:49] personal assistant, so I will choose to go with this one. And to actually set them a Grok quote to use it, all I have to do is simply come over here and copy here voice ID, and then I can come back over to Grok Bot, paste in the voice ID, and say something like, "This is the voice ID of the voice that I want you to use when making the calls. The voice is actually called Alexandra V3, so make sure you're using that one." And to test it out, I actually make a phone call to my phone number, so I can verify that the entire workflow is working [6:16] correctly. And now, I will send over this prompt, and Grok Bot is going to go and make sure that it is using the Alexandra version 3 voice, and from moment to moment, I'm expecting to receive a phone call, which I'm receiving right now, as you can see right here. So, let me actually take this phone call, pick it up, so you guys can also hear exactly what it this is [6:35] going to say. Hello. Hi, Damiano. This is your assistant testing the Alexandra voice. Can you hear me clearly? Yes, I can hear you pretty good. Uh can you hear me as well? Yes, I can hear you. Thanks for checking. Have a good day. Bye. Thank you. And as you guys have saw, our assistant does called us and it successfully used the Alexandra V3 voice that we just told it so, which means that our Grok workflow is working correctly. But, there are still things that we need to do to actually make this useful when it comes to a real-life workflow. And the first thing is to actually come over here to the connect [7:05] apps tab and connect all the third-party apps that we want Grok Bot and internal voice assistant to actually be able to access. Now, personally, I would advise you to connect your Gmail, so your AI assistant can manage all of your emails, and you can very easily do that by simply coming over here and clicking on add. And then, this tab is going to pop up, where you simply need to authenticate with your Google account, allow Grok access to your email information, and then the connection will be successfully established. And I would also advise you definitely do your Google Calendar, since at least that's how I personally manage my time. So, [7:38] simply select Google Calendar, then click on add, authenticate your account, and then Grok will also be able to access your Google Calendar. Now, obviously, if you have another third-party app that you want Grok, and in turn your AI assistant to be able to access, make sure you actually come over here and you connect it through the Grok connectors tab. It can either be Slack, [7:55] Notion, or any other third-party app. Because now it's time that we actually go over and we set up our workflow. Now, to do this, we simply have to come over here to our Grok bot and simply explain what type of workflow that we want it to do. For example, you could set up a morning brief where the agent calls you and reads all of your top emails and calendar bookings, so you know exactly what you have to do inside the day. And if you want, you can make this workflow automated. So, let's say it calls you every day at 9:00 a.m. and basically tells you all that information, so you [8:26] know exactly what you have to do for that day. And now all you have to do is to say, "Go ahead and set up this automated task for me." And now if I actually send over this prompt, then Grok bot is going to go and set up this automated task to run every day at 9:00 a.m. where our agent is going to call us in your mobile device and basically read to us the most important emails that we have and our entire program that we have inside our Google Calendar, so we know exactly what we need to do. So, now just to test it out, I will actually come [8:53] over here and tell it, "Hey, go over, give me a call so I can test this out and see if this is working correctly." And now if I send over this prompt, I should receive a call for a moment to moment. Now, as you can see, I'm currently receiving a call, so I'll simply pick it up. Hello. Good morning, Damiano. It's your [9:08] assistant with your morning brief. Great. Amazing. Looking at your calendar for Thursday, October 15th, you have a team stand-up from 9:30 to 9:45. At 11:00, you have a dentist appointment with Dr. Papadakis at Smile Dental Clinic on Kifisias Avenue. Then at 13:30, lunch with client Helios Logistics at Kuzina restaurant. On Friday, you have a Q4 project review at 10:00 and a spinning class at Fit [9:31] Zone Gym in Glyfada at 18:30. Can you change my spinning class because I don't actually want to go? Can you move it to the next spinning glass, which is at the 5:00 p.m. in the evening? I understand you'd like to move your spinning class, but I can't make changes to your calendar from here. You'll need to contact the gym directly or update [9:48] that yourself. Okay, thank you very much. As you guys have saw, our assistant literally went over and edited as the entire program that we had on our Google Calendar. So, we know exactly what is going to happen in the next 2 days. Now, this didn't actually read my emails because I specifically told it not to because I'm obviously not trying to read my daily emails, but if I actually normally run this workflow, then it would also go over and edit all the top emails that I received in my inbox. But, as you saw, the biggest limitation that we saw on that call was the fact that our agent [10:17] wasn't actually able to update the event that we had on our calendar. And that's because we haven't turned on mid-call actions, which basically allow our agent to actually go and use the tools that we have connected it to while we're inside the call. Now, to turn those on, it's actually a pretty simple process. All we have to do is to simply tell our Blend Bot to turn them on with a message like turn on mid-call actions during the call so you can draft an email or move a calendar event on command. And then I'm telling it to make a call so I can test it live. Also, one more thing that we [10:47] can change. Now, that's completely optional, but you can change the slight background noise which our agent has because it wants to mimic a office environment which tend to have background noise behind. But, if you don't want this agent for actually reaching out to leads and you mainly want it for using it as an AI assistant, then it actually makes that off which you can very easily do by coming over here and saying, "Also, I want you to turn off the background noise that the voice has because I don't really need it right now." And now, if I actually send over this prompt, my Blend Bot is going [11:18] to go and make both of these two changes. Which is exactly what it did. And as you can see, it's calling me again. So, let me actually pick up the phone. Hello, how are you doing? Good morning, Damiano. It's your assistant with your morning brief. Great. Let Let know. Looking at your calendar for Thursday, October 15th, you've got a team stand-up from 9:30 to 9:45. At 11:00, you have a dentist appointment with Dr. Papadakis at Smile Dental Clinic on Kifisias Avenue. Then at 13:30, lunch with client [11:43] Helios Logistics. Uh, can you For Friday Can you actually change that lunch that I have? I wanted to move it to another day. How about we move it to Friday? Just to confirm, you want to move the team stand-up from Thursday, October 15th at 9:30 to Friday, October 16th. Is that correct? Yes, that is correct. Got it. I'll take care of that right after we hang up, and the email will be saved as a draft, not sent. Do you have a specific time in mind for Friday, or [12:09] should I keep it at 9:30? Yeah, let's keep it at 9:30. That's fine. Understood. Team stand-up moved to Friday at 9:30. Now, for your top email, Eleni Markou from Helios Logistics is asking you to confirm Thursday's 13:30 lunch meeting. She needs a reply. There's also a Nimbus Cloud Services invoice INV2041 for 1,250 euros due Friday. Check-in is open for your Aegean flight A482 from Athens to Berlin on Saturday, October 17th at 7:15 a.m. Nikos Alexiou needs you to review the Orion project proposal by noon, and a speed post package arrives tomorrow [12:41] between 10:00 and 2:00. Great, amazing. Thank you. And boom, as you guys have saw, the bot told us that it will actually be able to go and change that calendar event immediately once we hung up. And if I actually go over to my Google calendar, I can see that it did successfully move it. As you can see here, we have our team stand-up for 9:30 a.m., which is exactly what we wanted. Plus, as you guys just heard, it also went over and successfully read out all of our most important emails. And the good thing with this is that you can customize this however you want. You can [13:10] make it read out only the sponsorship emails that you get, any new client emails that you get. You can also tell it to create drafts and respond to potential clients. You can literally customize it however you want. But, this assistant still has one small problem. Because so, if you want to use this for business purposes, then it's totally fine, since you can make it call yourself and call any potential clients [13:31] that you might have as your assistant. But, what if you want to make this actually call your friends, family, or make bookings in a restaurant? Then, ideally, you would want it to have your own voice. Well, thankfully, Bland actually allows you to clone your own voice, so your AI assistant can actually be using your voice when making all of those calls. Now, how you can do this is by going over in the voices tab and then coming over here and clicking on create new voice. Then, simply either instant clone or studio clone. I will personally select instant clone. Then, give a name to your voice. I'm going to call mine [14:02] one Damian. And then, what you need to do is to simply upload an audio sample from your PC. Now, if you don't already have one, simply go over in an online platform like onlinevoicerecorder.com. And then, all you need to do is simply come over here, click on the start recording button, then allow your mic, and then simply just start speaking and saying different things to your mic for a few seconds. Now, this requires 10 seconds of audio, but ideally, you would uh put some more seconds into this, so it has a better idea of how your voice actually sounds. Once you're done, you can simply pause this recording, click [14:33] on the save button, and download it on your PC. So, you can then come back over to Bland, click on browse files, and actually upload the recording. And then, you can simply come over here and click on clone voice. Now, as you just saw, my voice was cloned in literally just 10 seconds. And now, if I actually come over here and search for my voice, I will be able to find it. As you can see [14:50] here, we have our voice called Damian. And if I actually come over here and preview it, oh, hey, so this is um just a little preview of my voice. And uh yeah, I really hope you like the way I sound. As you guys just saw, this literally managed to get my voice in a pretty accurate way. And the most impressive part is that I only uploaded 10 seconds of audio. Now, they also have another option in which you can upload 10-plus minutes of audio, which is obviously going to return you a higher quality, but the trade-off is that you have to make a slightly longer recording [15:17] for just one time. If you're asking me, I think that trade-off is worth it, but just for testing this out, the instant clone is also pretty good. And now to make our AI voice assistant use her voice, all we have to do is to simply come over here and tell something like, "Hey Craig, now what I want you to do is to make sure that you switch the voice to the Damian voice. I also attached the voice ID below, so use that voice when calling with the phone." And what I'm also going to do is I'll simply come over here, copy the voice ID, and paste [15:45] it in over here, and click on enter. So, our Grok Bot can actually go and switch the voice to the clone of my voice that we just created. And now just to test this out, let's actually make it call a supposed restaurant to actually make a reservation in our behalf, which is also another very useful use case. This is obviously when you're working, you don't want to be the one calling different restaurants or different events making reservations yourself. By having this assistant, you can actually tell it, "Hey, what I want you to do is to go and call the restaurant uh in my city and make a reservation for a Friday at 9:00 [16:16] p.m. because I want to go for dinner on my name, Damian Mylaros." And then you can simply give it access to the number of the restaurant, or you can even tell it to go and find it from Google, which it is more than capable of doing. Now, for this example, I told it to call my number because I obviously don't want to make a fake phone call in a restaurant, but in the real world, it would actually go and call the actual restaurant. And now I'm waiting with my phone, and from a moment to moment, I should receive a phone call. I will act as the [16:41] receptionist for the restaurant, and the AI is going to be the assistant that's trying to close a dinner reservation on my behalf. And boom, as you can see, it's currently calling me. So, I will actually come over here and pick up. Hello, how can I help you today? Hi, I'd like to make a reservation for [16:56] this Friday, October 16th at 9:00 p.m. under the name Damian Mylaros. Um we're not available at that time. We can do it at 9:30 p.m. 9:30 [clears throat] p.m. works perfectly. It'll be for two people. Okay, yes. I just marked the reservation. Do you need anything else? That's everything. Thanks. you. like to confirm we have a reservation for two people this Friday, October 16th at 9:30 [17:22] p.m. under Damian Malaros. Thank you. Goodbye. Thank you. And boom guys, as you just saw, an AI with literally my own voice just called a supposed restaurant and closed a reservation on my behalf, which is exactly what we wanted. And honestly, this is a workflow that can save you countless hours of you manually having to go call different places to make a reservations, different customer support inquiries because maybe you have a problem either with your internet or with any other service. So, you actually don't have to sit there and wait for 15 minutes on the phone. You can simply tell your Bland voice agent to go and [17:54] make that call and get your issue fixed. And you can even use it to call your own leads and follow up with them when it comes to the project. Maybe give them daily updates. Maybe ask them to pay the invoice they forgot to pay or anything else that you can imagine. The possibilities are literally endless with this workflow. And just to add the cherry on top, if I go over in my Google calendar, you can see that it's also bundled over and booked a dinner in my calendar for 9:30 p.m. all the way to 11:00 p.m. So, I can add it into my schedule. So, if you want to be able to [18:23] build voice AI assistants like that, so they can take care of all the phone calls that you need to do in a day, then make sure you click the top link in the description. You come over to bland.ai and you create an account so you can try it out completely for free. And just so you guys know, you can also connect to Bland from Claude Code, Code X, News, and many other AI agents. So, it's not just Grok in which you can actually connect to, but also you keep things that you going to enjoy this video. So, make sure you go and watch that next and [18:49] I'll see you over there. --- About this transcript Read from YouTube's own caption track and laid out by ViewRank AI (https://viewrankai.com).
