# How To Make Phone Calls Using Grok Bot Channel: Van Did This! Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S78MosTGn4 Duration: 10 min Language: English Words: 1897 Transcript page: https://viewrankai.com/tools/youtube-transcript/0S78MosTGn4 --- [0:00] Thank you for calling Domino's. Can I start with a medium veggie pizza? I'll take a large soda. So yeah, that was Grokbot on the phone trying to order me Domino's. All because I want to see if this AI can accomplish something in the real world that can get me literal food in my hands. Today, I want to see how far we can take this phone call bot all while I show you how to give your own real Grokbot calls. And [0:21] it only takes like 5 minutes to set up. It's pretty amazing. But for now, we need a plan because as of filming, Grokbot doesn't have its own built-in phone call system. Luckily, there's a handy workaround for this properly named the Dial Bot. You can search for him in the Grokbot marketplace and simply add him to your computer. Great. And while he's setting up, let me explain the rules for this phone order pizza challenge. Number one, the Dial Bot needs to make calls from its own phone number. And not using my personal number or anything. I need a bot that can give [0:48] a call when I ask without hesitation. And number two, I need this bot to sound just like me over the phone or at least kind of similar anyways. This bot is going to be making the calls that I would have to make myself otherwise, might as well just not use the regular AI voice. And with those rules in mind, let's uh try not to break them. So, the bot is good to go and it's asking us for a Bland API key. And here's where the interesting stuff happens because it's not technically our Dial Bot that's going to be chatting with the Domino's employee. It's actually a service called [1:18] Bland. Our Grokbot is really just a middleman here that makes the call. Bland is the one that does the actual talking. So, let's head over to Bland real quick, make an account, and then grab that API key from the settings. And heads up, that key is basically Bland's password and if I were you, I would not [1:35] paste it straight into the bot chat. That's what this little window that Dial Bot gave us is for. Pretty neat feature. Now, the bot also asked for a voice. Rule two says it needs to sound just like me, but I'm going to be honest here, I just want to see if it works at all. So, I'm just going to park that rule for a moment. Placeholder voice uh [1:51] Liam? Oh, hey. So, this is um just a little preview of my voice and Yeah, Liam works. Cool. Other than adding credits to my account for the call, I think we can now do a small test run. All right, test number one. I'm going to have Dial Bot here call me on my phone, and then ask me what I want for dinner. And hopefully it goes well for the first try. I got the prompt right here, and I'm currently sending [2:14] it, and uh we'll see how it goes. There it is. And it's And it's not my phone number. That's pretty sick. Um I should I should probably answer. Speakerphone? Hello. Hey, quick question. What do you feel like getting for dinner? Um I feel like getting pizza. Uh Domino's pizza. All right, what kind do you feel like [2:39] getting? Uh probably like pepperoni pizza or something, maybe with mushrooms, I don't know. Thanks, I'll order that. Oh, well, thank you. I guess he's ordering the pizza. I'm not sure how to react to that. And luckily the call's only half of it, because once I hung up, Dial Bot actually sent us a full rundown of what actually happened here in chat. And if I'm correct, I think you can even ask for a recording of it. So, even when I'm not on the phone myself, I can check exactly what the bot said, and how the other person answered. And honestly, that's kind of the whole reason I'm doing this pizza [3:11] test in the first place. I know someone down in the comments is going to say, "Varian, you could just have Grok Bot order pizza off the website." And yeah, you're right, it probably could. But that was never the point. The point is whether a bot can hold an actual phone call with a real person well enough to get the job done. Because a website only works when there's a website. A phone call works almost anywhere. And if this thing can pull that off, it opens the door to a whole lot more than just pizza. I'll explain what I mean in a minute, but for now, we have to abide by [3:41] good old rule number two, and that means we got to ditch Liam. Now, let's take a look at the create new voice feature. It wants a 10-second clip for this. I I always take a small snippet from one of my videos for reference, but if we plan on ordering pizza, we might as well sound like it. Hey, this is Van Moses and I'm ordering pepperoni pizza from Domino's and this is a recording so you know how my voice sounds like. Extra [4:04] pepperoni, have a good one, see you. Great. Now let's see how it sounds. Oh hey, so this is just a little preview of my voice and yeah, I really hope you like the way I sound. Uh maybe change a tiny bit. Hopefully this one's better. Let's see how it sounds. Oh hey, so this is just a little preview of my voice and yeah, I really hope you like the way I sound. I don't think that's bad, but that was just one sentence in my voice, but I want to know how it sounds on an actual phone call. Hey, if you're enjoying this content, you want to see [4:37] more of it, hit that like and subscribe button. I think Van's doing an awesome job. All right, test number two. I have to prompt right here and I'm going to see if it can actually order a large pepperoni pizza while I pretend I'm Domino's. And if it somehow can't order that, then the pizza's cooked. [4:53] Oh, here it is. Let's see how it goes. Hello, this is Domino's. How can I help you? Hey, is this a good time? I wanted to grab a pizza for pickup. Um all right, what pizza do you want to order? Can I get a large pepperoni? Um yeah, that'll be $200. Um under what name? [5:16] Van. All right, I'll see you there. Have a good one. Bye. That actually wasn't too bad. Other than the fact I might have sounded a little too enthusiastic to order pizza, I'd say that's good. Yeah, and here's the results right now. Large pepperoni pizza for pickup, $200, under my name. Heck yeah. Honestly, that's good enough for [5:39] me and we have two rules checked off. And if this is good enough for a Domino's employee, then I'm having pizza dinner today. But before the final test, we need to 100% make sure the Stylebot is ready to order or at least handle anything that's thrown at it. I already mentioned this earlier. It's not about the pizza, but if the bot can [5:57] successfully call in to order a pizza. Because if it can do that, well, what about other non-pizza related things? Feel like setting up a dentist appointment? Dial bot. Want to check if a store still open? Dial bot. Need a specific car part and don't feel like phoning five shops at once to see who has it in stock? Have a freaking dial bot do it. But, let's also be real here for a second. I just showed you how to clone a voice and have it call people in 5 minutes. And not everyone's going to use that for pizza. So, if you decide to try this yourself, obviously be [6:26] respectful of the other person's time you're using. Use it ethically, basically. I'm not responsible for any AI bot carnage caused. So, uh yeah. Actually, not to put a damper on the challenge or anything, but since I plan to phone an employee of an official business, this could be considered a prank call. And I have no direct way to intervene mid-call. I only get a report and recording when it's finished. I gave it a whole prompted paragraph to work with, and it's still uh $9,000? Yeah, that sounds way off. You [6:57] sure you got the order right? Well, at least it's realistic. Okay, look. I'm still going to throw it a bone, but instead of calling an official Domino's employee while this bot is still very much work in progress, I'm going to have it call another YouTuber, who also happens to be my dad, in fact, and have him act like a Domino's employee and take an order. I set up an order my dad doesn't know about, and I told him to throw some curveballs in if he wanted. So, one medium veggie pizza, two orders of mild wings, a large soda, and a chocolate cake. What's the worst that could [7:27] happen? All right, take three. I already sent the call, and this time I'm hoping it didn't crash and burn this time. Thank you for calling Domino's. Would you like to try our spicy wings? Hello, I'd like to place a pickup order under Van, please. Sure, what would you like to order? Can I start with a medium veggie pizza? Okay, it turns out this guy is really [7:50] enthusiastic about pizza. Geez. A medium veggie pizza, you got it. Anything else? Yes, and two orders of mild wings, please. All right, two orders of mild wings, got it. Okay, anything to drink? I'll take a large soda. All right, not bad. Oh, okay. What kind of soda? Do you want a Pepsi, root beer, Sprite? [8:17] Pepsi, please. Pepsi sounds good. All right, anything else? All right, he handled the soda thing pretty well so far. And a large chocolate cake. A large chocolate cake? Uh we're actually out of chocolate cake at the moment. Got it, I'll skip the cake then. Oh, he's handling it far better after those prompts. Perfect. Anything else? [8:42] No, that's it. Thank you. Okay, perfect. Total is $37.16 and uh I assume you'll be paying cash when you arrive? That's right, paying with cash. Thanks. All right, thank you. See you in a bit. Bye. Goodbye. Yep, he definitely likes his pizza. You know what? That wasn't actually that bad. To me personally, it held up quite well and there's still some room to improve like the voice for example, but even that's something I can completely change and hopefully fix by using their studio clone version and bland and not just a 10-second one. And while I may not get some pizza today, I did get some fun ideas of what I want to test with [9:23] this thing later on. Uh thanks again for watching if you made it this far and feel free to check out some of my other videos as well. Uh YouTube thinks you might like this one. --- About this transcript Read from YouTube's own caption track and laid out by ViewRank AI (https://viewrankai.com).
